I met a couple of people from the personal ads. However, the ones who really caught my eye were the ones with whom I interacted on the threads, on a regular basis. It was easier to "see" their personality. Just my 2 cents.​

Of course everything starts with talking! How are you supposed to know if somebody's a creep if you don't interact via threads first?

That's a good question, I know in years past they did. Scrolling through some posts earlier it appears a lot has stayed the same, but I would venture by the number of bumps guys make the responses are more scarce.

I’ve met some great people, both online and in person. But, as others have said, participation in the threads and conversations generated there are the best way.

In my short life here, personals are used when you want to "sell" just a part of you.
If you want to meet like minded people, just participate in thread or discussions, they will know you better.

I almost never read the ads, the majority sounds...fake

Just people with whom I have started conversations (or have started with me) and it went from there.
