Dragons and Magic II: The Hunt for DreamWeaver

Idrial and Co.

The trio of important Lizard men looked at each other, speaking to each other in their alien, hissing language softly to themselves. Occasionally, they beckoned to one of the Lizardlings which surrounded them all, speaking to that one for a moment before resuming their own council. One that was also beckoned forward was the spokes-lizard who had 'captured' them back at the net. That one made many chopping motions while speaking in his language which had set the largest lizardling to thumping the butt of his spear on the rock in appreciation.

"Soos we have agreed." The chieftain finally said. "Yousss will bees questioned! Takesss them!"

Almost at once, the pack of Lizardlings descended on the group. Scaled hands pulled the group apart, separating the group into individuals and carrying them away.....

**((PM's to follow))**

Tiana (and maybe Draken)

Tiana and Tyler were happily attacking a newly arrived lump of hardtack bread and cheese and fairly oblivious to the patrons around them. They ignored the hungry children in the corner, and the children ignored them. All in all, a good trade-off so Tiana was able to enjoy a warm corner and edible food for a rare, precious moment.

Naturally, it didn't last.

Two men, dressed in the colors of the City Watch, entered into the common room.
"Barkeep," one of them called out. "We are looking for-"

The first hadn't even completed his sentence before the second clapped eyes on the duo in the corner.

"There he is. YOU, boy! Come over here!"

Silverfang

Silverfang sprang into the air, quickly rising up above the forest canopy. One he had, Silverfang realized two important things. One the forest was large, huge in fact, with green spreading out all across the horizon before him. Second, the ancient forest was strong and thick. Too thick for him to track his prey from the air.

He landed, not far from where he had taken off, but it was not important. Folding his wings tightly to his back, he darted forward, easily cutting through the foliage and between trees.
He covered ground quickly and his sensitive nose was able to follow the goblins with little difficulty. He soon overtook his quarry and looked down at them, peaking out from where his beast form crouched, watching and waiting to spring.

The five little goblins had met up with another group, now there seemed to be seven goblins, but these two new goblins each rode a giant wolf. In addition, each wolf had a second goblin slung across their backs, both passengers looked to be badly hurt.

seven now plus if they refused to stay out of it two giant warg pelts it be a fine days hunt and the day was barely half way over he'd also try to leave one alive for the moment so he could question but any case he'd have a hefty profit as he watched the pack approach he wondered if he should use his ice storm breath

but he could only use the freeze once per day so he preferred to save it as a last resort they where now with in striking distance so silver lounged out and and killed the first two goblins neatly by slicing them in half with his claws wile at the same time hamstringing a third walking one with his tail blade

that left him with the four on the wargs he turned to face the wargs and spoke to them in warg once more glad the wizard that made him gave him the gift of tougns the wargs never even let him finished the first tried to leap at silvers throat he rolled to the side and with that roll removed the Head of the second warg that had tried to attack him from the rear

as it fell he heard a dull crunch that told him the rider had been crushed or pined neath his mount that left the warg that had lounge at him and its rider at this point he felt a sharp pain in his leg the other warg had slipped in and sunk its teeth in to his hind leg big mistake he wiped his tail forward and sliced its Head clean off

this rider was quicker than the first it jumped off and charged silver who raised up on his hind legs and flicked his tail tween his legs spearing the goblin on his tail the battle finished he look round and saw none the goblins where left

damn he said why they all ways fight it was then he remembered the one he hamstrung but alas it had killed its self stead of staying for a chat oh well he skinned the wargs and lobed off the heads of the goblin which he put in with his own stuff then he leaped in to the air and started toward town planning to land just with in the forest boundary's and walk back the rest of the in human form and once he'd collected his bounty's he stop at a pub and get some ale

Draken looked up when the two men of the City Watch entered the tavern. He fingered the hilt of one of his scimitars and gauged the distance between the City Watch and himself. After a moment he guessed that he wouldnt be able to get them from where he stood. Smiling for a moment, he slipped his hand into his cloak and slipped a kukri free. Draken knew the kurki had good balance and would work well for throwing.

