So I've just returned from a multi day hike in the Scottish Highlands. The hike itself was fun, and was a sort of last minute thing when I got some unexpected days off work. As a result accommodation was last minute too. For one night of my journey I was only able to find a space in a 4 bed mixed sex dormitory at a backpackers hostel, without spending more than my budget. Not my usual preference, but beggers can't be choosers
Anyway, that days hike was pretty uneventful, nice weather, no rain, great views. Met and spoke to a few other hikers, mostly going in the opposite direction and arrived at my destination for the night at around 5pm after making very good time.
Got checked in, went up to the room. Gave a polite knock before using my key, but there was noone there. 4 singled beds in the room. One near the window had a bag and some walking boots under it, the others were clearly empty at the moment. I chose the bed across from the taken one, as the other two were next to the shared bathroom, and I didn't want to be disturbed in the night by people passing me or the door being closed etc.
I had a quick shower and changed from my hiking gear. When I came out of the bathroom there was a lady who looked to be in her 40s, wavy brown hair, sitting on the first taken bed. I smiled and said hello, and she responded in kind. She had an accent I couldn't place. She was attractive and I definitely looked at her a little bit longer than normal, which she noticed. We didn't speak any more and after sorting my things out I headed out to have an explore locally. Making note of the time as I had my dinner booked for 8pm at the hostel.
The rain came in, so I decided to head back to the room until it was time for dinner. Again a polite knock and I went inside. Noone in the room but someone in the bathroom. I lay on my bed and just scrolled on my phone. After about 5 or 10 minutes the bathroom door opened, and the lady came out. She was towelling off her hair after a shower, and was wearing a pair of running shorts, and an athletic t shirt. She smiled and said "hello again" and I laughed and said "hi". She sat drying her hair and as she was side on I felt very sub conscious as she was sat facing me on the side of her bed.
