Emma was 21 and mature beyond her years. She was driven to accomplish great things and possessed a voracious appetite for all life has to offer, including sex.

When Emma was 8 her parents divorced and her father began dating a woman 20 years younger than himself. Her father and stepmother are now happily married 13 years later. This may explain Emma's attraction to older men. It isn't that Emma is not attracted to men closer to her own age but she has always found a deeper emotional connection to older men. The emotional connection then in turns feeds the physical connection. Emma is well aware of her own desires, she has a long history with older men.
