Democrat Congressman Calls Disabled Marine "White Trash"


Welcome to the new age of Democrat civility. We have Democrat Senator Barbara Boxer comparing Republicans to the Taliban. We have Democrat Congressman Alan "Dick" Grayson comparing Republicans to Nazis. We have Democrat Congressman Brian Baird calling Tea-Party Patriots "brownshirts." We have the Democrat House Leadership calling critics of their Health Care Program "Un-American."

Add to this hall of shame Democrat Congressman Dennis Moore, (D-KS), who referred to his Republic challenger --- a Marine Veteran who lost his leg to an IED in Iraq --- as "white trash."



Speaking to a respected Hispanic leader in KCK, Dennis Moore reportedly called decorated and disabled Marine Veteran and Congressional Opponent “White Trash” in a recent (recorded) telephone conversation. The KCK leader, who has formally supported the incumbent congressman, is supporting Daniel Gilyeat’s candidacy for the Kansas 3rd District Congressional seat. Dennis Moore called the KCK man after hearing the Hispanic community leader’s support had changed.

You see, this is part of the reasoning why I decided about 8 years ago to go ahead and register myself as an Independant. This country has become more divided than ever before, or @ least it seems that way. And not just politically. There is so much of this us vs. them/ black and white mentality. On both sides of the argument there have always been these extreme pockets of hate, but it seems much more prevalent now. And regardless of the fact that we all (as Americans) get to share in the Fifth Amendment, for anyone to call a disabled war veteran 'white trash' is so horribly wrong. The Republican challenger who lost his leg over in Iraq as a Marine, sacraficed himself so that some asshole could say that.

And it would be a disgrace to his loss to not call the guy an asshole if he acted like one.

It kinda reminds me how at a funeral everyone acts all nice and says how much of a devoted husband and loving father a guy was even if he was caught beating his wife and hitting his own kids. If the guy was an ass having one less leg doesn't make him any less of an ass.

Basically, it's assholish to refer to anyone as "white trash", especially if they went ahead and sacraficed themselves and lost thier leg for this country. So, the asshole in this case is the Democratic Senator, not the other way around.

And I agree, nobody should get a free pass on being criticised just because they've had a hard life. But there is such thing as constructive criticism, instead of plain ignorance. I know nothing of either challenger in this fight, I'm just basing my observations on a singular circumstance.

Chambliss ran an add with Cleland pictures next to bin laden and Hussein to call his patriotism into question. It was so bad that John Mccain came to his defense and had this to say.



And other veteran Republicans said similar things. His patriotism was again called into question when he was helping fellow veteran John Kerry run for president.
