Ariadne stood and screamed at the pain in her leg and hip. Holding onto the wall, she fell and began to pathetically crawl towards Laryssana and Lollth. The spider queen's head smiled and she tauntingly kept just out of reach.

"Please..."Aria moaned, as Undar and her brother began to battle behind her. "Thildemar, don't bother with him!"she yelled in desperation,"Rescue my daughter!"

Thildemar/Undar:

Undar's heart wasn't in the fight Thildemar had suddenly pressed upon him and he stumbled back, desperatly fending off blow afer blow. His brow was tightened with agrivation. Then Aria's voice cut sharply between the two of them. Thildemar stalled his attack and looked over to his sister. He cursed and shot Undar a wicked glance, He would have had the pigs blood on his blade if he had pressed the attack a minute longer. Undar was on his back with his sword up to fend another blow but Thildemar left him there and went to Aria's side, supporting her. "We must get you to safty, how well can you walk?" Undar stood. "NO! She is my wife! I will take care of her!" He demanded, his eyes burning with obsession. "One more word from you, dog, and I will have you on the end of my blade!" Thildemar growled at Undar. "Just try..." Undar hissed as he squinted his eyes. Thildemar lifted his blade toward Undar once more even whilst supporting his sister to her feet.

Ariadne pushed herself away from her brother and screamed in pain as she fell. Both elves rushed to help her and she pushed them away, pointing at the ceiling above.

Both males looked up and gasped as they finally noticed Lollth nursing the child at her breast. Already, the change was beginning through Lollth's magicked milk. Laryssana clung to Lollth's breast as an older child would and her eyes (when they opened) were glassy and hard.

"Help her!"Ariandne snapped,"Help her instead of fighting one another. Please, if either of you love me!"

Atheria:

A cloud of rank ash swelled around Atheria as she stepped through the charred remains of the drider, she felt her demon master's rage and had to act quickly. She went rushing back into the chamber where Rose had been raped, her eyes caught the blood soaked stone alter that Rose had been placed on and knew instantly what had happened there. "NO!!!!" She screamed as the air crackled and ripped asunder, twelve demons stood, glowering at her, nipping and clawing at the air in anticipation. They were being held in check only by her master's will she knew and would have set uppon her if it wern't for him. Her master stepped through the portal last and pointed an accusing finger at her. "You have failed me! You will suffer the aeons to come like no mortal has ever suffered before!" The demon bellowed. Atheria fell to her knees suddenly, ALL her power left her in a flash. She pleaded weakly as she lowered her head to her knees. The demon paid it no mind and motioned for his minions to collect her and bring her to him in the under realms of the nine hells. With that he returned through the portal, he could only sustain such a portal for mere minutes.

Thildemar/Undar:

The two, Aria's brother and her husband stood, forgetting their hatered for each other. Thildemar bristled, aiming his blade at the queen spider. Lolth tilted her head with a scoffing laugh. Undar stepped forward, holding a hand to Thildemar. "Queen mother! The child is mine, mine and my wife's! I demand as prince*" Undar's tone was strong and comanding as a good ruler's should be but Lolth cut him off. "Demand?!" The Queen nearly shreiked incredulously. "You demand NOTHING from me you bewitched, love sick FOOL!" Undar stood strong against Lolths words, only the slightest twitch of his lip betrayed his steely demeanor. "I see no one to protect you from my blade." Undar said flatly as he aimed his sword toward her just as Thildemar had. "Incredible!" Lolth gasped. "I would not have ever thought that you would be such a fool Undar... I... Am... VERY... Dissapointed!" Lolth growled as she scuttled back along the cealing. Undar fell for her trap and rushed forward, thinking that she intended escape. Thildemar caught the wicked flash of teeth lolth showed as Undar flung himself forward for an attack. "NO!" Was all Thildemar had time to shout. Undar fell upon Lolth's spiked foreleg, empailing himself through the rib. The taloned leg burst through his body and he howled in pain as Thildemar swore oath after oath. "Hahahah!!! Fools! You lead yourselves to your own demise!" Lolth chortled cruely.

Giamond:

Giamond sat by his daughter Rose. She was laid in a down bed. He had gone to the elders first thing once he had returned to Southwood. They had prepaired this room for Rose and had sent for the crone. In she came, her face streaked with worry as she moved to the foot of Rose's bed. "Would you like me to leave while she tends to you Rose?" Giamond asked as he smoothed her hair from her face.

Rose

Rose grabbed Giamond's hand. She felt the shadows move suddenly to soothe her as she felt her heart clamp in Panic's painful grasp.

"No...Please stay?"

