Fantasia: Chapter Two (OOC)

I'm going to make a post this weekend but I'd like to know what we're planning first before I do it. Come on, guys. What's the plan? =)

I am more interested in staying at the camp and seeing what'll happen with Connell and the Werewolf Merc. If there is a good plan for Mai to be in the rescue mission instead, I'll do that. But I would like to know the plan.

Plan..Plan...We don't need no stink'n plan! :D

But seriously Plan of attack should be easy to work out. If the small army we now have is anything like a real one then, Weyland, Gillian and Mattroy lead a few NPC's to the castle by night. They should include a few scouts, Bowmen, and knights. Then Gillian leads in the scouts to try to infiltrate the jail/dungeon where Stephan is being held (and where we think Connall is as well) and try to bust him out. At the same time Mattroy and Weyland guard the entrance/exit.

We don't have to plan much.
A soldier will be disguised as Jorn and laid on the same bed as Jorn in his royal tent. Jorn will be taken to another remote location, still within the conference of the camp but one that only the three in Mattroy's tent will be aware of. What I'll have Mattroy do is keep Mai back at camp to prove her loyalty. She will be told to help watch after the supposed injured king... while we have three to four NPC soldiers positioned hidden on trees or camouflaged near the bushes watching the tent. From afar.

I'm assuming Connell will wait till the main party leaves the camp, question is, how did he know they will leave?

We won't be heading out tonight, 'cos practically speaking under this weather and due to the fact we haven't rested from the earlier battle, we'll be too tired to fight.
So we are going at dawn, but doesn't that mean we might encounter the head hunter?
just wondering...

I'm only going to say this in regards to the head hunter. You're being watched. ;)

What's the point of doing that when the camp is not that large? It would make as much sense as to create a double of Jorn to rest in the SAME tent so the killer will have to figure out which one is the right one to kill.

We don't even know that there is a killer/s out to get Jorn.

At best, our characters can assume that there will be a reprisal for the failed rescue attempt.

So, can we work out a way for Mai to NOT be tied up? I mean, she can get herself out. Ya know, I can work with it either way. If she's placed in the tent with Jorn as harmless because she's tied up, at least she will be close to the action when Connell makes his move. Or the Wolf merc.

Guys, since trying to decide how to go about rescuing Stephan has taken this long, I'm going to make a GM decision tomorrow. Whatever my decision will be is how it's going to go and everyone will just have to deal with it. I was fair and gave everyone a chance to talk about it and try to work it out, but it didn't seem like you guys were getting anywhere with that. So, to move us along, I'm going to make one tomorrow.

works for me

keep Mai in same tent as Jorn, less guards needed that way

I'm making some moves, I don't trust what the GM might have planned :) I'll continue my plan after V posts.

Regardless whether you trust my decision or not, you guys had since February 19th to come up with a plan to save Stephan. It is now March 25 and none of you have succeeded. Instead you want to just step over each other, plan what you want, and do what you want. I'm not going to allow that because all of that does is create chaos and screws up this game. If you guys can't plan shit together as a team, then I'm not going to let you guys do what you want.

Regardless what you and Vailyn both write, I'm not going to approve those posts because I already said that I'm going to make a GM decision, and whatever I decide is going to happen.

Sorry if that's the way it's going to be with a GM taking over because he can't be bothered then I am out. He has already ruined one of my posts because he didn't like what I did, so I have had enough of this bullshit. Sorry guys but enough is enough.

I didn't ruin your post. I posted a counter to your post because you can't take control of my characters to have them do what you want. It is disrespectful, and nobody should be doing that in this game. I won't allow it. If you shoot at a god, you're going to get your ass handed to you. Common sense. If you thought you'd get away Scott Free with that, then you're dreaming. This game isn't for everyone. It has a consequence machine that most games rarely ever have because the GMs try to please the world and make everyone like a Disney movie. This isn't a Disney movie. Your character WILL get hurt and WILL die if you fail to have them make logical decisions.

Any who, Kat may be returning to this game, so with Aus bowing out, it sort of works because I didn't want too many people in this game. Her character was a warrior mercenary so it just adds more to that class. Two knights and two warriors.

Now, my GM decision is this.

Mattroy, Weyland, and maybe Kat if she's coming back lol, this would have been Gillian are going to go save Stephan, so every post from now on should just be them executing that plan. You do have NPCs at your disposal. What remains of Ivorene and some other NPC mercenaries so you don't have to feel outnumbered. You can also use a NPC to act as an archer to cover Gillian's loss.

This leaves Mai and Connell at the camp with Jorn. Whatever happens at the camp, will happen. If anyone dies, then they do, but I already have spoken with sodalitas about the scenario that could potentially go down. As usual, things don't always go as planned because the characters have a mind of their own. But if Connell or Mai live, then they will join you at the castle as reinforcements to help you guys with rescuing Stephan.

