For the online community I run, we lock threads we don't delete them. Sometimes they are moved, but we let the parties know ahead of time so they don't get pissed off.

We also email folks directly for the same reasons.

That would take a lot of friggin work to send out emails... I can see them already.

Hi, Username:

Your thread entitled "Better Sheep Sex" has been pwnd from the Pokemon board to an entirely different website!

To view this thread, point your browser to: www.LittleMermaid.com/forum . (u will n33d 2 regist4r a n00b account there, haha! :D )

You will also need 500 posts before you can start a thread requesting why your thread was moved. But don't postwhore! You will be pwnd if you post in access of (3) posts a day!

In addition, we have lockt it, lolz! You will need 1,000 posts before your thread is reviewed after that, you will need to wait 20 years for it to be unlocked! :nana:

LOL, thanks for giving me a smile to start the day...I love it.....unfortunately sometimes the reality is even sadder. :rose:

Actually we don't have to send out many because my members actually act like adults :) So it isn't a lot of work. The site gets 18MM pages views a month btw...so it's not like it's small. Granted it isn't as huge as this one, but it is in a different genre all together.

Brinnie, the point is this, rather than throw fits, resolve things rationally and you get a rational response.

Oh I know, I was just making the point that there are many ways to do things and there isn't one right way. :) If folks accepted personal responsibility, we wouldn't really need mods :) In any case, I agree with you Etoile.

And if that doesn't meet with your approval, there are other boards, other places for you to go. No one's keeping you here against your will. If you're unhappy here...

Let's see, you're about as dumb as a fucking brick... Did you not see this post?

Is that it?

I mean, is that all?

In all my 5000 posts I don't recall saying: "LADGY IS LITEROTICA".

Did that make sense?
I guess it didn't make sense to you.

No kidding. Brinnie, is it absolutely necessary to disrespect people and be so rude? Sir W deserves your respect, not sophmoric tauntings and rudeness. I do believe you owe him an apology.

Yeah, and if that happens I'll eat my hat.

I don't know why you all go to threads she started. It's bound to be full of rudeness and melodrama. I only came cause I heard she was rude to Sir W. I won't be back.

Not all are bad...and this is not aimed at you gracie or anyone in particular, just something I thought might be worth saying, even at the risk of being jumped on and stomped!! :D I actually think Brinnie has a lot of good things to say often and is a rare breed in today's world in that she will open her mouth and loudly protest the oppression of her or other's rights, even if it does not sit well with all, many who share her view but just hope it goes away. Contrary to earlier times when I often thought she was perhaps just bored, I have watched and come to admire her spunk and dedication to what she believes....after all, of late her protests have been to do with the new censorship laws of the US and restricting freedom of speech which most of us here proclaim we value highly...so is she that far of base and different to us? Like all of us here, sometimes because she has been attacked before or she reads something from a different angle, she expects and reads an attack where one was not perhaps intended....not that unusual in cyberspace as we all know. :catroar:

Brinnie has a point in her view that if everyone sits on their hands and zips their mouths, one by one all the rights that have been won over time will be eroded without much more than a whimper and a pile of grumbled under the breath complaints. It has happened over and over in history and yet each time it raises its ugly head again people go to the slaughter silently and compelled to just accept and hope change will happen miraculously on it's own or through the efforts of a few.....it doesn't usually work well that way. Like Brinnie I have had a history of sticking my hand up when I see something not quite right, sometimes paying dearly for doing so, but have never regretted it and have even at times managed to take on and win battles against government and community groups who would push their own agenda onto the whole community. :nana: Maybe her approach does not suit everyone, maybe she does not waste time dressing it up pretty, or her targets perhaps may not appear to some to be correct, but then I see others have a similar approach, as in loud and/or seemingly rude, and be accepted  ....don't be distracted by the messenger and/or delivery, listen to the message and think ahead to what it all means for everyone in all ways, not just here and now.
