Dragonball Recall

"...better," Trunks finished the sentance. He thought so anyway. The rosy blush stained his cheeks as her arms went around his neck, her muscles body close to his as land passed by beneath them.

He smiled, just enjoying the feeling of holding her like this. Of the smooth skin of her arms on his neck. For some reason...he felt like there was not need to talk right now. However...a blue-white nimbus surrounded him as he put on more speed. If Goten saw them like this, the moment would be ruined. And if Gohan and Videl saw...Trunks felt he might be in big trouble. He knew that Gohan was stronger than he was, though he wasn't sure what the scholar-warrior would think of this. Best not to find out right now.

Pan just smiles and nods, she too thinks there is no need to talk and she hugs Trunks a little closer. She is so into the feeling of Trunks holding her again that she doesn't feel Goten's power as he zooms by. When he stops her eyes go wide hoping he doesn't say or do anything to ruin this, she smiles when all he does is tease Trunks a little and zoom off again.

Suddenly, a blur shot by Trunks and Pan. A bit ahead, Goten, with ChiChi on his back, stopped suddenly and turned to face the two.

"Who's the slowpoke NOW?" Goten laughed and took off again at great speed.

Trunks let out a breath of relief as Goten whizzed by. He was okay witht he slowpoke comment...he'd been much more worried about his friend commenting on he and Pan's...well...snuggling. He really hoped that Chi Chi hadn't noticed.

Wait a minute...slowpoke! Trunks felt a surge of annoyance. He couldn't just let Goten win the race...but if he did he would get to fly with Pan longer.

He glanced down, noting the happy look on her lovely face. Yeah...Goten could have this one. Very quietly, just to himself, he replied, "I am...and for good reason."

Pan sighs in relief as Goten and Chi-Chi fly off. She smiles up at Trunks when he looks down at her and she hugs him a little tighter, still saying nothing.

Trunks found himself blushing as Pan hugged him closer. He could feel her breath on cheek, smell the scent of her hair mixing with her own light, airy fragrence. He felt suddenly warm as the heat of her body added to his own, each brief contact of their bodies sending an electric thrill through him. It was enough to make hima bit light headed as the pair soared toward their goal, Goten and Chi Chi now fading rapidly in the distance, Gohan and Videl coming slowly closer.

There were so many things he wanted to say at that moment. Yet he couldn't get them to make sense even in his own head. He nevertheless started to say, "Pan...I..." Then he stopped, and shook his head, a gentle smile on his face, and fell silent once more.

The flight seemed to go quickly, though Trunks knew it should have taken nearly an hour. It seemed like less than ten minutes, but suddenly he looked up and the island the Tournament was on was directly ahead of them. Trunks sighed, feeling conflicted. He didn't want to let her go, but he had to...and he was eager to get the Tournament started. "We're here...and so fast." The mixed feelings, as well as his surprise told in his voice. He looked down at her again, almost as if he meant to burn the image of her like this into his mind to keep forever, then he nodded. "It's time."

The pair descended, lightly touching down in the middle of the cobbled street leading to the stadium. Trunks looked at the spectacle of the massive structure, the ornate decorations that festooned the sidewalks and roads, the buzz of the arriving spectators. All before realizing he had yet to set Pan down. Laughing nervously, he set her down on the ground. "There you are, Pan." "I hope you enjoyed your flight with Trunks Airways," he grinned. "Remember, you're always a welcome passenger with me."

Up ahead, Goten was waving at them. "I guess we should go register, huh?" "I wonder what the preliminaries will be like this year...hope it's not that stupid punching machine..."

Pan closes her eyes as she holds him tight, reveling in the feel of his body against hers. She listens to him closely as he speaks but says nothing in return, until he makes the comment that they are there. Opening her eyes she looks up at Trunks and then over at the Tournament island and sighs, she too doesn't want this to end so soon. She laughs softly as they land and he seems to forget to put her down. When he does she smiles up at him.

"Oh really? Guess I'll have to make Trunks Airways my personal flight service." she smiles and starts to walk with him.

"I just hope your father doesn't break it again this year if it is." she looks up at Trunks again, smiling wider then before.

"Yeah, where IS your father, Trunks?" Goten asked as he approached he and Pan.

Chi-Chi was walking beside him, than walked ahead and behind Trunks and Pan to greet Gohan and Videl, who had just landed.