"Barkeep,We are looking for-"

Draken readied the kukri waiting to see who they were after. Then the second one spoke. "There he is. YOU, boy! Come over here!"

Draken reacted instantly, his hand flying straight out and releasing the kukri. It flew end over end to slam into a wooden post in front of the guards faces. Standing to his feet, Draken looked at the guards faces, his dragon helm sinister and forbodding. "It would be wise to turn around and leave. Oh and make sure you don't come back, otherwise your families might be without bread winners and you wouldnt want that would you?"

"There he is. YOU, boy! Come over here!"

At first, Tiana had no idea what was going on, but soon enough the pointing Town Guard (in her general direction) and the scrambling of Ty next to her to get away pretty much clued her in.

She avoided screaming, and indeed panicking as she tried to stuff as much food into the folds in her tattered clothing before scrambling off the bench. She hastily overstuffed food into her mouth, making it hard for her to shut it.

She looked over to the already escaping Tyler and a light thud into wood made her turn around. She stared with wide eyes as an elvish figure seemed to melt from the shadows and confront the soldiers. She blinked, knowing somehow that he was intervening on her behalf. She looked up at the quivering blade that now rested just before the guard's faces.

It was sufficient to say that he was giving her a chance to get away. She had no idea why, but she caught the stranger's eye and mouthed a quick thank you before she turned around and dashed through the kitchen and out the back door.

Tyler had vanished.

"The underworld take him!" she cursed and then was soon running up the street, keeping to the back ways but close to the tavern. She wanted to see the stranger again. Her curiousity was simply too powerful to ignore. Besides... the Voices had never been this loud before.

Milaashi, Lucian and Garik

They had come from three very different corners or the world... the distant barbarian plains, the wandering paths which criss-crossed the land, and even the sea. Different yes, but each had a similar objective, coming toward what they suspected was where great things were happening. Fearsome, terrible, dangerous things yes, but great all the same.

Something was stirring in the world which forebode ill, something strong enough that Milaashi had felt it deep under the water where the Nixie had lived for so long and had compelled her to venture forth, to help soothe the suffering that she felt was coming.

Something which had called to Lucian, ever the wanderer, to come and lend his talents to fight the black clouds he envisioned on the horizons. There was a disturbing darkness in those proverbial black clouds, something which tugged at his nocturnal instincts and called the hunger deep within him to pound against the inside of his chest with desire.

Something even called to Garik, the hint of fortune and glory. He too, could feel the clouds of war moving, and beneath them would surely be the gathering of birds, which of course hinted at the prospect of battle and battle meant.....fortune and glory! Whatever it was in the air, it was happening here, somewhere here would be the place...and when this storm broke, Garik would be there to fight the evil hordes, save the women and partake in the wondrous, glorious victory feasts! (Naturally!)

Milaashi and Lucian had fallen together as their prospective paths had crossed en-rout to the border city of Trennau. Trennau had put out the call for swords for hire, fearing invasion by the nearby humanoid beast tribes. The city was the largest city on the human frontier where it bordered the deep forests and farther north, the hills. As they had joined into the forest, they had crossed paths with the warrior, Garik, as he came across the forest from his homeland in the West, toward Trennau.

As their goals seemed to coincide, the three had agreed to travel together.

They had shared information and rumors. All manor of things seemed to abound in these lands. Human and elvish settlements alike in the forests had been ravaged and destroyed. The city of Trennau had placed bounties for the ears of monsters but also was filled with the stories of armies of beast men forming up under the banners of demon lords from the Red Mountain. Likewise stories spoke of swarms of undead spilling out from the swamplands of the south to terrorize the elvish kingdoms while giant nightmares flew overhead, exterminating everything they encountered. Trouble seemed to be gathering at every point of the compass.