Giamond/Crone:

Giamond looked up to the crone and she smiled back at him then turned to Rose. "I must clean you now." She said as she eased Rose's legs apart. Giamond looked away from the crone, at his daughter's face, she could see the sorrow in his eyes and felt it magnify her own. Frowning, the crone said. "You have been torn rather badly little one..." She picked up a wetted spunge from a steaming bowl of water. The water was almost unpleasantly hot against Rose's most tender of flesh. She winced as it touched the wound that the crone spoke of. Giamond held her hand and tried to keep her calm as the crone kept working the sponge against her.

Rose

Rose felt tears leaking down her cheeks as she held to Giamond's hand. The shadows moved around the crone, worried, but not interfearing.

"The...the spider said I...was with child..." Rose said softly.

"Can you...Is it true?"

Crone/Giamond:

"Well, you certainly have enough seed in you to become a mother, if it is left unchecked... But there are things I can do to minimize that possiblity deary." The crone looked up. "But with the wound such as it is, I fear it would cause you more pain..." She looked at Rose expectantly. Giamond's soft caring eyes fell upon her as well.

Rose

Rose lay back closing her eyes a moment.

"No...I...if I am then I am...I may be a coward...but I can't take any more pain right now..." she felt a tear fall down her face.

"Besides..." she smiled weakly at her father, holding his hand tightly.

"Last I heard you guys wanted more kids around here..."

Crone/Giamond:

Without a word the crone finished cleaning Rose and set to mending the wounds as best she could. There was pain but not near as much as if she had cleaned Rose more deeply. Giamond felt a tear running down his cheek and choked out. "Oh Rose... My little daughter... I am so sorry..."

Rose

Rose forced a soft smile at Giamond.

"If you don't stop apoligizing I'll get mad..." she flinched softly.

"What has happened was not your fault. And I'd do it all again if it meant finding you..."

Crone/Giamond:

The crone finished and stood, holding her back with a small moan as she looked down at Rose. "Stay here with us in Southwood little one and you will be cared for by all..." Giamond pulled Rose's hand to his cheek and fought back his tears. He had to be strong, for her.

Rose

Rose nodded slowly, smiling at Giamond.

"I think I'll stay...I mean what do I have to go back to?" The shadows curled around her gently.

"Will the elders still put you on trial, father?" She sounded worried suddenly. The last thing she needed right now was to loose him...

Giamond:

"It is our law..." Giamond said with sorrow in his voice. He did not want to lose her any more than she wanted to lose him. The Crone looked up at Giamond and clucked her tongue. "You will not be sent away Giamond Gildmar. Of that you can be sure. The elders may be strict with their old laws but they are not blind..." Giamond looked up at her. "What do you mean?"

"Come now Giamond, you should know that you couldn't have hidden a daughter from them for all these years... They knew, they knew long ago. Set your heart at ease, they will not send you away. There is no point to such a course of action, you are needed by Rose's side more than ever now." The crone gave Rose a wink as she spoke.

Rose

Rose smiled weakly. She pulled Giamond down and hugged him tightly.

"Well...It looks like you're stuck with me...Us..." she reach down to place a hand on her stomach.

Giamond:

Giamond pulled away from Rose, his eyes filled with fatherly love for her and his lips were turned up with a gentle smile. "Rest now daughter... I must go now to see if Thildemar and Ariadne have returned safely... I will return as soon as I can." And with that Giamond smoothed Rose's hair back one last time before leaving her to rest.

The crone was setting the bowl with the now red tinted water aside, with her back to Rose. She whistled softly as she emptied the bowl. Then turned back to Rose. She came to her side and pulled a heavy blanket over her, up to her shoulders. A motherly smile formed on her lips. "You have been through much little one... Rest is the best thing for you now."

Ariadne's senses reeled as she watched Undar killed by the spider queen. She screamed and grasped her brother's leg. "Thildemar, please,"Ariadne sobbed. "Laryssana..."

Thildemar glared at the queen, but realized that he couldn't alone conquer her. Lifting his sister against her will, he began to carry her away, as she beat him and wailed for her child.

Rose

Rose smiled weakly at the crone and watched her leave. She sighed and closed her eyes. Then re-opened them as she sensed a presence.

"Hello, little one..." Aizalin said softly sitting at her side in his mage guise.

"You...you're the mage who..."

"Yes...Shhhh...Calm yourself child. I'm afraid I'm not truly the mage..." Rose's eyes widened as his shape melted and his silver wings spread.

"I bring you a warning and a gift..." Aizalin said softly.

