Fame and Coffee (Closed)

Allie smiled and quickly learned the song from him. Soon, she was singing and he was playing with her. The whole thing felt so comfortable that she forgot that she was in the house of a stranger she didn't know. But a really kind stranger, who soon wouldn't be after their dates.

Soon, it was time for her to leave and Allie gave his hand a light squeeze. "Thank you so much. I live at the hotel just across your cafe," she said and got inside a cab.

The next day, Allie spent most of the day shopping for clothes appropriate for their date for 4 days. From the four dresses, for tonight, she picked out a simple blue Sunday dress and wore a bit of makeup with her natural tones.

It was a great evening with Aliie. To hear her voice on his songs, was something incredible. It meant a lot and he was incredibly thankful to have heard her do it. She shared pointers about the song and he tweaked the chords based on what she told him.

Sadly the evening had to end but with the promise of many more to come. Or five at least.

Jake spent the next day planning out what they would do. He wanted to make it special and unlike anything she had ever done before. When he picked her up that next night he wore shorts and a shirt. She wore a light dress which was good because it would be warm on the golf course.

"Hey Allie you look perfect tonight. I hope you are ready for some exciting mini golf." He teased.

Allie almost jumped from her bed when the lobby called in for a visitor that she told them she was expecting. Quickly, she went down and thought herself overdressed seeing him, but it was too late to change. Taking a deep breath, she approached him smiling. "Just in time!"

She grinned at his offer of mini golf. "Wow! I haven't played since I was a kid! I wasn't very good even then, but this should be fun," she nudged him with her elbow and followed him.

As they got to the course, she spotted a hot dog stand. "Can we grab a bite first?"

Jake laughed as she giggled in excitement over the mini golf. Then again at the hotdogs stand. Jake looked at her, "OH my God! Hotdogs? You are such an expensive date." He teased as he pulled into the parking lot.

They walked up to the counter and Jake nudged her, "Babe, you can even have a chili dog if you want." He told her, taking her hand he pulled her to the clerk. He ordered a Hotdogs with mustard and onions then gestured to his beautiful date. "And whatever my lovely date wants."

The clerks eyes widened as she recognised Allie. "Oh my God. Your her!"

Jake knew that Allie didn't want to deal with that shit today and he stepped it. "Jesus Jennifer everybody thinkshould you look like her. I don't even see it." He turned to the clerk. "What is it you see? Because she looks nothing like Allie. Have you seen my gurlfriend's nose? Too small and her eyes! Her eyes are totally a different color."

The clerk blushed in confusion and shrugged, "I guess so. I'm sorry what can I get for you?"

Jake smiled and have Allie a gentle slap on the butt. "Great, babe order me a Pepsi too yeah? I'm gonna grab a seat." Jake set a 20 dollar bill on the counter and went to grab a seat, feeling good about curbing Allie'so fame a little.

When Allie came to the table Jake stood and shook his head, "Hey sorry about slapping your assistance like that. I got caught up in the moment."

"I told you, I eat a lot." She stuck her tongue out at him.

As they ordered, the clerk suddenly burst out in recognition and she winced, but suddenly, Jake saved her in a very roguish manner and she couldn't help but laugh at his antics and in relief. "Yeah," she said riding his adlib, "I get that all the time."

She squeaked as he slapped her giving him a shocked look before turning back to the man as she grabbed the orders and the change. "Thanks a lot."

"You know, you really do look like Allie."

"Oh, well, you know the doppleganger theory right? That you look like someone else somewhere, I just got lucky, I guess."

"Yeah. My daughter's a big fan and I almost asked for the autograph of the wrong woman." He laughed at himself. "Anyway, thank you."

"Um...yeah. Thanks." As Allie walked away, she felt a little regret at not being able to give the man's daughter an autograph.

Soon, she found Jake and sat beside him. "Well, I have to say I was shocked. But, no harm done, right?" She handed him his hot dog and Pepsi. "I have to say though, I feel a little guilty. The man wanted an autograph for his daughter. Maybe you can come back when I leave and give him a signed ticket from the concert."

She took a bite of her hot dog and smiled. Sometimes, the simple things were better than fancy restaurants. Or maybe because it was the company she had.

Jake smiled and sat down with her. "I think sending him and his daughter tickets would be very nice. But don't feel bad Allie, you are not required to please everyone you meet. And there is no shame in wanting a little privacy."

Jake dug into his hotdogs and smirked at her. "For the record, you have a really nice butt." He told her with a wink.

After they ate Jake drove them to the mini golf place which was set up on the boardwalk so you could see the ocean from the course on clear nights. Again Jake paid and handed her a pink club and red ball for her to play with. He got a blue ball and black club for himself and off they went for hole number one.

"Alright cutie, why don't you go first and show me what you remember." He suggested.

