Fairhaven: D&D Based SRP

Ralak

As more of the group engages the remaining zombies, Ralak turns and moves towards one facing a guardsmen to lend a hand.

Dashing in with the tip of his quaterstaff, Ralak knocks a zombie off balance leaving it in the open and moments later, run through by a grateful guardsmen.

Arlen

Matt fires off waves of arrows, he grins and calls out to Arlen, "Wanna come and help me fire up a few more of these creatures?"

Arlen turns to Matt, " I can do more than just burn them darling... "

Arlen turns around to locate a zombie and walks towards it... she grabs three rocks from the ground and starts casting a spell... the stones in her hand begin to glow, charged with magical energy, Arlen throws a stone against a Zombie, the blow of the magical stone makes the Zombie fall back, only to stand up again... Arlen throws another stone at him, this time blowing of its head and leaving it dead.

" Of course I can do more than just burn them... nasty creatures... and how they smell... yuck! "

Ishkama

Lifting her blade, Ishkama goes to slice through a zombie, when one gets her from behind. Now flanked, she looses her balance and falls to the ground. She pushes her legs out, scooting herself away from the enemy and stands herself back up doing it so that she can turn and slice her blade through the one that had attacked her. She didn't notice the arrows sticking out of it until it fell. "Thanks! Do you see what you did to my outfit?" She yells at it.

Preparing for another bout, she lifts her blade again, going to slice another zombie when she realizes that a guard had gotten it from behind.

Matt

Matt chuckles lightly at Arlen's performance with the rocks. "Heh, impressive! Burn, implode, explode... doesnt matter... as long as they're dead."

Fireing a few more arrows in rapid succession, he continues to advance towards the very very few remaining undead creatures.

Fern Falconhand - Dalelands Ranger

Picking her way through the corpses Fern dispatches one of the final zombies who is attacking a city gurad, it falls to the floor in a contorted heap, 'Rest In Peace Finally' she whispers. As she decapitates the corpse with a final blow.

Looking around she surveys the body ridden battle field, and thinks to herself 'This could have been so much easier if the Cleric had at least attempted to turn a few of these creatures before hand'

She bent over the body of the fallen zombie and grasping its white robe wiped the blade of her sword once more.
Her comrades were finishing off the few remaining zombies
Turning to the guard she asked politely, 'Are you ok?', she ripped some strips of cloth from the dead zombie and proceeded to Bind the guards wounds.

City Guardsman

"A lot better than we'd be if you hadn't lent a hand, milady." He scowled at the Zombies littering the road. "Wish I could say this is the first time this sort of thing has happened. Ever since the old lord D'Arcie died, we've been up to our ass in undead... pardon the language."

Fern's attention drawn to the Zombies briefly, she noticed an amulet made of twisted, rusty wire around each Zombie's neck. It vaguely resembles a broken wheel.

Ishkama

Ishkama walks up to the conversation between the guard and Fern. "Well, luckily we came along or you would not have anyone to help. I thought you guys were supposed to be trained well?"

She looks around at the splattered remains of some of the fallen. "You said this has been going on a while? Who is Lord D'Arcie?"

Arlen

Arlen walks towards Ishkama and fern, who were talking to one of the city guards... she hears part of the conversation... standing out a certain name... Lord D'Arcie...

Arlen waits for the guard to answer Ishkama´s question...

Ralak

Seeing that the remaining zombies are no longer moving, Ralak decides to head back to the caravan and not join the others who are talking with the guardsmen, anything important Ralak hopes will be passed on afterwards.

Fern

'There we go, all done', Fern says chirply, finishing the bandaging of the guards wounds.

She turned her attention back to the zombie and signalled to the priest, 'Hey Arlen, come take a look at this' she indicates the amulet hanging around the Zombies neck without touching it, pulling the robes to one side to allow a bet view.

'Have you ever seen anything like that before?' she asked

Abraxas

with the last of the zombies dispatched, I walk over to Fern, looking for any damage besides her bruised shoulder.
" Anyone have any idea where these things came from?"

Matt

Matt walks to were his comrads stand with the Guard, to join in upon their conversation. Steping over a corpse of a dead zombie, he notices the amulet around each of the fallen undeads.
Feeling curious, he takes the amulet from the creature, and holds it out to show the others.
"Hey, take a look at this... What IS this, i wonder? Abraxas? Arlen? Fern? anyone know what this is?"

Fern

'I don't know Matt. Fern replied, 'That's just what I asked Arlen.

'I don't think it's a good idea to handle them though, not without taking any precautions, I mean they're probably evil, you never know if there's any dweamor on them. she continued, waiting for the cleric to answer her.

Ishkama

"Looks to be worth about eight silver. Nothing big to worry with, but I do agree with Fern, I wouldn't hold it."

Abraxas

I focus my will & empower my vision to see magical aura's.
" No Fern, they are not magical, at least not in any way i can detect."

Fern

Fern, narrowing her eyes and looking sideways as the magic user, stroked her chin slowly. 'Reaaally', she replies, ' I do love the way you qualified that with "not in any way i can detect" it's so reasssuring'. She smiles teasingly at him.

City Guard

"What are you folks looking at? Oh. Those medallions. Thought there might be something to them, myself, but the archives here in town don't show anything involving a broken wheel as a symbol. We think they're a Wizard's Mark, though why a Wizard would be fool enough to leave his mark on this kind of work..."

He shrugs, then yells at the closed stone gate.

"Awright, yeh can open the bloody gates, now! The bloody Zombies are stayin' down this time! .... Er, Pardon the language, ladies," He blushes.

Fern

'Well, I guess we should take a couple, perhaps they might come in useful somewhere', Fern looks over at Abraxax, 'Ofcourse if I get zapped taking this thing I WILL hold you wholly responsible for misinforming me'

Abraxas

OOC: Dangit Spectre! Those symbols are on the tip of my brain but I can't remeber what in the hell they are!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRR

IC: "would I do a thing like that???"
*innocent puppy dog look*

Fern

OOC: There is a wheel symbol used by Gond, in First Edition Forgotten Realms if thats any help. Gond is a lesser god worshipped by Any alignment as he is True Neutral. It is not unusual to see goods stamped with his symbol, He is the God of construction, smiths and wrights. If it's any help, but I don think these amulets have anyting to to with that.

IC: Fern unfastens the wire from around the zombies neck, 'The wire might be useful later', she explains to the curious Abraxas, watching carefully to see if his diagnosis was indeed correct.

Having taken the Amulet, fern turns it over looking carefully for any inscription or markings.

Narrator

Fern closely inspects the amulet, feeling a slimy, oily, uncomfortable tingling as she handles it. It's a little bigger than the plam of her hand, and other than the odd feeling she gets from handling it, she sees no markings on it.

Arlen

OOC: I was also thinking in Gond... but Its rather unlikely... I think...

IC: Arlen inspects one of the amulets... she closes her eyes and starts whispering... her hands move in the air, ahe turns her head to the sky and opens her eyes... focusing her sight in the amulet again...

OOC: Arlen casted a Detect magic... and she takes the necessary time to really inspect the magic wards in the amulet... if any...

Fern

'eeeeeeeeeew', Fern Shiveres, 'It's all slimey!', she felt a bit weirded and looks apprehensively at the magic user frowning.

She held the amulet by its wire loop up in front of Arlen, who was meditating in prepararation for a spell of some sort, What do you think Arlen?', she askes, 'I got a nasty feeling about it.'