"Your child could turn to the darkness, just as you could have with your mother's blood. To ward this off I am binding your shadows to your child also...While you and the child are one, the shadows remain as one. When your child is birthed they will part...." His hand gently touched hers atop her stomach. She felt the power pulse through and the exhaustion overwhelm her. Her eyes closed and the angel smiled softly as he faded.

"Good luck Rose of Southwood, you and yours will need it..."

Lolth:

As Thildemar retreated Lolth laughed, pushing Undar's limp form from the end of her fore leg. There was a wet thud as his body struck the stony ground. Some blood ran from the corner of his mouth as his head lulled to the side. "Ah, Undar... You fool..." Lolth hissed as she picked his body up easily. Carrying him and Laryssana, Lolth retreated into darkness.

Thildemar:

"To stay would mean DEATH for us both sister! We must return with a force to match her strength!" He hated himself for this but there was no choice left to them.
He saw the portal then and with a leap he and Aria were returning to Southwood.

Ariadne cried herself out until she was exhausted enough to drop off into a fitful rest. When she awoke, she was in the Southwoods and in the crone's hut.

She sat up instantly and moved to leave the bed. Without much effort, she toppled to the floor from exhaustion, shock and pain.

Someone moved to help her...

Giamond:

"Easy there Aria..." Giamond said with a trace of worry in his voice as he took hold of Aria. He returned her to her bed. Seeing in her eyes the pain that she felt and the question that she could not put voice to, he lowered his eyes. "Your brother is petitioning the elders to send a force of men to the underdark. He intends retribution for what Undar did... He swears that he will rescue your child..." Giamond sat a gentle hand to Aira's brow. He knew nothing he could do would set her at ease but he felt that he should try at the very least.

Thildemar:

The elders had sent him off to care for one of the two injured girls, his sister or Rose. He knew his sister would not care to see him so soon... So he found his way to Rose's hut. "Rest assured they say..." He grumbled. "Rest assured that the Drow will pay for what they have done..." Thildemar felt the same old anger welling up within his heart. The elders had never looked upon him as a grown up, and, it would seem never would... He walked into Rose's hut and there she was, laying asleep. He caught himself in a sudden smile. She had been the only one he ever knew that had seen him as an elder... He sat in a wicker chair and waited, watching her sleep.

"Oh, Giamond,"Aria cried, covering her pain contorted face,"My poor baby! And the things I did! I remember everything I did and said when the spider had control of me. I remember mating with Undar...and wanting it, lusting for it! All I care about is my baby,"she wailed, uncovering her tear-streaked face and looking up at him. "Why couldn't it have been you?"she asked, her hands curling into fists on his chest. "If it was you, we all could have been happy!"

Rose

Rose's peacful dreams were turning bad. She tossed and turned as she was once again helpless and bound before the Drow. She woke up with a half scream, jerking up.

She blinked a couple of times, the shadows closed around her like cool arms for a moment until her heart settled. She finally became aware of the worried presence standing at her side.

"Thildemar?" she murmured. She wiped the stray tears from her eyes, forcing a smile.

"S...sorry, Dream...Is your sister ok?" She tried to sound calm but she felt like her insides were being crushed. Still...she had had a bit of crush on Thildemar from their first meeting. But what would he want with a kid like her?

Giamond:

Giamond pulled Aria's head to his chest and smoothed her hair. Her words, her pain deeply affected him. "Hush now Aria, what has happened was beyond our control... Just know that the drow will pay for what they have done. The elders have sent a troop to seek out Lolth... We will not rest until your child is returned to you." Giamond felt a tear come to his eye as Aria looked up at him. ~"Why couldn't it have been you?"she asked, her hands curling into fists on his chest. "If it was you, we all could have been happy!"~ A bitter sweet smile came to his lips as he spoke. "If you would allow me... I would be the one to make you happy. I have felt love for you for a very long time Aria... I would have let you known but it would have done neather of us good at the time..." He said as he ran gentle fingers along Aria's cheek to brush away a tear.

Thildemar:

"She will live. But I fear that she will never forgive me for running away... Her child is still in the hands of the drow..." Thildemar said as he sat in a crouch next to Rose's bed side. "But that will be dealt with... What matters now is how you are Rose Thorn." He smiled as he spoke her full name. It had not struck him until the elders had sent him to tend to her. He had known this girl for more than a decade. All the memories came back to him, he had wanted to close them away for the sake of his friend Giamond and had for a good few years. Rarely did Thildemar use the glamour of his elven blood, not since he posed as Rose's teacher in fact but with a smile he decided he would once more. With a wave of his hand his features shimmered and formed into the face of Thorn.