"I guess that's why I'm so bothered by being famous," Allie sighed. "It feels like I have to share with everyone because it's because of them that I'm successful."

She followed him to the mini golf park and took in the scenery as they made their way to the first hole. She smirked at him and put her ball on the starting dot. "Well, mister prepare to laugh." She grinned and tapped the ball. It overshot the hole and hit the barrier behind it sending the ball back halfway near the hole.

"Hmm...I thought I was going to do worse, but I'll take that." She turned to him. "Your turn, maestro."

Jake smiled as he watched her hit the ball. "Well you hit pretty straight so that's good. But why you mad at the ball?" He asked teasingly, moving into position to hit his first shot. "The ball didn't do anything to you, be nice to it." Jake hit the ball much lighter than she had hit hers. His ball gently rolled directly towards the hole, pausing just a couple of inches away from being a hole-in-one.

"See? Be nice." He teased, brushing past her and letting his fingers brush through her hand. She wanted a date experience so he was treating her like any other girl he would date. Casual touches, like hand holding or gently running his fingers across her hips as they played. He wanted her to feel wanted, and to let her know that he was happy she was with him tonight.

It was a little sexual, sure, but if he was honest with himself he really would like to have sex with her. Who the fucking wouldnt? But he tried to keep joking and keep the sexual tension low throughout. He figured Allie would stop him if he went too far.

Allie was having fun throughout the night, teasing him back as she enjoyed his company. She noticed how he touched her though, and she would be lying if she said it didn't excite her that the touches were a little more intimate than what she thought a first date would be. Not that she really had any idea what a first date should be. All she went by were movies and she sort of didn't believe it happened in real life.

He kept on teasing her about how hard she hit and she couldn't help but reply saying, "Well, I'm a rough and hard kind of girl. Southern belle through and through. Y'all don't be messin' with a southern girl. We don't take kindly to softies," she said in a very emphasized southern accent.

The soon finished the holes just in time as the park was closing. "Wow! We've been playing that long? You're more fun than I thought you'd be," she stuck her tongue out and teased him.

Jake laughed and said, "Well golly gee darling thanks for thinking I'm so much fun." He mocked in a thick but very fake redneck accent. They made their way back to the drop off and gave back their clubs.

As they made their way into the parking lot the night breeze carried the scent of the ocean along with it. Jake leaned against the hood of his car and admired Allie for a moment. She was everything a man could dream she would be. The fame didn't mean anything, she was just a beautiful girl who wanted to have fun like anyone else.

"So Allie, you up for something else, or will you turn into a pumpkin if I don't get you to your hotel room by midnight?" Jake asked with a smirk, twirling his car keys in his hand.

Allie leaned over the rails looking at the ocean before her. The past three days had been some of the best moments during her career as an artist, because if she was going to be honest, all the fan love wasn't enough to make her happy for much longer than two years. She loved her fans, really, but she didn't like the fact that some of them didn't think she was human enough to have her own private life. Or that the paparazzi think that all celebrities are like caged zoo animals that can be taunted at every turn, which zookeepers can shoot down when they get violent.

Which made Jake special. He didn't treat her like a celebrity. He treated her like a normal woman. And it had been years since she was treated like that.

"Well, as long as you don't mind lugging a pumpkin along for the ride, sure," she winked. "I don't have long to stay so I'd like to spend more time with you."

Jake pondered that for a moment and pushed away from his car. "I don't think you would be a very heavy pumpkin. Let's go for a moonlight walk under the pier." He told her, pointing toward the boardwalk.

The night breeze on the beach brought cool air, and the sand was firm beneath their feet. "So why does the studio want you to make a love song so badly?" He asked her. "If it isn't something you want to write, how can they expect you to put any power behind it?"

He reached over and took her hand, to hold it as they walked. Jake as becoming more and more relaxed around her. He barely even registered that she was a famous star anymore. Now she was just a beautiful girl on a date with him. Even if it was a kind of fake date.

The light of the moon hid the blush that crept up her cheeks as he held her hand. In her other hand, she held the sandals she was wearing, liking the way the sand got in between her toes.

"It's a public demand," Allie shrugged. "At the end of the day, you might be the world's greatest artist, but if you don't do what the public likes, nobody buys your music and you will tank. For years I've survived singing about social ills and women empowerment, but I can only do that so far. Here and there, I've written about friendships and family, but a lot of people are just really in love with the idea of love. It's probably the strongest emotion that resonates with humans, which is why they stay in people's minds even after the singer is long dead. I guess, they want me to make my mark now."

Jake listened to her explain and nodded. She was under a lot of pressure to write what the producers and her fans wanted to hear from her. Her entire popularity relied on making people happy. It had to be a ton of pressure, all the shit she had to deal with. She had to stay on top of her music game, she had to stay in shape, and somehow stay in a pleasant mood when handling all the bullshit of people constantly wanting stuff from her.

