All most people under 35 today have known all their adult lives is crisis. That will eat away at conservative support as time goes on. Older people only become conservative when they age when they've benefited from something in their youth and fear losing it as they age. When all they've known in their youth is crisis, they are not going to get conservative as they age, but go the other way.

It's more recent than 2019; and there is movement to the right (as in; the youth are moving more to the right rather than they are right wing). I interpreted it to mean the youth are becoming more centre.

Keep in mind that in the UK, you'd be starting from quite a ways to the left of what passes for the "center" in the US. So UK youth could move right and still be to the left of US youth (who are indeed trending left).
