"No, I don't have anywhere important to go...What...Why am I special exactly...?" Her hand clutched the locket through her shirt.

Joe's eyes twinkled as Rose asked the question...
"you really dont know do you...?" Joe pondered to himslef, he was getting to old to play mentor to a gifted young foundling , but he knew 'people' who could help. "fine then give me 48 hours ...and I will take you through a walk...not in your world...but in HIS .." He pointed at the locket.

"Ummm...ok..." Her fingers again close over locket tightly.

"This is all so..." she sighed picking up her coffee again.

Joe watched her as he slowly prepared to open the nexus he called a coffe house... soon the golden rays of sunlight would chase the shadows into their corners for another 12 hours. He spied a short pale young man waiting outside. he walked to the door and opened it again mumbling "what am I a sanctuary for the supernatural?" Vic flashed elongated incisors as he chuckled "just came by to pick up a book to read to help me sleep" . Joe began to hand him a book that was already wrapped but as The figure moved to dart back into the street joe stopped him. "I have a favor to ask if your free tonight maybe you can help me give a new friend a tour of the 'night' life" Vic paled as he realized how close to sunrise it was. Vic stepped inside and sighed ...
eyeing his watch he commented to the young lady "you must be the 'friend'."

Rose nodded hesitantly at Vic.

"Yeah...I uhhh...I'm Rose..." She held out one hand to shake but the other was still wrapped fiercly around her locket.

Vic

Vic was by no means a average vampire, he was short, paunchy and almost painfully shy... but he was however very knowlegable about the citys 'night' life. Vic eyed the beautiful young lady and suddenly withdrew his hand as if he had been burned..."damn shes got a talisman ...you could have warned me ..what is she a witch??" Joe interupted and sotthingly said "actually its the talisman Id like you to help me track...its a gift, and its bonded to a incubus."
Vic cringed and slowly pulled a pair of glases out of his pocket he sighed "alright let me take a look hurry..before I end up frying with the morning bacon.."

Rose hurriedly leaned forward, holding the locket out for inspection. She liked Vic. He didn't seem very...well, threatening....

"When you say bonded..." she began hesitantly.

"What do you mean exactly?"

Vic mumbled to himself "well at least we know shes not a hunter." Vic stretched sleepily "The object was forged from the essence of dreaming , it is highly magical and it probably has been a part of the incubus since he was spawned the fact that he gave it to you must mean he has somehow bonded to you... all in all its highly unusual." Vic yawned "no if I can go Id get some sleep young lady tonight is going to be a busy night"

Rose nodded slowly and watched Vic leave. She felt so tired suddenly...She smiled at Joe, thanking him for everything, before trudging home.

She sighed and stripped, pulling on her sleep tee with a teddy bear and hearts, she hesitantly looked at the necklace, but she didn't want to part with it, even for sleep. She tucked it into her shirt, so that it rested between her breasts, against her skin. She sighed and snuggled under her blankets, falling into sleep almost immediatly.

The moment she slipped the bonds of the banality drenched existence most of us call life, she was wrapped in the arms of one who never truly leaves the splendor of the dreaming.
A part of Stephan would always be here waiting... Stephan could hear the question in her heart..."were that I could tell you Rose, but your heart is as much a mystery to me as mine is to you... all I know is the way you make me feel, the bond that cradles us and the fact that I did not create this bond ...it merely exists, as does my heart for you." Stephan cringed even as he tried to lose himself in the dream that he could just stay here in the dreaming forever and in truth he had heard there were ways, but they were secret and only beigns with incredible powers could cross into this realm to live. But as he held her wondered. He sensed all this power off her, perhaps the two of them could..perhaps...He shook off the dream for the moment, for now he had problems back in the world of banality and he would have to be at his optimum if he wanted to survive to see such a dream come to fruition.
