Started another Illustrated Story

Since I last did my Anna333 story, my skills at drawing with Flash vectors have improved a fair amount, and I believe I have a good hook for another illustrated story. The image included here is the first completed, a simple profile of the main female character. A couple other images are still being worked on in pencil, and I hope to have at least a good half dozen for the entire story.

Called 'Bride of Sacrifice', it is a historical fantasy in which a shrine chantress is forced into being a sexual offering to a god-like beast.

I thought it would be interesting to try something in the style of traditional Hentai (but without the irrationally large breasts).

I started off doing the image in color, but I wasn't happy with how it turned out -converting it black to traditional black and white made it much better in my eyes. The image here is just a small one, to be placed at the beginning of the story. I just like the image of a short haired girl with the thick Horus-style eye markings, and that gave birth to the whole story idea. I'm really going to try and make this a good one, especially with regards to the quality of the artwork. I find it hard to look back on my Anna 333 story, because I feel it really fell short in that regard (though it's also true I've improved a fair bit in my use of Flash as a drawing tool since then).

I received a request for a male version of the motorcycle...
I had two concepts right off.
I'll develop all of these later.

I would like to order one, please!

Thunder between my thighs, indeed... :catroar:

In that case, I am definitely willing to serve as a proof of concept for the bike

I remember some years ago, in So. California I believe, there was an artist who was bodycasting women and then making fiberglass resin molds from the casts and turning them into the bodies for motorcycles. He'd airbrush all the fleshtones as well as all the "details" of the womens' bodies. For the most part the bikes were not functional because of the poses of the bodies involved, but I believe a few were functional as bikes that could be taken on the roads. Otherwise, they were art.

Dr, in the immortal words of Steppenwolf…
"…I like smoke and lightning
Heavy metal thunder
Racin' with the wind
And the feelin' that I'm under…" ;)

The artwork, people, is excellent as always!

LOL

Wouldn't that depend on your definition of functionality?

I mean, considering your male version of the motorcycle.

  :D

Bride Of Sacrifice - image 2

The second image complete for my upcoming Illustrated Story. Here, the main character waits with anxiety for the god-beast to come for her.

When I say 'complete', it's actually quite possible that I'll be coming back to fix up this image later. At the moment, she doesn't have any shading on her body. On one level, it kind of works, since her pale skin make for a stark contrast to the darkness of her surroundings and circumstances. At the same time, a bit of shading in the right places gave her a bit more depth and realism. So, we'll see.

Halo,
yes..i believe i saw something like that in the 70's?
If I had the resources (including time) I would build some.
One of my brothers is a mechanic. I am not unskilled myself, but would hesitate engineering a motorcycle to ride myself. I might MODIFY one.

For now I will just draw them....and not be TOO concerned with functionality.

That's the beauty of our kind of art; it's as functional on paper as we want it to be.

RIDABILTY! whoo hoo!

For that one there is custom riding leathers too! basically chaps on the bottom. the "saddle" post...keeps the rider from slipping off the back during rapid acceleration. I DO think these things trough.

What tools are you using?

Although I rough out the image on pencil and scan it into the computer, the primary drawing tool for these images is Flash MX2004. Since Flash uses vectors, you can get really straight lines and curves, and have a fair amount of freedom to muck around. Because it uses vectors and fills, Flash isn't a great tool for color, at least not in a way that I've been able to master.

The final JPGs are done after making the images slightly smaller in ImageReady. This tends to get rid the pixelization and makes the flaws a little less obvious.

I may have to go some kind of a proper background for that second image, especially after finishing the rough for the third. But the one boat I may have really missed out on was doing the art in the actual style of ancient Egypt. I was thinking more along the terms of Hetai, but I kind of had the thought after the fact. I think I may end up doing a sort of mini-mural at the end of the story in that style, which could make for a nice epigraph.

Think about this. Adobe Illustrator cost lest than Photoshop, but you have both, you have some really great tools to work with. I like Flash MX. This is something that I began doing. Illustrator uses vector graphics as well.

Draw the image and scan it into Photoshop. Resize it to a manageable size for your computer. Save the image for web as a gif. Open the image in Illustrator, create a new layer and use the pen tool to trace the drawing. Save the image as an .eps file. You can then open the image any size you want in photoshop. Way cool to be able to do that and not have to worry about pixelation.

This thread has inspired me

I've never attempted to draw people, just animals but after seeing the art work here I was inspired to give it a try.......so don't remind me to give up my day job....I'm just getting started :)
