Hi everyone. I just wrote my first short story and want to publish it but I just have some questions. I read the content guidelines and I'm still not sure if it's okay. It's pretty gory, gruesome, some questionable material for posting is a zombie eats a baby, and a skeleton does sexual acts/kills 4 people including screwing someone with his own genitalia. I'm trying to put it nicely lol. Would this kind of stuff be allowed here? Thanks for the help.

I am fairly confident that a skeleton killing someone by screwing him with his own genitalia or committing sexual acts while killing them would probably brush up against this prohibition:

"Sexualized death, “vore”, or “snuff” fiction. Characters are allowed to kill or die in stories, but the death should not be intended as sexually titillating."

Lots of stories on here (including my own) involve a fair bit of blood and gore. I am not aware of any specific rules against children dying violently in stories, but the other acts you've described would probably run afoul of the guidelines.

It sounds to me like you're pushing the limit, but no-one by Laurel really knows where that limit is. If you already have the story written, then you can submit it and see how it's handled.

There's a pretty high bar for violence that's acceptable in the fantasy categories. Sexual violence is another matter entirely. I'd say you're over the line with the skeletal sexual assault and especially the mutilation/humiliation, at the very least.

But all we can do is make educated guesses from our own experience and what's been reported by others. There's only one story moderator, and she makes the actual calls. The good thing is that being rejected for content here doesn't get you banned like it would some places. The story gets back, and that's the end of it. ( If you make a habit of going over the line, you'll probably get extra scrutiny and longer waits to publication. )

Thanks everyone. I can't help it I have a sick mind lol. I surprised myself with this story. Appreciate the advice

Let us know what happens after you post it. You can always edit and re-submit.

For a moment I thought, skeletons don't have genitalia. Never mind! Yes, that one might get the story rejected. I assume you want to put it in the Erotic Horror category? I've never written in that one, although some people find vampires sexy. (Werewolfs I don't get.) One could argue that vampires don't kill people but merely make them into the undead.

Erotic Horror is a bit more flexible with that one than the written rules would suggest. There are plenty of stories of death during sex with vampires/succubi. All the same, OP's story sounds pretty close to the line.

Many of us came here to deal with our "shadow selves." Then I was surprised to find out what I thought were rare "interests" are actually quite common.
