If I didn't celebrate holidays cause I didn't like the original basis, I wouldn't celebrate anything.

Christmas - Jesus was born in the spring. Christmas was originally the winter solstice. I'm a Christian - I choose to celebrate Jesus' birthday instead of winter solstice.

Easter. Huh - supposedly the day Jesus was raised from the dead, and yet we have the easter bunny and eggs. Bull - it's another pagan holiday. I'm not pagan. but i choose to see the eggs as a sign of the new life I have in Jesus. *shrugs* Holidays are what you make of them. I'm not catholic - I don't do the whole saints thing. I still choose to celebrate st. patty's day because it's fun. I could care less about the origins.