Now, as the trio passed through the trees, Garik on point detected the faint smell of smoke in the air, pressing forward, he saw five human males, each wearing the colors of the Trennau city guard and sitting around a simple campfire staring forlornly and silently at the ground, longswords lying next to them as they sat.

Draken and Tiana

Both guards and the kids jumped as the kuri slapped into the wooden support beam, and then turned to see where the weapon had come from.

"It would be wise to turn around and leave. Oh and make sure you don't come back, otherwise your families might be without bread winners and you wouldn't want that would you?"

"Stand down citizen." the first one said. " This boy is wanted for questioning for murder. It is none of your concern."

There was a moment of hesitation, a point where silence and tension hung heavy in the air as everyone stared down at the others. It was at that moment that the boy chose to bolt for the back door. The sudden movement inspired a burst of movement from everybody. Weapons were drawn, people scampered out of the way, the barman dropped down behind his bar and the girl followed the lead of her male dining partner and ran for the exit.

Tiana zipped out the back and into the street, she looked up and down quickly for Tyler and cursed when she did not see him.

"The underworld take him!" she swore.

Back inside, the sounds of fighting burst out as other patrons began fleeing the scene in every direction. In her head, she got a very weird, giddy sensation as a familiar voice sang in a cheery, child-like manor:

'Dance, dance, dance, dance; We dance the dance of death.'
'We fight and hew and rip and tear; Until we're out of breath!"

"Hey, Tee!" another voice finally reached her. She looked up to see Tyler just down the street, beckoning to her.
"Come on!"

Idrial and Co.

The Interrogation: Reposted by permission

Idrial:
Idrial was dragged away by three of the Lizardlings and taken farther into the crude village, As she craned her neck about, she caught glimpses of her companions as they were taken in separate directions.
She staggered for a moment as the Lizardlings suddenly let her go and formed a rough circle around her, weapons in hand, preventing her from going anywhere.
"Now wees ssspeaksss." Came a hissed voice from behind her. Idrial turned to see the eldest of the Lizardmen standing before her, feathered staff in hand and the bony necklace swaying as he walked. "Yousss asssweresss true." he said, the words coming more of a command than anything else.
"Wees captured yousss in our landsss leading a pack of Dead Onesss towards us. Why have you comes here and wheresss are you from?"
"Whysss do you wish to attack the Peoplesss?"
"What do you knowsesss about the Dead Onesss?"
"Who isss your leader and why?"
"What do you knowesss about the Dreaming God and the Blasphemersesss?"
Idrial faced the elder and debated a moment only on how much of the truth to tell, before answering as she didn't want to give knowledge to anyone about Thorn and the dragons or that Rhys was with them because it would only increase the danger to them. We were fighting the dead ones in the swamp but could not fend them all off, so ran to regroup, and stay alive. We did not know we ran toward your lands, and mean your people no harm. I am the leader of our party and ask your forgiveness in our tress pass.

We are from many different places come together because of the dead ones attacking, we have lost some companions on our journey and meet new ones. The dead ones are not only here, but all over and we are on a quest to put the dreaming god back to sleep. we thought perhaps his waking might be connected to the dead ones and whoever leads them.. we know not much more than that. Deciding to take this opportunity to ask a question of her own not knowing how they would react but hoping he would answer, and not take it the wrong way she asked.

when we arrived you mentioned that someone had approached you about raising the dead ones... Who was it and where can we find him to stop him, or her from making more?

Ona:
Ona had only just sat up, her head still spinning from her earlier exertion of power when the Lizardlings pounced, practically yanking her up by her hair and arms. Three of the Lizardmen pulled her into the nearest hut, made of twined branches and mud bricks. Once inside, they shoved her down again and stepped away, letting another come forward.

