Unless you’re looking EVERYTHING up, and tied into some supernatural AI, there are strong glimmers of creative intelligence all over your work above. Don’t mean to embarrass you, but you’re a damn good writer with a solid grip on imagery at the minimum, something that’s out of scope for most people and all ai systems of my acquaintance.

Now who was the Queen of the Fairies again, someone tell me..? Titty-somebody, no..?

I'll get to the Bottom of this, even at the risk of making an ass of myself...

Titania is the queen of the summer court and Mab is the queen of the winter court.

Terry Pratchett's "Lords and Ladies" might offer inspiration.
These are classic Irish Fae, tall, beautiful, capricious, cruel, the reason people hide from noises in the night.
More Celtic than just Irish - Scotland has plenty of fae of differing types, too. And Pratchett also wrote Wee Free Men, dealing with a different take on similar tales. Of the two, both are great but I do prefer Wee Free Men’s take on the fae.

Look, as a passionate Pratchett fan, I was trying not to launch into my "OMG, NO ONE HAS MENTIONED PRATCHETT!!! HE'S THE BEST THING EVER!!! READ ALL THESE BOOKS NOW!!!!!" (Note the five exclamation points)
Lords & Ladies seemed most relevant but the Tiffany Aching cycle is amazing, especially Shephard's Crown. But Lords & Ladies was my first Pratchett, so I am biased.

Carpe Jugulum was my first. I do like how he expanded on the meaning of awesome and terrific in Lords and Ladies though.

Also, the activities Nanny Ogg apparently got upto with the horned lord in her youth. :sneaky:

As is your undeniable right, just as it is mine to sit over here and giggle about your relatively poor taste in such a rich body of work1 🤪

Nanny Ogg is amazing. I almost pity Casanundra, the step stool wielder was completely outclassed. If you haven’t read it, find a copy of her cookbook. Still makes me grin, remembering ‘bits’

Used to have the whole collection. Sadly I lost a few when we moved, but that wasn't one of them. We've even made a couple of the recipes, they're actually pretty good. Especially the baked potato one.

Like most of my library, parts regularly disappear into friends’ libraries and I restock the really, really good stuff. Pratchett is one author I keep restocking.

I never liked Pratchett I have read some Poe, Shelley and I love Stephen King not really classic but in years to come I think he will be one of the greats. Lord of the rings, labyrinth are also on my bookshelf

Oh speaking of witches and what not, one that fascinates me is Black Annis. Confusing origins though. Seen both England and the Scottish Highlands. Hard to find info on that one.
Oh I've heard of her, but not really much beyond the name.

Good one - although we're well past Midsummer!

I had a concept that goes something like this...

A lone guy goes hiking together with a couple and their (barely adult) daughter. Could be friends or coworkers or even relatives, or even just met on the trail, whatever. He eyes the Girl, but judge her off-limits at least situationally for communal reasons, but he's got a good look of her already, not naked, at most in a bikini. They make camp and our guy take off alone a bit, for firewood or even quick hunt or whatever, and is surprised to see Girl bathing in a waterfall nude, she's kinda couldn't get there, but he's too fascinated to not watch, and get nearly caught peeping, or not, he's unsure, but the bather leaves in a hurry, without even dressing as far he sees. Guy return to camp and try to apologize to Girl without saying anything too directly, but she appears just baffled.

At night however, a girl comes into his tent with undeniably amorous intentions, and he's unable to kick her out. It's quite into the act when it clicks to him that his guest is not the Girl, but a lookalike other. He's kinda relieved but a bit disappointed both, and doesn't kick out the Fae doppelganger either, but ends up a bit standoffish, why's the mimicry, who's she's at all and so forth, but gets no answers, she leave just as sudden.

That's just the first chapter, when he returns home, it turns out the Fae has followed him, and do exhibitionist and sexual stuff mimicking various women in his vicinity. At first just for him in private, but then with other people around too. By then our guy has got a knack to tell it's Fae almost instantly, but others do not and that lead to all sorts of complications with them and the women impersonated by the Fae. I mean, imagine a coworker, accountant, storm into a meeting naked and sit on his lap and he's like, Fae, not now please. Or she's looking like the boss wife.

And he's totally not in control of any of it, although actually it's always sorta his un-addmitted fantasies she's playing out, but she does whatever she damn wants, and he's totally baffled why or how he may get rid of her before she had ruined his life totally or even where's she goes when she's not doing her misdeeds, she just goes puff for all he knows, just to appear in the most wrongfully sexy way again later, unexpectedly and unexplainable.

That’s an awesome take on the fae. That kind of uncertainty - is this that fae or what? - is hard to do well, IMO.

I’d suggest at least one mixup with a ‘real person’, where he sees a copy of the woman he’s just cum in giggling at him before scampering off, perhaps, or an illusion of a neighbor’s daughter fades after orgasm to reveal that neighbor’s wife or even the male neighbor if you’re ok going bi.

If protag tries to ignore the opportunity the fae provides, have her/it up the ante- maybe get police called on protag for peeping on the neighbors? Or more, all while wearing the protag’s face.

