Maybe somebody will have to explain to me how they have arrived at this 'Everybody hates Trump' position.

I'm just not seeing it - at least not on the 'real' news.

As is almost always the case with newly elected presidents, Trump was exaggerating his victory and his mandate. By historic standards, it was a modest win (at best). He won the popular vote, and swept swing states, but did so narrowly. Still, he was right to crow—and Democrats were right to panic.

Democrats were not only out of power; their entire electoral playbook was in tatters. If Trump could hold onto his new voters while maintaining his sizable, doggedly loyal MAGA base, the party was screwed.

Cuomo isn’t even in the same zip code when it comes to being as sleazy, ignorant, racist, fascistic, bigoted, or corrupt as DonOld.

Cuomo was just desperate in the face of a likely loss and he wasn’t going to vocally spurn support from any quarter (though he should have, considering he was likely going to lose anyway).

And I suspect some of Cuomo’s concerns about Mamdani and the future of New York City are genuine, so he was willing to sacrifice some dignity in his bid to win (and he came closer to winning than I expected).

Side note:

There is a better than 50/50 chance that Mamdani’s mayoral stint ends badly for New York City - which will reflect poorly on the Democratic Party & progressivism.

The stakes are quite high at the moment. Failure is NOT an option, and yet Mamdani is poised (set up?) to fail.

I hope I’m wrong.

I've hated that Orange mince since I learned of that cheap orange buffoon. And he scared the 'ell out of me in his appearance in Home Alone 2. Gave me nightmares for weeks!

All those pictures / videos of DonOld partying with Epstein, the Access Hollywood Tape, the sexual assault decision, the documented grifting & corruption during DonOld’s administrations, the felony convictions for business fraud, the open bigotry & fascism, the crumbling economy, the immigration & deportation debacle, the foreign policy debacle (especially tariffs and Ukraine & Gaza), the defacing of The White House to build a gilded ballroom, etc, ignoring the environment and climate change, etc, etc, etc, sure provided a fuckton of material for those "psy-ops"…

Same here. Being from the North East USA, I've been aware of the combover clown for about 35-40 years. My friends and I always thought him to be an obnoxious asshole. I have always hated people who say, look at me, I'm the best, I'm better than any of you. This guy grew up wth Playboy magazine as his guide to a quality life. He saw himself as a playboy and got into pageants and modeling to give him easy access to young females

I grew up in a time when humility was an admired trait.

It would seem that America is getting tired of Trump's antics far earlier now than in his first regime.
At this rate by the end of next year only hardcore haters like CHAN and Ishmael might be his only supporters left.
