Helplessness

I feel so weak,
It's your protection that I seek,
To save me from these tears,
The product of my fears.

A helplessness inside,
The reason that I cried,
Is filling up my heart,
Though I know it's not thought out or smart.

I just don't know what to do,
See, I havn't got a clue,
I just want to be strong,
I know this helplessness is wrong.

Life Is A Prison
by Puff

Life is a prison,
Oh God let me out.
No one to listen,
To hear when you shout.

Climb the walls of insanity,
Ride the waves of despair.
If you fall it don't matter,
There's no one to care.

Used to wish for a window,
To see birds, trees and sky,
But you're better without one -
Stops you aiming too high.

Watching freedom is painful,
For those locked away.
Seeing joy, love and happiness,
Another price that you pay.

Strong is good, weak is bad.
Be it false, be it true.
Your mind makes the choice,
And enforces it too.

Cell walls built by society,
With rules to adhere.
If you breach the acceptable,
You had better beware.

Hide the pain, carry on,
Routine is the key.
Don't let on that you're not,
What you're pretending to be.

Lock it all up inside you,
How badly that bodes.
Look out for that one day,
When it all just explodes.

Leaving naught but a shell,
Base functionality too.
But killing all else,
That was uniquely you.

So how do you grow,
With a timebomb inside?
Or how to defuse it,
Without destroying its ride?

You can't.

DAYS WITHOUT YOU

I miss you so much day and night
I can't realise why you're gone
I just think I treat you right
but now I'm again alone

The days without you are so long
these days - without your kiss and smile
and I don't know what I've done wrong
I've been thinking of this for a while

A few questions that I need to know -
why does my heart feel so bad ?
why you could ever hurt me so ?
why can't I get you out of my head ?....

Now I'm standing here alone
with this weight upon my heart
wondering why you're gone
remembering our feelings from the start

In my mind I have all my memories in a range -
each moment spent with you
is unforgettable
but I can't realise what made you change
for me this is just un-get-able

I know I won't pull through without you by my side
so baby come to me - don't run and hide
The only thing I want is to be with you
please honey - make my wish come true

Don't you know that you make my days count?
And I'm always happy when you're around
it doesn't matter what we do
as long as I'm here with YOU

LONELINESS

People don't understand me,
they understand so little
that they don't even understand the fact
that they don't understand me.

I cannot communicate
my feelings to anybody.
I cannot even communicate the fact
that I cannot communicate
my feelings to anybody.

My loneliness grows even more,
because everybody thinks
that I have lots of company.
They don't know of my loneliness.

My isolation is so big
that nobody has ever seen me.
What they think is me
is only their projection.
They don't even know that I exist
because I dare not to be the way
I am supposed to be.

What is even worse
they are convinced
they see me and they know me.
Therefore they are incapable of seeing
that nobody sees me.

People lie so much
they even deny they're lying.
They refined falsehood to the point
that they even deceive themselves:
They believe in their own lies.

Nobody accepts my freedom.
I don't even
have the freedom
to say
that I don't have freedom.

This gives me profound sadness.
But they don't allow me to be sad.
They say
it's a disease
called depression.

Eventually
this ongoing condemnation
makes me so mad
that I forget my sadness.
But profound anger
is called disease, too.

Finally I give up.
Whatever I feel is repudiated.
It's no use.
I don't do anything any more.
I give up.
This is another disease.
withdrawal and depression.

I give it one last try.
Let's forget all problems.
Let us live and enjoy life.
My god
they already labeled this, too.
They call it a manic phase.

Who knows?
Maybe the real disease
is blaming and condemning the other
constantly
and deciding which feeling
he ought to feel.

Love

Exquisite pain
eating, devouring, caressing my soul
endless sight of perfection

Unblemished, my vision of hope
seen through a beating heart

Arteries, capillaries
bearing my rivers of emotion

Flowing, onward,outward, inward

My love
purity, divinity
life to dream to death

LOVE IN MY BEACON

Out of the darkness my beacon shines for you
I can hear your heartbeat; for it is strong
The storm is raging and there is fear for your crew
Imagination is running wild, the deep sea you do not belong to

My heart is pounding ever harder still
As I extend my love in a beam
Death in the tidal waters is not God's will
Yes, you see my beacon, it is not a dream

Come to the harbor my precious friend
For you am I glad to see
Feel the comfort and love extend on your end
As you embrace my beacon meant for your safety

THE SEASHORE

Take me away to the seashore
Where I can just sit and dream
And feel the strength of the ocean
As the soft mist washes me clean.
Sounds of the waves hypnotize me
The rythmn soothes all my cares
There is no place on earth more refreshing
Than here, breathing in the salt air.