That one was none other than the middle-aged lizardman who had issued the command for them all to be separated. He did not have his spear, but a hefty stone axe hung on a twined belt, from which also dangled any number of oddities, trophies and trinkets. He had a flat stone with an engraving of a seashell hung around his neck. This stone was held up and his forked tongue flicked out to it for a moment before he let it lay back.

"I am Sisswa, Chieftain of the Peoplesss. You will anssswer quesssstionsss now."

Ona had been angry at being dragged away in such a manner but she had controlled it well. She understood that until these creatures were convinced that she and her companions were on the side of good that they were suspect and would be treated as such. All she knew to do was to tell the truth and hope. She drew herself up onto her knees, sitting back on her heels and squaring her shoulders. She held the Lizardman's gaze and bowed her head slightly in respect.

"Greetings, Siswa" she said placing her closed fist against her chest. "I am called Ona, I will answer whatever questions you have to the best of my knowledge.

"We captured yousss in our landsss leading a pack of Dead Onesss towards us. Why have you comes here and wheresss are you from?"

The Dead Ones ambushed us in the swamp, Siswa. " Ona put as much sincerity as she could muster into her tone and held eye contact with the elder. "We had fought them back some but were trying to make our way to dryer ground to give us a better advantage against them. We come from the mountain keep of the dragons, sent by Thorn herself to seek out the evil one who has raised so many of the dead....so that we can send Dreamweaver back to his peaceful rest."

"Why do you wish to attack the Peoplesss?"

Ona thought for a moment before answering. "I am not certain what passed between my companions and your warriors, Siswa. I was rendered unconscious during the battle with the Dead Ones. But I do know that the warriors I travel with are good and honorable, they would only fight to protect each other and continue our quest."

"What do you knowssss about the Dead Onesss?"

"All I know is that they are under the control of the same evil that raised Dreamweaver, the one you call the Dreaming God. It is that one who is the true enemy of the People, of all people in this land." Ona sighed and sorrow showed in her eyes. "This is the one who must be stopped so that the Dead Ones can rest once more and the People can live in peace"

"Who isss your leader and why?"

"The woman, Idrial, she of two bloods leads our party." Ona hesitated now, unsure of exactly what to say. "Thorn, the dragon matriarch, chose her to lead us. Thorn is old and wise and knows much that I cannot begin to understand."

"What do you knowsss about the Dreaming God and the Blasphemersesss?"

"I know only what was told to us by Thorn before she sent us on our quest. Dreamweaver has been pulled from his grave by one who is very evil, his soul is held separate from his body and that is how the evil one controls him and uses him to destroy. We must find this...container...that holds his soul and use it to return Dreamweaver to his rest and end this abomination." Ona looked intently into Siswa's eyes, leaning forward earnestly. "I know that you have no reason to believe me, Siswa, and no reason to trust any of us, but our quest is true and our intentions honest. We will each fight to our last breath to see this evil put to an end, for the good of all."

O'Bonn:
O'Bonn was nearly tackled as the lizardmen pounced at their leader's command. Rough hands pulled at him, dragging him bodily away from the others as they too, were seized and dragged away. He was taken down to the very edge of the stone and earth rim of the village and was nearly pitched back into the water of the swamp that surrounded them all. His quick reflexes prevented him from falling into the muddy water, skidding to a stop with only getting his feet wet.

He turned, only to come face-to-speartip with the great, hulking Lizardman that had been present with the other 'leaders'.

Nearly seven foot tall, the Lizardman hissed menacingly at O'Bonn.
"I isss Tzass," he said. "WarBossss of the Peoplsssess. Yoos speakses to me true, or I killses you now, Pointss Ear."

The High Warrior was outmatched, physically and weapon-wise. He was captured. He was bound. And he was being questioned.

There was a code among the High Warrior caste of the Great Northern Land. It was a code that a High Warrior learned the first day of his training, before he or she could even hold a bow or sword. Part of that code stated, "...and thou pain of death be upon me, I shalt not reveal words to the enemy that may bring death to my ally or dishonor to my home".

