I would bondage myself up all compact and squeeze into a trunk with holes in it for THAT.
Minutes before I made that post I had a phone call from people close to me, though currently in situ with the opportunity of doing most of the aforementioned but whining instead. The mere fact they are 'there' honestly reminded me of the four months I lived from one hedonistic pleasure to the next . Netz believe me when I say , sans bondage I am now imagining the potential deviations of my memories based on several fine Litsters participating in the endeavour. Oh my , I can 'see' you quite content in several altered scenarios : smiles :

I miss having all the energy I had at 25: come home from work, get dolled up, dance all night at a Brisbane Disco, fall on the bed [literally] have 2.5 hours sleep, get up, go to work, come home, get dolled up and then do it all over again. I used to love to dance.

I miss...

having someone do something nice for ME for a change. Why is it that people get into these rhythms and can't seem to break out of the rut?

I miss the decadence of the late 70's and early 80's. I miss going out dancing all night, partying, carousing with my gay roommate (really miss him since he died 15 years ago from Aids). I miss Sylvester's sweet voice. I miss that free floating I did between the gay/lesbian/straight sexual arena back when most of us kept the thought of HIV shoved in the recesses of our brain, when it was still easy to exist in denial for a few more years.

And yet as much as I miss it, I don't (except the dancing). Ultimately I found a partner who appreciates that fluid sexuality. I managed to make it thru that time period without any diseases which I feel clearly blessed about. I can look back and reminisce...and smile.

Only thing I truly miss is my mother - I can still here her laughter. I miss calling her early sunday mornings, knowing she was awake like I was, and talk music, sports, gossip and what crazy things were going on in our lives.

~kierae (who is clearly having a sentimental moment)

i know how to make homemade perogis...but that's neither here nor there.

i miss Philly Cheesesteaks.

I miss vacations. I have not had one in a decade.

Bummer.

I miss REAL twinkies!

what they're trying to pass off as twinkies now-a-days is insulting!

*wrinkles her nose* yep ... I thought it was just me being cream picky ... but most I talk to about twinkies say the same thing.

Hmmm, watching the concert at Wembley to celebrate what would have been Princess Diana's 46th birthday reminds me how much I miss her spunk and spirit, not to mention her ability to love and give back to the world. Seems her sons might just have inherited a good dose of her ability to break the stuffy traditions and do what they believe to be best...think she would be extremely proud of them today, and I am sure she would have been rocking away to the music of some of her favourite performers they have arranged to perform in her memory. :rose:

Don't give anything away. It's not on here, for another 7 hours!

The only thing I'll say is it is worth watching if you like variety in your entertainment mixed with good karma....certainly not boring. LOL, like one of the presenters said, 'It is like a Royal Command Performance except you want to watch'.

Watching it now and you're definitely right about the concert, her and her sons.

Her birthday coincides with my country's - Canada's - birthday.

I feel a bit of a connection with Princess Di...I was visiting my parents' home...staying up late watching TV, when it was first reported she'd been in a car accident and died. It was the same day my Mom had surgery and we were told her cancer was terminal. A sad day.

And on that note...in keeping with the thread...damn I miss my Mom.

I miss the llife I had, before all of the crap started. If you've never had something, you only want it. But, when you've had it, you not only want it, you also miss it.
