This is not ship-shape. An excuse to publish a couple of photos. When France fell to the Germans, the French liner Normandie was seized by the U.S. Government in New York. The intention was then to convert it to a troopship, but it caught fire and capsized at its Hudson River pier. Needless to say, it had to be scrapped. It sure was beautiful in its original condition.