And for an instant, the pride of the Elves made O'Bonn consider spitting in the lizardman's face.

And then rational thought slapped him like fire from the Great Dragon herself. These creatures were not his enemy.

"Honorable Tzass," he began, first with a bow of his head in respect, "we came this way from the village of Boar's Back, where we crossed a place of most foul death. We crossed into the swamp, searching our way through for the route to DreamWeaver, the one you call the Dreaming God. In the swamp the Dead Ones attacked us, and though we fought them with all we had, they came and came again. Were it not for your striking when you did, we would not be among you to talk and breathe now. For that, I am in your debt and you have my gratitude. I am O'Bonn, and my father is M'Rhun, king of the Great Northern Lands.

"I, nor any with me have any reason to harm your people. We did not know you were of this place, and if we had so, we would have asked you to show us the way.

"What I know of the Dead Ones is they are the work of a necromancer, a sorcerer who brings the dead to walk once more. This necromancer holds power over one who was once dragonkind, and this one was called DreamWeaver. He once lived among Red Mountain with the Great Dragon Thorn herself, but has since been swayed, and turned, and his soul captured. This I heard from Thorn herself, and she speaks only truth.

"My leader here is the woman-elf, one who is of both Elf and Man. She is Idrial Two-Bloods, and she leads us because she is the one who found the boy, the man-child. Do you know of this prophecy? Of how a man-child will end the darkness and prevent a war? He lives, and Idrial, with the others and myself delivered him to Red Mountain where Thorn keeps watch over him.

"It is therefore fallen to us the task of tracking the Dreaming God and his followers, the Blasphemers you spoke of, and destroying them. Once this is done, the prophecy will be fulfilled, and the man-child can take his place as a voice of the free."

O'Bonn then bowed his head once again and waited.

Idrial and Co.

The Decision:

Each of the captives was brought back into the Lizardling village and brought to a great hut in the center. This hut although larger, seemed equally crude, being made of twined branches, thatch and mud bricks. The floor was nothing more than the smooth, slightly sloping bedrock on which the bulk of the village sat upon. Several mats woven from swamp grass lay on the floor and the walls was adorned with crude art or war trophies from past Lizardling activities. The group was quickly reunited here, being dragged or herded in and set down in the center of the room. Many lizardmen came in, standing around the perimeters or else crowded around the structure itself. Many reptilian faces could be seen peeking in through the windows or doorways. It would seem that Idrial and her group here the very highlight of the day's events.
They were not permitted to speak, their attempts to do so being met with a hiss and spear point in their general direction, but at least everyone seemed to be unharmed. They sat together for nearly an hour before the green, scaly tide of lizardmen finally parted, allowing the five interrogators to enter. Each of the five selected a mat at the very head of the room, where the sloping floor was highest and settled down, cross legged and facing the group.
""I am Sissswa, Chieftain of my Peoplesss." Began the center most Lizardman. It was this one who the others seemed to defer to and the same who had called for the separation of the group. Now as he spoke, he motioned to each of those who have entered with him. "Lessshare, Keeper of the Waysss, " he motioned first to the eldest of the lizardmen and then to the great, hulking lizardling and finally the remaining two, "Tzass, Warbosss of the Peoplesss and hisss two Pack leadersss, Basss and Krisss. We have ssspoken about you and have desssided your fate."
Siswa let the moment hang in the air, as if building suspense before revealing a great secret. "Although two of you would not ssspeak with usss, we have desssided that you are not with the Blasphemersss, and that you ssseek to aid the Dreaming God. You will live thisss day. Bring food and water!" he called over their heads to the waiting Lizardlings. There was much hissing and commotion upon the calling of the verdict, but the speartips dropped away almost immediately.

"Now," began the eldest, Leshare." We invitesss you to eatsss with the us here in the Long Houssse and ssspeaksss about the world beyond the Peopless."

