I knew there was a lockdown in Australia.. However I just read that Melbourne has been in actual lockdown for so many days!! Are you still able to get out and about where you are?? or have the locked you down as well??

I'm in the west. We eliminated Covid here mid last year so don't have any restrictions at all, other than not traveling interstate or internationally. Sydney and Melbourne are under heavy restriction since July but their vaccination rate is coming up so hopefully they can get out of their houses in the next week or two and head towards better days.
We will allow them over here again once we get to 90% double vaccinated in December but hopefully can keep it out until then and protect the desert Aboriginal communities who are immuno-compromised.
Now when I say no interstate travel, remember that this state is 1/3 of the country and about the same ratio of the US so not quite the same as being locked down in a small state or country. 3 hours on a plane and I am still in the state.

Certainly are a lot of areas and climates within the state so its good to explore and know the remote areas. Perhaps not quite the scenery to do backdrops for photos for this thread, thats more hotel room oriented if anything. Me naked swimming in a billabong gets a bit lost in the backdrop.

You can certainly go some distances out in the remote areas and not see people for days. Suburban spread does go for miles though so it does take you a while to clear that. You always laugh when you are coming in from the north on landing at night. Lights appear in the darkness out the window but you still have a while to go before seatbelts on.

Let's see if I can get it right and turn it into something. A few focal points and depth of field things to work out yet, let alone working out what I think I can do.

A pro would probably have the answers on how to set it up. A stronger light perhaps would make a more distinct contrast, maybe a mask on the light to make it a band of light.

Wait until I have got it right. I'll have to think what I might do yet. The crack in the door from a bright room looking in? A sliver of sunlight through the curtains? Bright neon lights through cheap curtains of a sleazy motel overnighter? The glare of a police torch as they burst through the door of the wrong room?

BTW the provision of multiple trouser hangers in hotel rooms is not a cheap nipple torture but a means of clamping the curtains shut if you are sleeping into the day.

Interesting light. I agree on a different lens producing a result but I'm not sure if just the nearest skin in focus is going to be possible solo. At that level of F you are working in inches. Perhaps leave the longer focal length but go up the legs horizontally. You would probably get knees to navel in prime focus depending if you are closed legs or open legs. You are shaved smooth so open and the light coming up your inner thigh might look good, alternatively up the back of your legs and a flicker of light between your cheeks.

I think the light of a crack in the door coming into a dark room is a good scenario. Through the keyhole, what you peeped in on.

Good scenario, I will experiment with it. I had thought how it might go horizontally. Inevitably I need to mask the light with baffles so that it has an edge and direction rather than just a lamp to one side. Let's see if that fits in with mucking around rather than creating a set. I only muck around.

The recent set of pics are gorgeous. I agree with fishfryer about the bronze-like quality. To me, it feels as much like you are emerging from a pool of darkness as it does like the light is finding you.

Thanks A. A few fixed settings, warm lamp and after that it just turned out how it did. I'll take the result even if it was not a plan. I'm still thinking how I will use it. Maybe laying back, or on all fours, lovers eye perspective, but that introduces a bed instead of blackness so in all likelihood loses the effect. Perhaps a black ottoman, on display and being studied by a lover. It's 30C over here now so maybe close the windows and turn off the A/C jump around a bit and get up a sweat on my skin with the light. A plan and a few hours to myself.

I like to play with depth of field and meanings, or sometimes what I don't show. That's not to say that sometimes an immediate need to express might take over. It's heading on winter in Oz so less time on the beach and more warm time to think.