"I can't imagine how hard it must be. Trying to please the entire world." He said nodding. "Can I ask you something?"

He paused as they reached the point on the beach where the pier loomed over head, several dozen tall, thick, wooden pillars held the pier twenty feet above their heads. The summer air was significantly cooler under there and the waves echoed around them.

"When was the last time to you got just enjoy yourself for the sake of enjoying yourself? A vacation? A little bedtime fun with a boyfriend? A visit with family? You sound like you've been so busy that your mind is overwhelmed when trying to write a song that's out of your element. Have you just thought you might need a break?" He turned to her and put his hands on her shoulders, "I mean a REAL break, not a week in some bunghole town like this, but like two months of just living your own life and not trying to live the life for your fans."

It was difficult to please people, but at the same time, she enjoyed it when they were happy. Sometimes, it did burn her out too, though. "Well, it's not so bad. When you see other people enjoying themselves, it eases all the fatigue."

They stopped beside a pier and Allie cocked her head as she listened to his question. "Hmmm...Time for myself? This is it. After every concert and album done, I get about a week or so to unwind. Most of the time, it's enough. My dad's often there in the studio, anyway and he's my only family. And if I did have a boyfriend, I wouldn't be here with you." She laughed, making light of his question until he held her shoulders prompting her to be serious.

"I never had time for that, I guess." Allie shrugged. "I don't think I can live any other life anyway. When I was a kid, I was always alone with my guitar anyway. It's not any different. It's just now, I have a lot of listeners, not just the four walls of the room where I play."

Jake couldn't believe how lonely her life sounded. Someone who was so well loved and surrounded by people all the time and yet, she didn't have anyone of meaning in her life. Of course, neither did he really. He hadn't had a girlfriend since college and even then it was somewhat of a one-sided relationship.

Jake smiled and put his arm around her, hugging her to him. "Come on, let's go sit on the dunes." He said, pointing to the large sandhills that had formed under the pier.

He helper her climb to the top of one and they sat together watching the waves roll in. "Well if it makes you feel any better, I've been pretty lonely too. My last girlfriend dumped me years ago, said I had no musical talent and I was wasting my life. She didn't want to be dragged down with me." Jake sighed and shook his head, "Guess she was right. My claim to fame is foam art at a dinky coffee shop."

He looked at her and smiled, "And I guess getting to go on a date with you. Excuse me, six dates technically." He smirked. "Which by the way, this is our second date and you know what that means right?"

Without waiting for her to answer, Jake swooped in and kissed her. He didn't care what she would think, or how she would react. She had wanted to feel like she was going on real dates, so he would treat her like they were really dating, which to him meant kissing on a second date at least. Maybe more depending on how good it went.

Allie's lips were soft and sweet against his. Her mouth was perfectly shaped to be kissed it seemed. He had never felt lips so soft before, it was something else to say the least.

Allie was surprised when he hugged her, but the warmth of that hug made her feel so good that she stayed there in his arms. She nodded as he proposed to sit with her in the dunes, holding his hand as she made her way up to sit next to him.

"Hey," she said as soon as he finished his story. "Your life story hasn't ended. Remember, I have your back now. If there's a perfect time your life to be in the industry, it's now. Everyone deserves a fighting chance, so I'll be your fighting chance. And I don't think it's just the foam art. It's also the way you treat everyone, and that's a great thing you should never let go of."

"Yes, six dates." She giggled as he pointed out that they were on a date. It did feel so much like a real date. Really real--even down to the chemistry between them.

"...you know what that mean, right?"

"Huh?" Her eyes widened as he kissed her. It was not forceful, but gentle, and the warmth she felt from his lips, transferred to her and went through her whole body. She didn't know how, but her worries about how first kisses should be and how it should go was lost to her. All she knew was that his lips were moving and hers followed, mimicking him.

She didn't pull away from his lips, that was always a good sign. Jake brought his hand up to cup her cheek as his mouth worked with hers. Soon his tongue was pushing into her mouth, tasting the singer, playing his tongue across hers. It was wonderful, better than any kiss he could have imagined or had before it.

It felt like they were both desperate, both in need of each other. Not necessarily in that primal sexual way either, although that was certainly a part of it. She needed him so she could feel the experience of love, and he needed her to make his dreams come true. She presented him with an opportunity of becoming someone of worth. Even if it meant writing music for other people.

Then there was the fact that she was extremely sexy and beautiful. She was kind and sweet, and so down to Earth about herself. Jake would be lying to himself if he didn't want to have sex with her.

Making out with her was also really really good. She tasted like pure sweetness and pleasure, the feel of her lips rolling through him and threatened to overwhelm him.

