Green Lantern
"This is gonna suck" Kyle Raynor says with a defeated sigh. "I thought this would different" he thinks to himself. "I finally get an artist gig at one of the biggest companies in the world and I'm force to illustrate the ideas of a bozo writer." Putting down his pen Kyle Raynor stands up and stretches. He's been under an enormous amount of pressure in his professional life lately. He had just received a prime artist job on one of the best selling comic books in America. But the jubilation he felt when he received the job has been ebbing.
Walking threw his studio apartment Kyle stands near a window overlooking the city. "I've spent too much time worrying about my art job. It's just for the first time in my life I felt as if I really was making something of myself, of my career. There's no denying what's wrong. As good as getting a little bit of respect, and whole lot more money means there's only one thing that's ever made me feel important."
Focusing his mind on the emerald ring that lies on his right ring finger Kyle sees only green. In less time than it takes to blink his apartment is filled with a green radiance and when it disperses Kyle Raynor is gone and Green Lantern stands in his place.
With a thought emerald energy leaves Green Lantern's ring and a green surfboard materializes. Hopping on the board Kyle points to the sky and heads in the direction of the JLA's space headquarters.