Cormac had refused to speak to his captors, his Riada pride forced him to hold his tongue in the face of his captors, only permitting him to announce his name and honors. He still felt a great need to kill something due to the events, but he decided it was unwise and would endanger his comrades. When they were declared to not be a threat, he felt a bit of relief on behalf of his comrades, but a pang of regret that he had been denied the oppurtunity to clean the stain of capture with blood.

"Hey, Tee!" another voice finally reached her. She looked up to see Tyler just down the street, beckoning to her.
"Come on!"

As much as Tiana wanted to go stay and find out who the stranger was, her natural instinct to keep away from any possible trouble was far stronger than her curiosity combined with the singing Voices. She shook her head, willing the buzzing in her mind to stop for the first time as she made a hesitant step towards the anxiously awaiting Ty.

Besides, she reasoned, the stranger had been a man. A elvish man, but a male none the less. Her previous experience with males as old as he had looked was enough to sway her towards her younger companion. She took one last look at the building, briefly wondering what had happened inside before she turned fully towards Tyler and swiftly followed him down the street and into the murky underbelly of the town.

This was where she felt safe. At least, for the moment. She only wondered what would happen when Tyler grew into a man and started to notice her as all the others had. She gripped a small dirk she had swiped earlier briefly and wished that Tyler would be different.

O'Bonn leaned close to Idrial so that his voice was a whisper against her neck.

"M'lady, perhaps you should try to get our weapons back," he gestured.

Idrail hadnt reolized she was holding her breath as they announced the fait of her and her party. Letting it out, the tension between her sholders easing a bit. She heard O'Bonn's word's, and agreed but was in no rush not wanting to offend these people, and knowing that the swamp had given them little chance to rest, it would be wise to accept there hospitality and face Dreamwever well rested if they were able.

She glanced over at O'Bonn and nodded smiling so he knew she understood and looked around for the others. I'll try to get them back soon, but for now i think we could all use some rest before facing Dreamweaver.

Idrial had never had much cause to be diplomatic before, and hoped she was doing alright, ohh there were the occasional inquire's about her brother and other negoseations, but nothing quite like this had been. They were alive tho and that was what counted.

She looked around at her group glad that they had all been released and were getting something to eat. Valathe and Ona sat together not far from them, and Cormic sat on the opposite side of O'Bonn from where she was.

Seeing Cormic's face she knew he was glad to be alive but still needed an outlet for his anger, and she supposed embarassment at having been caught. Many humans and some barbarrians she knew of would rather die in battle than be caputured and she thought perhaps Cormic may have felt the same.

Keeping her voice down she said Take heart Cormic... We live and an even greater battle is ahead of us, we are close, and ether the end or the beginning is near... Looking up at O'Bonn she hoped it wasnt the end and she wanted to move closer to him and kiss him and hear him say that it would be alright, but she knew that it would be a lie until this ended the would not know one way or another.

Idrial wasnt sure if she should rise and speak formaly to Siswa or stay seated, and decided to stay seated, as they were eating. She looked to Siswa and hoped she wasnt insulting him in anyway. Siswa we thank you for your hospitaltiy, and would be glad to share what news we have, and ask only that our wepons be returned to us before we leave your care. I would also apologize if we offend in any way as we do not know your customs.

When the bar patrons drew their weapons, Draken reacted quickly and leapt backward out a window, letting his helm protect his head from the glass. He rolled quickly and came up on his feet. Looking around, he saw that no one was near him and so he reached for an amulet around his neck. Concentrating on the amulet for a moment, Draken began to rise and quickly levitated onto the roof of the tavern then removed his helm.

He pulled out the enchanted dagger and watched it spin in his hand till he had his heading, then quickly took off running along the rooftops following her and what he assumed was her young companion or younger brother. After about twenty minutes he located them down a small back alley that lead to a dead end. He watched them run into the alley then silently leapt to the ground behind them.

