I haven't shown my face on Lit....

However once I feel comfortable with a person on this board and they express a genuine interest in seeing what I look like, I have been known to send them a pic, or two, or ten.....

The Republican comment didn't bother me, I DO take responsibility for my own life. I have no problem saying it here. And I thought the Hillary crack was just his attempt at being funny.

its just for that reason ... i think by not posting your pics allows you to maybe be more open about other parts of your life and not fear being "contacted" in the street or something

Being a guy I am not worried about such encounters as most stalkers go after women not men, but I can see how many women would and should be cautious about postingtheir pics. It all depends on your situation - my main worry is discrimination in the workplace. More than one person who frequents Lit. has been fired for posting here from the workplace. Granted people need to exercise caution in that regard, but I don't think those people would have been fired for posting to a motorcycle or sewing forum - what is so bad about Lit. that a person should be fired for posting here from work?

There is a lot of workplace discrimination out there - I have seen people suffer for their political or religious views, because they were gay, because they rode a motorcycle (one recent case of a guy who was told he would not advance in his career because the powers that be feared he would wind up disabled or killed due to his riding), and a number of other issues that had little or nothing to do with their workplace performance.

If you watch TechTV, you will often see online porn and erotica equated with online crime; watch "CyberCrime" and you will see about half the time they treat porn sites/etc. as if they are a crime.

With this kind of prudishness and discrimination out there, can you blame anybody for being careful about being identified here?

I use a pic of myself for my AV. I don't think I'd post on the ampic board because I doubt anyone would want to see me there.

I understand that some people have jobs or a position in society to maintain.Personally I really don't need to worry about being snubbed at the golf club or being passed over for promotion.

I don't plan on using me on my AV, but I have no issue with it being on the am pics.

It doesn't really bother me if someone recognises me, because it just doesn't. I guess that's me, though.

As for worrying about stalkers, I don't. I mean, have you seen me? No one would come within fifty feet!

I won't razz someone if he or she doesn't post face pics, though. It is all a personal decision. Of course, I think Mokum should post his face cause he is a cute mo fo!

It's my personal feeling that no one here is ready to see a mixture of Medusa, The Swamp Thing, The Mummy, and Lucille Ball.

As someone who is lucky enough to know her in real life, I can tell you that she lies lol

She's a beauty, inside and out. Just too much of a rebel to ever use any AV, of herself or not.


And yes I post my face and certain body parts, although it took me awhile to show my face. I'm not sure why it did here, because my pictures are on three seperate web sites for chat rooms and even while I use my face av's I think I'd be surprised if someone actually recognized me. People tend to look a little different from pictures than in person... someone might think I look familiar which I hear a lot anyway.
