I figure if Odyssey gets a thread, might as well start one for a movie I liked.
Just saw Coyote v Acme.
You might have heard about it.
Live action with animation.
All your favourite Looney Tunes character, with Will Forte, Lana Condor and John Cena in the lead live action roles.
Noteworthy because Warner Brothers killed the original release to take a tax write off and it was only public protest and a daring independent distributor who dug it out of the WB vault that made it available. WB wasn’t even going to sell it for streaming.
I’m no movie reviewer, but I actually laughed. And not much makes me laugh these days.
Bottom line:
If you are a Looney Tunes fan, you MUST see this movie. Way better than Space Jam.
If you liked Who Framed Roger Rabbit, you SHOULD see this movie. One review said this movie does for legal thrillers what Roger Rabbit did for film noir. I agree. Liked this one more.
If you like live action animation mixes, you SHOULD see this movie. Brilliantly filmed and edited. Solid acting. Will Forte is excellent. And gotta love ana condor's smouldering heat in that "brainy girl next door" way. She's perfectly cast as the young lawyer with idealism.
If you liked Erin Brokovich or Dark Waters (that’s the legal thriller starring Mark Ruffalo and a class action lawsuit), you SHOULD see this movie. Classic good v evil, David v Goliath themes, with a twist I won’t spoil.
Heck, if you just like legal thrillers or legal comedies,(if there are any legal comedies), in general, you SHOULD see this movie.
All that's missing is anthro sex (there is no sex). Sorry @anthrodisiac- a different sort of animal love. this one might make YOU cry.
It is way better than any John Grisham adaptation.