Where the light house plays host to the seagulls
And offers its welcoming beam
Inviting those weary from life's struggles
To stop..and take time to dream.

I love this poem...

Am I Alone?
Megan Hance

I get a funny feeling,
it comes from deep inside.
I get all mad and angry,
wanting to go and hide.

My doctor calls it depression,
my dad says it's just me.
But the thoughts and feelings,
no one will ever be able to see.

Some say I'm psycho,
some say I'm just weird.
It's like I'm a different person,
and the old me just disappeared.

I get really edgy,
I want to commit suicide real bad.
Then I get a headache,
followed by feeling sad.

I wish I could get help,
I wish it would go away.
Maybe if I keep praying real hard,
it will some day.

What do you do?

What do you do when you don't want to live,
But you're not yet ready to die?
What do you do when the life that you lead
Has turned out to be just a lie?
What do you do when you're so much alone
That it seems like there's no-one at all?
What do you do when you're right on the edge,
With no-one to catch you when you fall?
What do you do when you can't even pray,
Because there seems to be no point to prayer?
What can you do? Who can you call?
When it seems even God doesn't care…

Those are beautiful Cookie...but bitter sweet....just keep a smile my friend....:rose:

The Power Of Love

The power of a wind can chill.
The power of a fire can burn.
The power of a gun can kill.
The power of a mind can learn.

The power of anger can deep inside
Until it tears you apart...
But only the power of your love
Can melt my cold cold heart.

YOU TURN TO YOUR FRIENDS

Sometimes in our lives we all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrow

Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

Please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you don't let show

Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

If there is a load you have to bear
That you can't carry
I'm right up the road
I'll share your load
If you just call me

So just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'd understand
We all need somebody to lean on

Lean on me when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
Till I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

Lean on me…

A Lonely Sunrise

By Paul McCann

When I wake up each day I wake up alone .
I wonder when you are going to come back home .
Are you missing me like I'm missing you ?
Does the flame burn the same when you're lonely and blue ?
It's a lonely sunrise without you there .
Tears fall like raindrops and there's no one there to share.
The sunrise in my eyes glistens brightly ,
it'sd a lonely sunrise each morning that blinds me .
I can't hide how I feel with a disguise .
My love I can't take another lonely sunrise

O Captain My Captain
Walt Whitman

O Captain my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weathered every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up--for you the flag is flung for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribboned wreaths for you the shores a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here Captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head!
It is some dream that on the deck,
You've fallen cold and dead.

My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still;
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will;
The ship is anchored safe and sound, its voyage closed and done;
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
But I, with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

The Cremation of Sam McGee
Robert W. Service

There are strange things done in the midnight sun
By the men who moil for gold;
The Arctic trails have their secret tales
That would make your blood run cold;
The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge
I cremated Sam McGee.

Now Sam McGee was from Tennessee, where the cotton blooms and blows.
Why he left his home in the South to roam 'round the Pole, God only knows.
He was always cold, but the land of gold seemed to hold him like a spell;
Though he'd often say in his homely way that he'd "sooner live in hell".

On a Christmas Day we were mushing our way over the Dawson trail.
Talk of your cold! through the parka's fold it stabbed like a driven nail.
If our eyes we'd close, then the lashes froze till sometimes we couldn't see;
It wasn't much fun, but the only one to whimper was Sam McGee.

And that very night, as we lay packed tight in our robes beneath the snow,
And the dogs were fed, and the stars o'erhead were dancing heel and toe,
He turned to me, and "Cap," says he, "I'll cash in this trip, I guess;
And if I do, I'm asking that you won't refuse my last request."

Well, he seemed so low that I couldn't say no;
then he says with a sort of moan:
"It's the cursed cold, and it's got right hold
till I'm chilled clean through to the bone.
Yet 'tain't being dead -- it's my awful dread of the icy grave that pains;
So I want you to swear that, foul or fair, you'll cremate my last remains."

A pal's last need is a thing to heed, so I swore I would not fail;
And we started on at the streak of dawn; but God! he looked ghastly pale.
He crouched on the sleigh, and he raved all day of his home in Tennessee;
And before nightfall a corpse was all that was left of Sam McGee.

There wasn't a breath in that land of death, and I hurried, horror-driven,
With a corpse half hid that I couldn't get rid, because of a promise given;
It was lashed to the sleigh, and it seemed to say:
"You may tax your brawn and brains,
But you promised true, and it's up to you to cremate those last remains."

