That would take us in exactly the wrong direction. The consumers need to be taxed, to discourage driving.

Same reason gasoline was rationed during WWII. There was no shortage of gasoline, but there was a shortage of rubber, so . . .

They're called helicopters. But they consume too much fuel and you need special training to fly one.

That won't change until they invent a form of flight that does not depend on air pressure differentials, that would work on the moon.
