Does your husband know you’re here?

At the height of the 50 Shades of Gray craze, I bought the book for my OH at the airport, for her to read on holiday. I hoped that it might trigger some sort of reaction and even rekindle our sex life.

Her only reaction: “it’s not very well written”.

So here I stay 🤷🏻‍♂️

My Bill knows and enjoys the results. He does sit beside me and makes suggestions on which threads to check out once in a while on here and in the chat. We've read lots of stories together, fun to get some new ideas for our own fun.
Bill and I play together on here
Not yours lol

It’s really not very well written, though.

I’m a full on pervert, and it left me cold. There’s better smut on here for free.

I am sorry but that made me laugh. I could picture you looking at her and saying, "Really, that is your only thought?"

I heard about 50 Shades from the radio. I remember it was some morning radio talking about all of the gray ties being sold out and I was thinking why. Then I heard the rest of the story and thought there must be a lot of pent up fantasies that I was not aware of.

50 shades is legitimately horrible. And I fucking love smut. The writing is sooo bad. I think it was initially fan fiction based on the Twilight movies?

It’s a cringe a minute. Seriously. It’s comically bad erotica.

You hit the nail on the head.

However badly written it was, it did achieve one thing in that it brought the topic of sex out into the open for a year. Men and especially women, for whom the height of passion was missionary on a Friday night after the news at ten, felt able to talk about it freely in bars and pubs and restaurants and living-rooms and parks… Some (like my SO) shut it down, others got a taste for it and expanded their horizons.

Good for them, I say.

I never read the books so I can't say anything. The books did seem to strike a cord with some women though. I wonder if there are a lot latent subs out there?

I agree. There was a lot of buzz around those books and the movies. It was a great conversation starter too.
