Election Night November 2025: Nightmare for MAGA 🙂

Both Democrats and the GOP - the Uniparty - are the problem. Progress is being made to turn the GOP into a pop[ulist workers party by activists...

The Republican Party appeals emotionally to lower income whites but Republican tax cuts for the rich do not help them economically.

With Trump, it's "hubris cometh before the fall" - he's been alienating his base in various ways for a while now and just gettng more egregarious as he goes on. He learnt nothing from his first term.

Funny headline. Our president is a doofus.

Trump urges Tennessee voters to back GOP candidate over Democrat who ‘openly disdains Country music’

“Matt is fighting against a woman who hates Christianity, will take away your guns, wants Open Borders, Transgender for everybody, men in women’s sports, and openly disdains Country music,” Trump added without adding evidence. “She said all of these things precisely, and without question — IT’S ON TAPE!”

iT’s oN TaPe 😆

In a statement, Behn campaign manager Kate Briefs responded to Trump’s Truth Social post, saying the president is lying “because he is panicking about his tanking approval numbers as Tennessee voters hold him accountable for his failed economic policies that are raising their costs, while lowering taxes for their billionaire donors.”

“Aftyn Behn’s affordability message — to lower grocery costs, housing costs, and health care costs — is resonating with voters of all political stripes, which is why this race is now tied,” Briefs added.

Doesn't look like she's likely to make it, but that is an R+10 district (for perspective's sake, the GOP's least-favorite state, California, is D+12 - imagine the chortling from the right if the Dems only carried CA by three or four points!)

The Tennessee special election demonstrated the power of gerrymandering. The Republicans split blue Nashville into multiple districts to negate their votes.

Behn, who ran as an unapologetic progressive, ran up a huge margin in Davidson County, which is the most Democratic county in the district and home to Nashville. But Van Epps carried the rest of the district, including many deep-red counties throughout central Tennessee, as he tied himself tightly to Trump.

Anyway, the Republican won by half the margin they usually do in that district.
