This is not really a how to but I am partial to this forum over others. As usual I am a day late doller short and am looking for a site where I can still order a letter from santa and have it marked with the "North Pole" postmark. Anyone know of such a site? Most I have looked at I am too late... story of my life

In Canada, the post office will do this for you.

However, if it seems like it is too short of notice, could you go out and buy a stamp somewhere with a "from the North Pole" or something along those lines, written on it? You could simply make the letter/envelope itself, and stick it in your mailbox for your child to find.

Readtrnot thats exactly what I need however when I went to order it's a $20 shipping fee for a $10 letter since it is so late. I hope I don't get so desperate as to do it.

If all else fails, you could go to the U.S.P.S. site and design a stamp online (Santa, North Pole scene, recipient's picture, whatever) and then add a North Pole postmark over it. When you're done, print it out--takes only a couple minutes and only a small fee beyond the price of the stamp. (Yep, it's legal postage.) My g.f. did this for her kids, and it turned out well.

If this is what people are paying for, i think you could do it yourself quite well.
Get some fancy paper with santa etc on it, pick a nice font and away you go.

Text of sample letter:

Dear Josh,

Christmas is just around the corner an all of us at the North Pole are very busy trying to get everything ready. My suit is nearly done and the sleigh is washed and polished. The reindeer have been taking practice flights, so watch for Rudolph's red nose in the sky. The elves in my workshop are almost finished making the Christmas gifts. Speaking of presents, I know that you would like a Batman car, a Michael Jordan doll, and a Creepy Crawler so that you can make bugs. You know I've been watching and you've been pretty good this year. I'll see what I can do.

Your Mom and Stephen told me that you enjoy playing on your computer, watching movies, and playing basketball. I also know that you like to read and write. I'll bet you're good at it too. Would you write "Hi Santa" and leave it out form me to see on Christmas Eve? I like eating cookies and looking at the beautiful Christmas trees. Frosty likes the snow. We are hoping for a white Christmas this year so Frosty can ride along and see all the decorated houses in the Chillicothe area. If it does snow try to build a snowman for Frosty to play with while I'm leaving your presents and filling your stockings.

All of us at Santa's Workshop wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!. And Don't Forget:

"I know when you've been sleeping,
I know when you're awake.
I know when you've been bad or good,
So be good for goodness sake."

Just don't get your letter mixed up with your lit stuff. ;)

Another example of americans trying to own everything. Now they own the north poll??

Since when was The north poll part of the US. If anything it would be Canada, or one of the countries that are north that have a share in properity up there. Yes I am aware the US has Alaska, but they have no property in the far far north.

That is a great RANT now for some of the facts.

There is a small town in Alaska that is called North Pole, so they may have been cheeky enough to do such a dastardly thing but they did it, it is about 10 miles south of Fairbanks.

North Pole website.