If he ‘gives in’, I’d be torn between getting him hooked & wanting and disappearing or to take him thru a flood of sex impressions, a wet dream sequence if you will, and state or hint at his becoming fae as he plays with mortals, perhaps one that the original fae ‘modeled’ for him.

Yes, it's quite a high difficulty concept, and I'm "not an author" at all, I mean, I haven't written anything fiction to completion. I would just drown in worldbuilding just for all those crazy situations that take it apart, all for just trying to get to desired scenes.

That's the next escalation, when real women take opportunity to pretend to be the Fae and get away with crazy with or around him. And that's quite a difficult sell as concept too... but, building on my high school experiences, for example, no girl was interested in me until I got my girlfriend, and then there suddenly was much of teasing to the point my GF got convinced I'm fucking half the class, what wasn't true at all, but sorta could be, in her opinion at least. Something of that could play out here, he appears desired by several women to other women who may get interested.

And/or Fae may turn into an uncalled for ally getting girl(s) basically blackmailed into relationship with him, with of course is poisoning it for him too.

I didn't consider her impersonating him, or project making other people appear who they aren't, just straight up her taking any female form she prefers on a current whim. I would also insist she never appear/dissapear in sight, she always enters and leaves a scene normally, but may disappear right behind door or around a corner, and there's no way to keep her captive, at most, perhaps you can get to where she dissapear the moment you look away on a distraction, if that's explored.

I think there's several directions that could be explored.

One is, implying she's a materializing of his subconscious desires and imagination, he has to get control over those and focus, and do approach real women normally and directly and not exploit Fae as pornographic surrogate.

Kinda opposite traction is to learn to cooperate with the Fae, even if her motivation cannot be discerned. They may become a predator pair, perhaps before he realizes the way to true fulfillment is the above, although I doubt the Fae would ever go away, but there could be a final stable threesome, perhaps with hint it remains open.

As to his own magic, it's kinda tempting but I would prefer it kept at level of him able to recognize Fae (with or without limiting it to "his" Fae), but more feel too much just as is her doing projections of people upon other people, although if you play with this being all mind-control there's an organic question why not.

However, a breakdown of world rules is kinda given and part of the erotic escalation with the Fae going public. She's unaccountable and unstoppable and pretty much always nude and may inadvertently or rather not, normalize at least that in his environment.

Welcome to the club. :) I think most authors would agree that that's pretty dang common. Only way past is thru!

Yeah, protag should learn why the Fae were so feared for so long!

Would that action be an ally, or a predator? Procurer, at a minimum, I'd think.

Certainly one possible set of limits, but I'd suggest that the 'ineffable Fae' should have layers of exceptions & exclusions that are observed but not understood. Talk about the black iron foo dog statue in the neighbor's back yard, and make sure the fae never turns up in said back yard. Maybe green or orange is attractive and the opposite repulsive, never consciously considered by the protag but there's evidence in the actions of the fae?

Interesting, hadn't thought of the outcome(s) in quite that way. Could do both, even - who can keep complete control of their subconscious?

I'd suggest that there be audience-entertaining protagonist-wrecking complications in learning how to do this, tho' - perhaps getting caught and arrested as an exhibitionist, groper, raper, or the like?

Wasn't thinking of that transform as 'his magic', more like 'his curse' as the result if he accepts fae-ness, including all the odd rules & behaviors. Kinda like a succubus turning some guy lusting over her into an incubus, or weres/vampires, etc.

However, a breakdown of world rules is kinda given and part of the erotic escalation with the Fae going public. She's unaccountable and unstoppable and pretty much always nude and may inadvertently or rather not, normalize at least that in his environment.
Maybe. Fae've been playing games with humans here for how long? Do you think they might be able to handle avoiding tech one way or another? Maybe the Fae aren't limited to humans to muck about with and they've learned Tricks to handle technological doodads, perhaps?

No one's an author until they write something. Even if it's unfinished.

I think you should approach world building differently. Write unlike a book how it works. Build wonderfully complex tales in ways you understand. Short presentations, a mere single line, whatever helps you for and understand the world.

Then you'll put a story in it. Besides establishing a few things, like that there's fae, you'll let the story unfold. The reader doesn't know the full scope of your story, and that's fine. They can feel the rich story, getting fed more of it during.

Even something like the fae you can build in creatively. A simple "last summer we had some pixies roost on the common hall roof, causing havoc if we got too close," would be enough to introduce mysterious elements. The reader now knows there's fae afoot, but isn't overloaded with information. That way you don't need to resort to "there's a thousand fae in this world," then proceed to explain every single one in detail. We get to know part of the world through the perspectives of the people. One might be adoring the idea of the magical unicorn, while the next thinks they are overgrown vermin that has too strong magic, so he can't prevent them from eating their crops.

Well, apparently I find the fae too scary to be sexy. XD I give you Belka and his Witchling.

If I got anything wrong about Russia please lemme know.

Also, this is an adaptation to a toy fanfic I wrote for another site's contest about a year ago, but I might write more about them in the future, and I don't really like writing fanfics.