Allie was lost in the kiss. At the back of her mind, she knew her father would kill her if she knew, but the knowledge only fueled fire to her desire. It was kind of exciting doing something...bad for the first time. But it wasn't really bad, was it? She was on a date with an amazing guy--an honest guy--and it just felt so right to be kissing him like this.

Her lips parted as his tongue sought entrance, and slowly her mouth opened to let him inn fully. Her hand grasped his shoulder as new feelings rolled over her. Her stomach clenched, her heart was beating in her head and she felt...sensitive down there. Her tongue tentatively played with his and she felt like she was melting. On fire. She didn't want to let go.

But she had to she pulled away gasping for air. It was the first kiss she ever had and her inexperience showed as she didn't breathe during the whole thing.

Which was really embarrassing. So she bowed her head, not looking at him. "I'm sorry..." she whispered still breathing hard, but she knew not all of it was from the lack of oxygen. Needless to say, she was still feeling hot. Literally, despite the cool wind against her skin.

Jake chuckled as she gasped and pulled away from him. He had literally taken her breath away. Then it occurred to him, had she kissed anyone before? He hadn't taken notice at the time, but the way she was panting now was like she didn't know to breathe while kissing.

"I took your breath away huh?" He asked her with a smile. "There's a song just in that kiss alone." He teased, rubbing her back to make sure she was alright.

"You are a good kisser Allie, tastey too." He told her, hugging her against his side.

Jake took a deep breath and let the moment sink in. The sound of the ocean and the cool breeze washed over them, while they simply sat and enjoyed the moment.

After a while holding her, Jake rubbed her arm up and down, "Well I guess I should be getting you back. Wouldn't want to have to lug a pumpkin around." He chuckled.

Allie smiled a little at his little jab at her mistake. It wasn't a malicious jab and she appreciated that he thought nothing of it. And the hand on her back was definitely reassuring. She blushed at his compliment and, unfortunately she couldn't say anything back to go toe-to-toe with the compliment because she had nothing to compare it to. Instead, she said, "It felt really nice."

She had never thought of going out with anyone before because she didn't know what the hype was about. Now that she was in his arms, it wasn't the same safety that she felt when her dad hugged her. It was more...reassuring. It felt better, in a way. Not that she would replace her dad's hugs, but she knew she would miss this after she left.

The thought crashed the illusion she was creating. He would be gone and all this pretend would be all over. Strangely, she didn't want it to be over.

The time she was in his arms felt too short as he broke the silence with the proposal of sending her back to the hotel. She almost asked him to stay with her in her room to keep her company, but held back. That would probably be too forward of her and it might scare him.

"It's that late, huh?" She sighed. "Fine, we don't want the evil stepmother and step sisters finding out we're gone." But she didn't move even after she agreed. She really didn't want to go.

She didn't know if she was just falling in love with the idea of being in love with anyone or if she was really having feelings for him. For now, she didn't want to find out. All she wanted was to stay there until he made his move.

She agreed to heading back, but made no move to get up. It was as if she didn't want to leave yet, and it warmed him. So he settled in with her, giving her a squeezing hug to show he wasn't in a hurry if she wasn't.

Instead he struck up a conversation. "What do you wanna do tomorrow? We can go to the farmer's market, or if you don't mind a little drive we can hit up a carnival." He suggested.

After a moment's pause he chuckled, "Or we can roll around in bed and have an epic pillow fight." He teased.

Allie smiled. It had been long since she had been in a carnival. Besides, she wasn't much of a shopper so the choice was easy. "Carnival. It's much more fun."

She play punched him in the chest at the suggestion of a pillow fight. "We can do that anytime after any date. And after seeing your pillows, no offense, but the pillows in my hotel are fluffier so that should be our venue...that is, if you're up to it."

Jake laughed, "Those are man pillows, for manly-men!" He stood up slowly and helped her to her feet. "Come on let's go back inside before I have enough sand in my shoes to make a couple of milk jugs." He urged.

Jake took her back to the hotel, parking in the underground garage next to the elevator. He sighed and clicked the car off, sad to have the date coming to an end. He liked her, more and more with each passing minute. She was sweet, and mild mannered, and laughed at his jokes for some reason.

"So should I walk you to your room?" He asked her, wondering what would happen if he went upstairs.

Reluctantly, she went with him chatting about all sorts of things as they drove back to the hotel. She didn't know why but everything just felt right with him. He was funny, sweet and more on the cute side. And he was a man. Not like this city pansies who call themselves men. Just like a southern man who doesn't like guns and violence.

He asked her about going to her room. For a moment she chewed her lip. Well it wasn't as if he was going to hurt her. "What? Backing out of that pillow fight?" She taunted him sticking her tongue out.

She didn't know what she was doing, really. But she knew she wanted to spend more time with him, knowing that the next four days were going to be fast.
