Rousing slowly from his sleep Giamond's eye's refused to focus. "Hmph... What..." He mumbled at first but his daughters voice caught in his mind and he sat up quickly. "Is something wrong Rose?"
Taken completely off guard by this information Giamond could only look into Rose's eyes. Finding his voice suddenly he asked her. "Can you have the shadows speak? I cannot believe Atheria would have anything to do with a sacrifice... It is just not like her... She is a protector of the realm..."
Rose found it very easy to reach into Giamonds mind. She felt the muzzy vail of fatigue there, the concern he had for her. She wanted to stop there but his mind was so open to her now that she could see his feelings tied between Atheria and Ariadne. She could tell he had love for them both, though his love for Atheria was tinged with bitterness and his love for Ariadne seemed fruitless.
She forced herself to pull back some from his mind, she was invading his innermost private thoughts... She could see in his eyes that he could feel her sifting through his mind. It was not anger as she might have though him to feel, but understanding.
Speaking outloud, not knowing how to comunicate with them otherwise Giamond said. "Shadows, can you tell me what the purpose of this sacrifice would be? Why does Atheria seek to murder Rose?
"They've been the only sure thing in my life. They protected me when I needed it, fought for me and a lot of the time made sure I had food. I believe them."
"Then we must act on this, I should think." He hopped off the bed at that. "If she is as the shadows say she is than she must be stopped... We should seek the elders help in this matter."
