I went to bed early then got up for the last hour with Dick Clark...
I swear he has to be a planted Alien. No one looks & talks THAT well after a major stroke

it's short for Web-based seminar, a presentation, lecture, workshop or seminar that is transmitted over the Web instead of at a brick and mortar location.

Starrynight thank you for confirming what I thought it was--I think it's a great word, just hadn't heard it before. Guess I should've signed up for online courses years ago and I wouldn't be in the dark.

I'm going to have to look at this list further. Looks like they're banishing over-used words or statements.

I think they've done a great job with banishing the overused words. I don't think I'll miss the way most of them have been used lately.

organic? How can you ban the word organic?!?

I think it was banned because it is so often misused. Organic is plastered on products to make us think it's better than the competitor. Consumers assume that organic produce has been grown without chemical fertilizers and soil enhancements. That is not always the case. Thus it was banned. Remember this is only one institution's opinion.

I just read some of the others. I can see how some may have been so overused as to mean little anymore but even so. Glad I don't go to that university... :)

Speaking of oats....since I've been at home for the holidays, and have more time in the morning, I've been making something other than oatmeal for breakfast.

I've rediscovered a taste for Cream of Wheat, with toast on the side. The downside is that I put it on the stove to boil and I forget about it; not just once, but twice even and have to start all over.

And I always thought it was "Hay is for horses but grass is cheaper."...*shrug*

I had Cream of Wheat in the hospital and really enjoyed it. I never tried the original in the microwave and I detest the instant.

I've eaten oatmeal for breakfast most days for several years. I never got tired of it until 2 weeks ago! I switched to Cheerios. Today I had oatmeal and it was good. Nice and filling.