Trunks laughed, "Probably angry enough to blow up the planet right now." "A few months ago, Mom got on hima botu not spending enough time with her...you should have heard the arguments...I wouldn't have gotten between the two of them for all the zeni in the world." He shivered at the memory, his parents arguements were truly a spectacle of fury often punctuated by explosions as his father sought release by tossing off energy blasts. "Anyway...she ended up bullying him into agreeing to a cruise." "Father amy be the most powerful guy on Earth right now, but Mom is one of the only people he'll never beat." "It turns out that the cruise coinciides with the Tournament." The half-saiyin shook his head, "Man, was he PISSED when he found out."

Trunks shrugged. "Without getting into the gory details of the ensuing arguing and threats, she ended up making him go on the cruise." "I bet he'll be watching it from there...and cursing that he;s not here to show us how much we've slacked off." Trunks winked at his best friend, "In other words, when Bra shows up, she'll be here by herself." "Think you'll be able to control yourself, Goten?"

The small group had walked up to the registration desk by this point, Gohan giving Trunks a somewhat suspicious look. Trunks pretended not to notice, though he hoped that he only felt like he was sweating under the older warrior's gaze.

A monk in a saffron robe was manning the station, "Good morning." "This is the registration to fight in the Tournament." "If you are looking for the seating, I can direct you."

Trunks shook his head, "No, we're in the right spot." "We're here to enter."

The man looked at the small group, obviously uncertain. "Well...you don't really look like fighters to me, but it's an open door policy." He pushed forward several clipboards. "Just put down your name and other information, and you must sign the waiver too."

Trunks began to fill out the short but annoying form. "Fine." "Hey, how are they doing the prelims this year?"

The monk blinked at him. "Huh?" "Oh I see...you must be a fan of the Tournament to ask about that." "Well, there was a suggestion to go back to the old method of fighting all the preliminary fights and taking the top 16 fighters..." Trunks perked up a bit at that, but the monk continued, "however it was decided to go with the strongest fighters as determined by the punch power machine the great Hercule instituted."

Trunks sighed, "Awww...what a letdown." "I hate that thing...." Trunks handed the completed form back dejectedly.

The monk sniffed, "Be that as it may Mr...Briefs, the great Hercule is the greatest..." The monk checked the handed back forms again. "T-Trunks Briefs?" "Of Capsule Corportation?"

Trunks grinned, "That's right, and a returning competitor." He gestured to Goten and Pan, "As are my friends here."

The monk had paled further, "S-son Goten?" "Son Pan?" "Y-you're all back?"

"Looks like it," Trunks said, somewhat pleased at the little man's shock. "I suggest you start making the plaque ont he trophy out for each one of us now." "If you've seen us before, you know that's it's going to be one of us...probably me, but miracles do happen."

Goten felt relieved to hear Vegeta wasn't going to be here for the tournament. One reason was that meant he stood a chance in getting to the finals.

The other reason, as Trunks said, was that he wasn't going to be watching over Pan.

He just laughed off Trunks question and walked with the group to the sign-in desk.

He laughed at hearing the punch meater was bringing brought back. He than elbowed Trunks in the ribs.

"Stop making lies. You won't beat me this year. The only reason you beat me back in the Junior leagues is you cheated and lied to me." he smirked.

He than started filling out his form and when he got to the "Name" line, he thought out loud. "Hmmmm, how about... Super Saiyaman Jr." he said, sneering at Gohan.

"Seriously, bro... you were such a loser."

ooc: do we have a Bra?

Pan stays close to Trunks as they walk, smiling and giggling softly as he talks about Vegeta and Bulma fighting over the cruise. She waits just behind Trunks as he talks to the monk. Her smile gets huge as the monk is stunned when he realizes who they all are and she waves at him.
"And I was only 4 last time." she says after Trunks finishes bragging to the monk.
She then takes the form and fills it out, shaking her head and laughing as the monk says that the prelims are with the punch power machine.

Majuub snapped out of his meditation and heard some recognizable voices at the sign in table. Finally his friends had made it to the tournament. Majuub stretched alittle as he stood up. He was always stiff after meditating. Walking out to meet his friends, brought a huge smile to his face. "Nice to see you all again. It has been a long time and I can sense that you all have been training." Majuub smirked as he knew the competition was going to be fun. He always wanted to test his mettle against the two greatest warriors sons. "By the way, how does the prelimaries go again this year? I forgot to ask. It's been so long since I was in one of these." Majuub laughed.

"Well, all we really have to do is punch this machine that rates our strength. They did it last time we were here and it was a major snore," Goten replied, giving a fake yawn.

ooc: where did our evil bad girl go?

Gohan glared at Goten briefly at the "Saiyaman Jr." comment. Then he smirked. "Two things, Goten." First is just 'cause you're irresponsible doesn't meant he rest of us are." "Second...the Saiyaman gig?" Gohan looked over to where Videl and Chi Chi were buying tickets for the stands. Then he leaned in, winking at his daughter, "Babe magnet."

