They mostly won't pay for college. We don't need and can't afford an entire nation of unskilled unemployable college grads. We need skilled workers who know how to grow our food, make and repair our products, and build and maintain our infrastructure. Two year programs in community colleges can cover some of that need, and the rest will more likely be apprenticeships and other on the job training.

Free school lunch becomes a moot point if nobody knows how to grow food and the schools fail to teach anything. Instead of free breakfast, we could have workers get paid enough to feed their kids, by insourcing our outsourced economy. Without the sugar and junk that cause overeating, kids can be fine with less food. Cutting out most of the veg fats and going back to meat fats, like saving bacon grease to use in something else later, is likely to be one of the steps that parents relearn to frugally feed their kids.

I'm not sure. So much of that is going to be mechanized or supplanted. It's still looking back.
