Agree. Symbolic and performative.Ya know what, Chumly? Booker's filibuster was symbolic ("performative", if you wish). But it served notice to you and your fellow bootlickers that Democrats will not 'obey in advance'....they will not 'bend the knee', and we hold that America is still governed by the Rule of Law and not some rando "Executive Order".
The executive branch has powers that do not require action or approval of the legislative branch.
What part of No don’t you understand?
Booker didn’t actually filibuster a bill. He was apparently going for a meaningless record and I guess he succeeded and got a prize or something. Maybe he’ll try to break Joey Chestnut’s hotdog eating record next.
Markets took a beating today. Trump’s tariffs are rattling investors. I lean heavily on the free trade side and am not a fan of excessive protectionism or trade wars so you won’t see me cheering for tariffs. When it comes to equities, I’ve always been a long term investor. Take advantage of the dips. Stocks are on sale. Buy low, sell high.
Are you too saying Trump is manipulating the market?
Markets react to news.
Markets react to all kinds of shit. The question was, "Do you think Trump is manipulating it?"
No. Like all presidents, he is making decisions and implementing his policies.
Remember the post order now? Or in your old age do you need a gentle reminder once in a while. Thanks for "getting" around to answering.
Yep. The markets are reacting to Trump’s tariffs.Remember the post order now? Or in your old age do you need a gentle reminder once in a while.
Thanks for following!
Yes they are, and not in a positive way.Yep. The markets are reacting to Trump’s tariffs.
Correct.Yes they are, and not in a positive way.
yes they do. They do not possess "unlimited power" though (withholding funds authorized by Congress, shutting down cabinets created by Congress, etc). The executive branch has powers that do not require action or approval of the legislative branch.
The part where it’s capitalized even though it’s in the middle of the sentence. What part of No don’t you understand?
The question wasn’t directed at you but I’m sympathetic to your need to feel relevant. The part where it’s capitalized even though it’s in the middle of the sentence.
I'm with Cory on this one. I wish he had done this on the budget. I wish this was the law on filibusters. If you think something is THAT bad for America that we cannot even risk a vote your ass better be willing to just talk and if necessary tag in your friend until the other guys either negotiate or just deal with something else, anything else.I do too, but love 'em or hate 'em, that kind of passion - and willingness to fight a little dirty - has been missing on the left for a very long time. I'm glad to see it back.
Nothing wrong with that.Agree. Symbolic and performative.

The march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge was symbolic and performative.Agree. Symbolic and performative.
Those powers have limits. Article2 does not, as Trump believes, mean the president can do whatever he wants. The executive branch has powers that do not require action or approval of the legislative branch.
Because investors are afraid, and not unreasonably, that the tariffs are going to ruin a lot of businesses.Yep. The markets are reacting to Trump’s tariffs.
Government should not be run like a business because a government is not a business -- its purposes are much more complicated than the pursuit of profit.I'm told we want to run the government like a business
Glad you enjoyed the performance. The march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge was symbolic and performative.
Some of the EOs have been blocked, some stalled, and many are in full effect and delivering great results. Those powers have limits. Article2 does not, as Trump believes, mean the president can do whatever he wants.
That’s right. I’ve lived through a number of these once in a lifetime periods of investor nervousness.Because investors are afraid, and not unreasonably, that the tariffs are going to ruin a lot of businesses.

Sounds like things are not going well for you. Thoughts and prayers.

Come on, little girl, lets hear your election cheer for Kamala again!
I can't wait to suck on your welfare tits, wonderful Kamala!
I am bright shiny girl and I only use emotions, never my brain!
Punish those who work, reward those who don't!
Kamala, Kamala, please hurry up and put your slave collar on America!
I am worthless and indoctrinated, Kamala, so give me a job doing nothing!
Yay, Kamala, go Kamala, take us down into the sewer that destroyed the USSR!
I tried write a Trump parody to C'est Moi, but honestly I can't find a single word to change:
It's a smut site. They probably come here looking for rape fantasy stories.Seriously we have a new psycho? Do these fuckers grow on trees?