Trunks was busy greeting Majuub. "Haven't seen you in a while." "I heard you've been staying at Dende's." Trunks then nodded in confirmation of Goten's complaint about the machine. "Yeah...I hate that thing." "It's so bad because we have to be really careful...one of our normal punches would destroy it, no problem."

The monk cleared his throat, "Well, I've heard some fighter brag before, but you must be the worst!" He sniffed dismissively, "No one could beat the mighty Hercule's punch score of 243." "Now..,since you are previous competitors you get to go first." "Move along, now."

Bridgette

I stood there having filledout my forms earlier I checked out the competition. The rest of these idiots were nothings but the group that just arrived had potential particularly the young girl, her friend, and her brother. I stepped into line and waited to hit the punch machine. After being hit on and gawked at it was finally my turn. I flicked it with my index finger and the machine flew to 237.

"Not bad for a little tap" I said walking away while everyone stard and the monk penciledme into thetournament

Goten rolled his eyes and looked around at the crowd when Majuub showed up. He didn't really like the guy. He was annoying and had NO life outside of fighting. He was almost like Vegeta, but not as cool. He glanced over to the punching machine and froze.

Goten stood there transfixed on one of the competitors. She was beautiful, with red hair and a great body. Judging by the high number she scored by flicking the machine, she was as strong as the group, if not more.

He shook his head when he was next in line.

"Remind me again why we have to hide our powers?" Goten whispered to Trunks.

Pan just giggles at her father's "Babe Magnet" comment. She smiles at Majuub and waves but she doesn't say anything, when the monk says no one could beat Hercule's score she can barely keep from laughing. When she notices Goten staring at the girl at the punching machine she hits him in the arm.

"It's not nice to stare at strange girls Goten." her eyes widen as she sees the score and leans closer to him, "I don't think it's safe either." she smiles a little and follows Trunks through the line.

She sighs when her Uncle asks such a stupid question but says nothing.

Trunks smirked at Goten's question. "Well if you ask me...we shouldn't." Pan's eyes widened, though her father's just narrowed. "For the machine, yes we should just tap it." "Consider it an exercise in control." Trunks turned to face the whole group, his wicked smile reminiscent of his father, it was the same gleeful anticipation of battle, the love of power, and the need for it to be recognized. "Before, Father, Gohan and the others held themselves back, didn't use the Super Saiyan transformation because they didn't want to be recognized from the Cell Games." "Well, none of us were at the Cell Games, and no remembers Majin Buu or our fighting him either." "So...I say we fight with everything we have."

Trunks looked at Pan and Majuub. "I won't go Super Saiyan against someone who can't...but if I come up against you, Goten." The smirk returned, Trunks suddenly looking more like Vegeta that ever. "When that happens, I want you to fight with all your power." "That will make it meaningful."

The conversation had been conducted in low tones while they waited for their turn at the machine. Trunks watched the red haired woman. She was strong all right...but was it just strength or did she have the speed and power to match? More importantly...where had she come from? People of that power didn't just come out of the woods one day...although, if Trunks thought about it, Goku had.

"Hurry up, Goten." "Just keep the thing in one piece...and don't hit it too hard or they;ll think it's broken and we'll be standing here for a half hour."

Pan is shocked atfirst at Trunks' comment then she smiles.

"You're right, it wouldn't be fun if we didn't give it all we got." she says to Trunks, she burns inside wanting to tell her secret but at the same time not wanting to, she looks at Goten impatiently.

"Yeah, come on Goten, stop holding the line up." she says.

Majuub had always taken a likeing to Trunks. Even though he was Vegeta's son, he reminded him of Goku. "I've been helping Dende and Popo out." Majuub smiled as he waited in line for the punch bag. "I can't turn Super Saiyan, but I'm expecting an all out fight. Then we can laugh about it after it's over." Majuub walked up to the bag and focused hard to control his strength as he touched it with his extended finger. "240" was registered on the machine. "See you all at the tournament" Majuub laughed as he walked through the crowd to the locker room.

Trunks gave up waiting for Goten, who was still staring after the red haired woman. She was attractive...that much was true, and she seemed strong. Still...it bothered him that such a person would just appear. Whenever that happened in the past, it meant trouble. "Goten." "Goten, hurry up." ".......GOTEN!!"

