Darwinism....Y chromosome changes

This is an add-on to the thread about men being retards (or something close to that)...it is about scientists studying chromosomes finding that the male chromosome is evolving faster than anticipated - and much faster than the "X" chromosome.

In other words, women are now much closer to apes in evolutionary terms....then men are...

So I read this article and what I find interesting is this paragraph...

This DNA swapping process is forbidden between the X and the Y pair, keeping the male-determining gene from being transferred into the X chromosome, creating gender chaos.

But this prohibition has caused most of the genes on the Y chromosome to decay for lack of fitness. In the rest of the genome, a gene damaged by a mutation can be swapped out for the good copy on the other chromosome.

Makes me think of Jurassiac park and the line "Nature finds a way" because you know it always does.

Well, this is actually a highly-evolved and very successful strategy for finding mates. It takes next to zero effort to send 100 pms, so even if you get only one reply which leads to cyber sex, it's worth the pay off. 5 minutes of mindless pming of complete strangers, but you get to talk dirty at the end of it!

There's method in the madness. It's all in that weird and wonderful thing called the Y-chromosome.