Now a promise made is a debt unpaid, and the trail has its own stern code.
In the days to come, though my lips were dumb,
in my heart how I cursed that load.
In the long, long night, by the lone firelight,
while the huskies, round in a ring,
Howled out their woes to the homeless snows --
O God! how I loathed the thing.

And every day that quiet clay seemed to heavy and heavier grow;
And on I went, though the dogs were spent and the grub was getting low;
The trail was bad, and I felt half mad, but I swore I would not give in;
And I'd often sing to the hateful thing, and it hearkened with a grin.

Till I came to the marge of Lake Lebarge, and a derelict there lay;
It was jammed in the ice, but I saw in a trice it was called the "Alice May".
And I looked at it, and I thought a bit, and I looked at my frozen chum;
Then "Here," said I, with a sudden cry, "is my cre-ma-tor-eum."

Some planks I tore from the cabin floor, and I lit the boiler fire;
Some coal I found that was lying around, and I heaped the fuel higher;
The flames just soared, and the furnace roared --
such a blaze you seldom see;
And I burrowed a hole in the glowing coal, and I stuffed in Sam McGee.

Then I made a hike, for I didn't like to hear him sizzle so;
And the heavens scowled, and the huskies howled, and the wind began to blow.
It was icy cold, but the hot sweat rolled
down my cheeks, and I don't know why;
And the greasy smoke in an inky cloak went streaking down the sky.

I do not know how long in the snow I wrestled with grisly fear;
But the stars came out and they danced about ere again I ventured near;
I was sick with dread, but I bravely said: "I'll just take a peep inside.
I guess he's cooked, and it's time I looked"; . . .
then the door I opened wide.

And there sat Sam, looking cool and calm, in the heart of the furnace roar;
And he wore a smile you could see a mile,
and he said: "Please close that door.
It's fine in here, but I greatly fear you'll let in the cold and storm --
Since I left Plumtree, down in Tennessee,
it's the first time I've been warm."

There are strange things done in the midnight sun
By the men who moil for gold;
The Arctic trails have their secret tales
That would make your blood run cold;
The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge
I cremated Sam McGee.

In a Disused Grave Yard
Robert Frost

The living come with grassy tread
To read the gravestones on the hill;
The graveyard draws the living still,
But never anymore the dead.
The verses in it say and say:
"The ones who living come today
To read the stones and go away
Tomorrow dead will come to stay."
So sure of death the marbles rhyme,
Yet can't help marking all the time
How no one dead will seem to come.
What is it men are shrinking from?
It would be easy to be clever
And tell the stones: Men hate to die
And have stopped dying now forever.
I think they would believe the lie.

When Love’s Away
by bear

As I lie awake at night with thoughts of you,
I crave to hold you in my arms till morning’s light.
The nights seem to drag without you near,
While the days are very slow and dreary,
When you're gone so long my love,
My soul filled with pain.
My heart saturated with tears
People thin I'm crazy.
They just don’t understand.
That while we are miles apart,
My heart is your’s to keep.
My love for you runs very deep,
And grows stronger each and every day.
Is this just my fear?
when my love’s not here?

A Friend

A friend is like a shade tree
Beside a summer way.
A friend is like the sunshine
That makes a perfect day.

A friend is like a flower
That's worn close to the heart.
A friend is like a treasure
With which one will not part.

Unending Moments

I yearn for you to return to me, my Love
Obsession still burning in my eyes
I long wistfully for the songs of your voice and
Covet the softness of your touch

I see my reflection dancing in the window glass as
I wait unending moments for you to arrive

In the darkness of my secret garden
The purity of my passions is tended to with quiet care

But you no longer visit me here in my garden
So my desires have grown quiet and still

Winter has seized my gazebo and
The thistles and thorns have choked the trees
My flowers have surrendered to the cold and
I no longer hear the nightingales sing

I only hear the songs of regrets and loneliness
Ringing endlessly in my heart

Ravens have ravaged my soul

I am a prisoner of my memories and
Your face is a furious storm in my mind
But I will continue to wait for you here in my garden
Until my breath has finally grown cold

Love is the obsession that casts my likeness in ruins

Love is the painful instant locked deep in my heart

Love is the uncontrollable passion that burns unending in my soul

Death Of An Angel
Joseph Smith

I once knew a lady named
Misery
she lived in a damaged world
she calls to me in transparent dreams

a lonely star
outside
the closed universe

she was my twisted soul

long ago
she experienced
the darkest of
pain

beauty was something
she could not
believe

I once knew an angel named
Evil
she traveled like a
ghost into the shadows

her heart was dying for some form of
life

all seems balanced
now
the angel burns to
die
