No, as a matter of fact, if my partner has a sexual future that does not include me I am good with that too. I like to live in the moment. :D

Well at first it was yes but now knowing i'm no saint it's no. that's his past and what he did then has nothing to do with me :).

There are lots of variables to this question, but I'll play.
If I were sincere in my wishes to make this person a significant part of my life as a lover and partner, then any past knowledge of her sexual activity would certainly be weighed in my thoughts. I'm in my 50's. I and all of my partners have history, as is to be expected. To what extent you take that knowledge of your partners past is really up to you and your own parameters.

I would tend to distrust a partner who overly divulges her personal sexual history.

Why should it matter, it's not like he could change it and it has nothing to do with me.

Yes, and no. Yes, if he can't seem to leave his past in the past. No, if he can focus on the present.

It matters if it's misrepresented or lied about, purely because it's lied about. Otherwise, everyone has a history whatever it may be.

So yes and no for me.

I'm with Rainshine...

I said no, because to me it doesn't matter what that past is, but if I'm spending my life (for the moment for some I guess) with them, then I want to know about their past.

I voted no but 38 years into marriage I hope that's what you'd expect!

The day after I proposed we had a conversation about our sexual pasts, initiated by my brand new fiancee. It was a rather short conversation actually. We both felt it was good to have it, and then move on with our love for each other and building our relationship.

Clowns, you prompt me to consider when I last so much as thought about the content of that conversation: twenty years ago perhaps? :)

The things they have done, or not done sexually is of very little importance - except for relating to current preferences or things she would like to try. What's important is the quality of past relationships. If there is a record of being honest, and open communication, those things done between hearts and minds are so much more important than what two bodies might have done.

Just to throw the cat amongst the pigeons.

Example for men: she has had sex with 6 different guys you know, she has a reputation for sleeping around locally but you find her charming, beautiful and loveable. Could you fall in love with her?

For women: he has been married 4x, has cheated on all previous wives and has now met you and you love everything about him. Would it matter his past?

What if your judged because you have no past? That's humiliating and embarrassing all on its own.

The way I see it...what happened before we met can't possibly matter. Its not like he would say to himself "maybe I should do something different because in 4.6 years I may meet the woman of my dreams."

What matters is how we treat each other and communicate now.

You portray a woman who is adventurous; attractive to a guy who is confident sexually.

You portray a man who is dysfunctional; to be avoided at allcosts by women with sense.

it matters to me only as a way to get information on what turned her on or not. :D
