Control Freaks. How do you deal with 'em?

Believe it or not, I had to figuratively kill myself off in order to get out of a thread run by a control freak. Have you encountered similar situations on this BB?

Please email me wit the names of these folks so that I can steer clear of them, especially in chain story threads. There is no need to list names publically since I have no desire to embarrass anyone. I just am looking to make my life a little easier.

Yeah - got yer message but...

Affraid I'd suck - looked in on that stuff and find it real hard to follow - as to that a control geek - ahhh - I mean freak and well..... just don't think it's in me.

Chain stories, role playing - don't think I'd be any good. Think if I were a real - ha - what is a real actor(?) - think I were a real actor - I'd be the Eastwood, Arnold, Willis kind of actor - you know, always being basically himself and saying words. Same charater - different shoes.

Well what the fuck was their problem? Obviously Blue, you need to focus all that creative lustful energy on writing a story for this site, instead of dealing with people like that. I've read through the role playing boards before and found then so confusing (no rules or guidelines anywhere I could find), that I never ventured a post. Kinda glad about that now. lol
By the way, loved the death scene.

Another thing I have noticed is....

that Control Freaks only present their side of the story. They all operate out of a fear mode. Wonder what they are afraid of?

I kind of like the threads with control freaks running them, cause I have no idea wtf I'm doing. Just sort of flying by the seat of Sprained Crocus's pants here. Anyway, they give a little structure. Too much structure in it, where they actually try to control the character being played by someone else is over the top. If they want to control that character, they need to be that character.

My problem is with people who suddenly make themselves invincible and perfect in the middle of the thing. They have no known weaknesses.

I also have problems with people who cannot spell to save their lives. I'm not talking the normal spelling hassles everyone has, but the misspelling of simple words. Like whole and turn. I mean really, a tern is a bird, not an action. If you do not speak english that well, particularly if it is your second language, let us know!!!!! It makes the frustrations go away as well as that nasty fear you're dealing with an 8 year old.

I was ranting. I haven't heard a thing about you sweetie. I wasn't aware you had any sort of reputation at all. I just decided to dip my toe into the whole SRP thing in the last week or so myself, so I'm travelling unfamiliar shark infested waters. I just don't know who the sharks are yet. I'm sure they will make themselves known.

I'm speaking about, conerning the linguistics trouble, one person, nightray, who cannot write in English worth a plug nickel. Its difficult to read and very off-putting. If he's a native English speaker, then I'm going to be hoity toity about it. There is no excuse for such blather. If, and most likely, he is a non-native English speaker, then it is forgive and forgetable.

Ok this is what started the whole shit (sorry for my language). If this is not writing someone part what is it. You decided that this man was that way, maybe you should let him decide what role he wants to portray, a arrogant bastard or a good guy.

Secondo, I think you were pissed at him (because he told you to back off), and got back at him, by doing the damn
rescue part on the balcony. You should know when to stop in my own opinion.

I wonder who is the control freak in this???

Oh and by the way evidence no.1 was destroyed. So very hard for the readers who didn't follow the story, to know that one post is missing. The one that got Thor not too happy in the first place.

I rest my case.

Think about this. I wrote what I did because I thought it was okay. When I learned that what I did was inappropriate, I asked if there were other things I should know. I also got nothing but a lot of snide comments. I then DELETED the OFFENSIVE language that you posted for all to see. (Check it out).

If people care to see for themselves, they can check it out. As for me, I'm done with chain stories. Too may cooks for me. I think I'll write a short story about this whole experience.

I didn't accuse you of conceiling evidence..lol I just want people to know the whole fact. And yes you retracted the episode, and I thank you for that.

But you were in trouble waters with Thor, and had to pull the balcony stunt. VERY bad idea!!!

But if you look at the thread in it's "ensemble" (godause french a little bit), Thor is probably the less control freak in the story. I probably would categorize as one of the control freaks, to some people in that thread.

I was one of the original characters in TP Club - like a dumbass i left early after a wonderful encounter, so it all happenned after i was gone - but - while Thor was totally right- he did overreact a tad. Thats why i wrote Beach Party as a story - so using authors privilege i coule legitimately control the action

You were actualy in a role playing thread and I missed it?!? Damn, just damn. Had some trouble with Thors Hammer while you were there too huh? Been there myself in the past. The guy's a talented writer, but has a real ego thing at times. But hey, if you ever feel like checking out the role playing boards again, just read up on the unspoken rules thing that's at the top of the SRP's front page. That'll get you all set. Just try to stay away from that 'Renegade' guy. He's a terrible writer and has got some issues.