"Traditionally girl, it is customary to thank the one that saved you isn't it? Especially if he was ordered specifically to protect you. Though I'm guessing the trouble you were in wasn't all your fault." His voice was deep, but had a light almost musical quality to it, making it sound much different as opposed to when he had spoken in the tavern.

Lucian

OOC: Well somebody has to start this group, so it may as well be me.

IC: Lucian lifted his gaze and cleared his head of his random thoughts when he heard Garik say that there was smoke and humans ahead. 'Crap, more humans that I have to avoid feeding on.' Lucian said in his head as he looked up to the blasted sun that tormented him so.

Lucian was grateful that the sun didn't hurt him, but the brightness hindered his vision and dulled his senses, which was why Garik detected the smoke first. Garik was always up front in the daytime, and Lucian during the night. Milaashi was always in the middle. She was the most frail, and least combat capable, but he had seen her mace cause many a rough looking wound.

As much as Lucian wanted to be forthcoming to his new travelling companions, he hadn't found the "right" time to tell them that he was half vampire. It was not a topic that easily fit ino everyday conversation.

"Well guys."

Lucian said simply to his two companions.

"Do we wanna just walk up and say hi, or skirt around them? I am up for either really. What do you guys think?"

Garik looked at the guards then turned back towards Lucian. As he did he slid his sword slowly out of its sheath and began to test the sharpness of it with his blade. As he did he watched the guards closely, an evil smile appearing on his face. He knew that if he caught them with an element of surprise then he could kill two of them before they could offer any sort of trouble but he also knew that he had to make sure they the other two of the group got out of this alive.

His eyes narrowed as he looked at each individual guard, thinking of how weak or strong they are but one thought came to him. He hated being part of a group. It was one thing to be a hunting party as he could rely on the man next to him but this was something different. As soon as he had met these people he wasn't sure if he could take them into the middle of a fight and they would come out alive.

He had been surprised by the strength of both of them on several occasions but as it was with his people he was always suspicious of people not from his tribe. He looked back at Lucian and could tell that he was feeling the effects of the sunlight.

"I think that we can kill them all before they know what hit them which is what I am hoping happens. Saying hello before we do so would be a nice touch though."

He could not help but smile at the humour of his companion.

silver made it to town with out further incident his first stop was the guild hall once he was done there if they didn't send him some where head go to the furrier then he thought he'd explore the city a bit

Milaashi stretched to try and be as tall as possable. Garik had mentioned smoke, and the other one, Lucien, had his gaze firmly fixed ahead. She thaught to herself that if must be wonderful to be as tall as they both were. As she stretched and craned to get a better viewing angle, she caught sight of four... no, make that five men all sitting by a fire. Another one of the oddities she had noticed since coming ashore. The need of humanoids to burn things...

Lucien asked when their next course of action should be and, if Gairk's response was anthing to go by, it looked like they would have a fight on their hands. She closed her eyes and patted Garik on the leg. "Perhaps I should go to them. Ask is Trennai is near, and what misfortune has befallen their group. After all, we do not know if these five are hostile. Skirt around in the woods and keep a watchful eye on them, if it helps"

Without a moments furthur hesitation, she hopped out of the thinning treeline, and walkedconfdently straighttowards the froup, hand raised in a gesture of freindship

OOC: You guys don't know what I am, as I haven't told you yet. All you know is that I am able to see in the dark, and just don't like the sunlight.

"Perhaps I should go to them. Ask is Trennai is near, and what misfortune has befallen their group. After all, we do not know if these five are hostile. Skirt around in the woods and keep a watchful eye on them, if it helps"

Lucian nodded to show he agreed with Milaashi.

"I agree, we don't know if they are hostile or not, and it's best not to pick fights if we don't have to. I will come with you."

Lucian spoke kindly and confidantly to both of his companions, then turned to Garik as Milaashi started to walk out.