The purple haired half-saiyan rolled her eyes. "I hope you don't have to fight her, Goten." "You'll be too bust ogling her to fight...move." He pushed his way past his pole-axed friend. Coming up to the punch machine, he glared at it, wanting to smash the damn thing into pieces. But that would just hold things up, he wanted to get to the action. He leaned forward, giving the pad a light but firm tap with his palm. The machine rocked a moment, spitting out a score of "221."

Trunks heard the silence that came from most of the lined up competitors. Three people in a row that had scored that high? It couldn't be possible. The monk with the clipboard nodded, making a note of his name. He waved to the others, "I'm going to the locker room and change, I'll meet you all in the fighter's ready room."

Pan laughs as Trunks pushes past Goten as he stares at the girl, she follows suit, clapping as Trunks gets his score. She walks up to the machine and stands still for a bit as if she's sizing it up. Then she stretches her shoulders out a little and gets into fighting stance. She smiles as she does a very fast spinning punch to hit the machine, but she stops just short of it then lightly taps the pad, hoping no one saw.

"YEAH!! Look at my score!!" she jumps up and down acting kinda childish and surprised, " 242, ha ha ha ha, i'm almost as strong as Hercule!!" she smiles and walk off towards the locker rooms, smiling to herself.

The locker room was pretty impressive, even compared to what Trunks was used to. Hot tubs, steam rooms, and other relaxation/rehabilitation equipment abounded. The chamber was large and spacious, with a seperate area for warming up or training. That didn't have the high tech implements he used, like the gravity generator or drones, but it was still quite a set up.

Trunks moved to an empty space, pulling a capsule from his pocket. Being President of Capsule Corporation, he had everything capsulized...it was just too easy, never having to carry anything around other than a box of capsules. Hitting the stopper, he tossed it out, a puff of smoke bursting forth as the objects within returned to thier true size. A rack of clothing now stood in the empty space, and Trunks began to peruse it, still unsure of what to wear. There wre several uniforms like the one he trained and fought in as a child, the outfit he wore on hsi adventures with Pan and Goku, a set of Saiyan armor the Trunks from the alternate future had worn, the Great Saiyaman costume (How did that get there?), and a few of the simple unitard outfits that his father had worn at the tournament all thsoe years ago when Buu had first appeared.

His father would be watching the Tournament...and furious that he couldn't take part. Maybe it would do good if Trunks paid homage to his father...though this would also have to be his outfit, not Vegeta's. Yeah, yeah, that would work fine. A quick shower, a change, then the others should be ready and the Tournament could finally start.

_____________

Trunks stepped out into the fighter's ready room noting that Majuub was already present. Grinning at the fused warrior, Trunks hastily moved over to the prepared food and snatched several plates. Best get to it before Goten showed up.

He had chosen to wear a tight black sleeveless bodysuit, much like the one Vegeta had worn when he had fought Majin Buu. It had a higher neckline and rather than royal blue it was the black Turnks usually preferred. The gloves were in the style of the armor his father had worn for so long, but instead of white leather they were his usual brown. The garment clung to his body, muscles rippling with every movement, showcasing his hard muscled body while not restricting his movement at all.

Trunks claimed a table, waving Majuub over. "Grab something to eat, there won't be anything left when Goten gets out here." "So, you've been training with Dende, right?" "Did you use the Hyperbolic Time Chamber at all?" "I heard that he had it rebuilt just in case it would be needed again." Trunks kept glancing up at the entrances to the room as he dug into the food. The sooner the others got here, the sooner the action would start.

(OCC: I was going to just make up the fighter that we aren't controlling, as well as randomly making up the brackets. Is everyone cool with that?)

Goten smacked Trunks in the back of the head as he passed ahead of him in line.

Once it was his turn, he just walked passed it, sticking his hand out and bopping it. He didn't bother checking his score as he followed Trunks and Pan into the locker room.

He found an empty locker and started undressing. He pulled out his family's traditional fighting gi, with a few alterations to it. The colors were basically reversed, with the undershirt a dark orange and the outer gear a dark dark blue, almost black.

Majuub smiled at Trunks and walked over to join him. Majuub wasn't hungry and never ate before a battle. "Thanks anyways but I ate before I got here." "Yeah Dende is a real help. Especially when i need a quick heal to continue training. The main reason why i was up there with Dende was to help fix the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Which we finally got up and running. It's a little now though. You can go in five times instead of two. One of Popo's ideas. I tried it out once but I wanted to keep the rest in case of troubling times. I'm the strongest I have ever been after training in there and it was really hard to not do it again." Majuub smiled as Trunks stuffed his face with food before Goten shows up. "This tournament looks like it's going to be a dandy one." "Although I have been getting a bad feeling about some of the competitors. Have you?"