"Garik you have better eyes during the day, you skirt the woods like Milaashi says, and be ready to come if we call."

Lucian then followed Milaashi's lead and walked out of the woods towards the guards, following suit and raising a hand in greeting.

Idrial and Co.

The Chieftain made some more hissing, barking orders in his native language and many of the other Lizardlings backed away, leaving the two groups to sit in the center of the longhouse. Still, many Lizardlings, seemed to push and jostle each other to peek through the doorway or windows at Idrial and her companions.

Siswa we thank you for your hospitaltiy, and would be glad to share what news we have, and ask only that our weapons be returned to us before we leave your care. I would also apologize if we offend in any way as we do not know your customs. Idrial said.

Siswa only grunted his acknowledgement at first, although Leshare nodded at her words. Soon other Lizardlings, mostly females, began to enter bringing wooden platters of food. Each servant knelt between the two groups and bowing low, placed the laden tray on the floor before scooting away and departing.
"Weaponses are for fighting." Siswa finally said as the platters were laid between them. " This isss a time for ssspeaking and eatsssing." He made a broad wave of his hand towards the assembled food.

The food was a collection of ... delacacies ... native to the region. Boiled bird eggs of various types sat among bowls of roots and mushrooms. A great earthenware bowl was filled with a steaming soup, smelling strongly of salt and fish. Whole fish and even snakes, some cooked and some raw, were displayed as the main courses and tiny bowls of earthworms and grubs, obviously still wriggling, rounded out the meal. Another, much smaller female Lizardling passed wooden bowls to Idrial, Ona, O'Bonn, Val and Cormac, her slitted and yellow eyes wide with amazement at the newcommers to her village. A growl from Kriss made her jump, then hand each a long skewer made from reed and a spoon that seemed to be carved from bone. She retreated quickly, scooting to sit by the farthest wall and join some six other females kneeling silently.

"Eatsss," said Lashare, motioning to the food again as the other Lizardlings began selecting their own choices from the banquet. Leshare himself stabbed a bit of snake meat with his own skewer and let his long tongue wrap around the morsel and draw it into his maw.
"Please, tells usss about the Red Mountainsss. We knowss of it by ssstory, but the Peoplesss doos not go through the treesss to sssees it."

once at the guild silver was shown to a waiting room to await the arival of the guild master to collect his bounty

"Traditionally girl, it is customary to thank the one that saved you isn't it? Especially if he was ordered specifically to protect you. Though I'm guessing the trouble you were in wasn't all your fault."

Tiana whirled around, her heart beating fast as the Voices began clamouring once again. Her eyes were wide with fear, her mouth agape as she gasped. "Who are you?!" she whispered before she had time to truly register what he had said.

Then she frowned, "Wait... prot...tect... me?" she repeated hesitantly. "What you are you talking about?" Normally she wouldn't have even bothered talking to him. She would've just run away and put as much distance as she could from him, especially since he was a fully grown man. A man!

"Wait... prot...tect... me? What you are you talking about?"

"What am I talking about? I was ordered to find and protect you nothing more, nothing less. " Draken nodded and slipped his hood back so that his finely defined drow features could be seen by her and her companion.

There was little else Draken could say at the moment to her.

Garik looked down at Lucian and then at the guards. The one thing that he hated more than sneaking up on people was to talk to them as more times than not it got in the way and by the time you went to talk to them you were laying on the ground with a sword in your stomach. He stood there for a few more seconds and watched as the two of them moved towards the group of guards, shook his head and said, "Complete fools. They will be dead before they know it."

He turned and walked away from the edge of the trees, occasionally looking around for any sign of distress from his companions. He much prefered a straight on fight to all this sneaking around but knew that if he had his way then his companions would surely be dead. He hated to move around with companions who didn't know how to do things properly. He wished that he was back with his tribe; at least they knew how to do things properly.