I hope this decision has set everything straight. Everyone can just move forward now instead of argue who is going where and doing what. Or try to just not be a team and do your own thing, which could not just get your character killed but also break the team cohesion of this game.

From now on, if you guys can't make a team decision, and I will give you guys time to work out a plan, but from now on for the sake of continuation, I will make a GM judgment if I feel you guys aren't moving forward or coming to a verdict.

Hang on Hot how did I control your character. I had Gillian shoot at the witch and then the executioner from far away. Suddenly spider sense like she is sending them back at me and hitting me with no problems, and nothing was said about the arrows aimed at the executioner.

So who controlled who. I did as the story line said. Save Jorn, distract witch, kill executioner. You are the one saying every post has consequences but you have ideas where the story is headed and if we do something that doesn't agree with that then something drastic happens. That is what pisses me off. A GM guides does not take over for fucks sake.

Besides if this witch is a god then what is the fucking point of the game. Stephan would have already succumbed. No mortal could resist a god. Don't give me the argument oh he is a priest so he has the protection of his god bullshit. His god is far away, she is right in front of him. Power levels are vastly different. Boom he is fucked and literally fucking her, bring on the baby of the apocalypse. So is she a god or not?

And actually, a leader/GM, does take over with a GM decision when the game does it move forward or the group doesn't come to an agreement.

If you want to analyze that post, we will. Just give me one minute to get online because I've been posting from my phone. I will tell you exactly what happened in that whole conflict and you will either see how it made sense or stubbornly refuses to believe it and continue to whine about how the GM uses a consequence machine.

Aussie_Wolf’s post for Gillian:

1) Gillian was surprised to encounter no one as he made his way up through the tower. He would have expected at least a few guards inside and he began to get a little worried. Just what was going on in the courtyard that had drawn everyone outside. Either the attack was going very well and they needed every soldier they had to repel it. Or it was going so bad that they all wanted to see the rebels get slaughtered.

Either way it was a blessing in disguise for him. He made it up to the gate tower without anyone spotting him. It too was empty, but through the open doors on both sides he could see archers firing down into the courtyard.

The good thing was they had their eyes firmly fixed downwards and were not looking around. Gillian could kill them now but that would only draw attention to himself and for now he did not want that.

Sneaking out the door closest to him, he climbed easily to the top of the towers roof and hid in the shadows. 2) The rain and gloom easily hid him and he looked down into the courtyard to observe what had happened since he had slain the executioner.

What he saw was a scene of chaos. The executioner was still walking and trying to pick up his axe, but Gillian was certain his shot had slain the man. Emeline, the lady they had come to rescue, was dead and the witch was feasting on her blood. Jorn was yelling out her name and rushing towards her holding a Javelin stained in blood, while blood flowed from a wound in his back and the King himself strode forward to meet him.

He could not see Stephan, Connell or Mae but assumed they were down there somewhere. From the looks of things he had few choices. 3) The king was too well armored for him to even think of attacking, so that left the witch and the executioner again. Both of these targets must have some form of magical defense. The witch certainly but he had no idea how the executioner had survived.

They were to far away for his magic to reach them, and besides the only plant life he could see was some of the wooden planks on the platform and the rope, and they had been dead far to long for him to be able to manipulate.

He had one course of action left. 4) Placing his arrows beside him and sticking them into the roof slightly, he gauged the distance to the witch. Shooting in these conditions was tough but he had mastered it a long time ago. Then looking at the shambling figure of the executioner, he saw what he was going for and a plan formed in his mind.

5) Taking a calming breath he steadied himself, then his hand became a blur. He sent seven arrows angling towards the witch. Three aimed for her chest and four for her head. Three of which are designed to arrive at the same time as the ones aimed at her chest. The fourth is aimed much higher and will land several seconds later. He is hoping to catch her off guard as she looks around for the shooter. Even if it doesn't get her in the head, he is hoping to hit some other part of her body and wound her in some way.

6) He then turns his attention to the executioner and fires off nearly all of his remaining arrows, fifteen in all. His strategy is different here. Gillian doesn't know why the big man is still moving but it is obvious magic is involved. Even while he was observing him he could see that his head didn't look right. So if he couldn't kill him, he would try to stop him. His arrows were aimed at his feet, knees, hands and elbows. Two each at his knees, two each at his feet, one at each elbow and one at each hand. The last three were aimed at the axe and he put his full draw behind and aimed extra carefully. He wanted to pin or destroy the handle of the axe the big man was going for.

7) Once all his shots were off, Gillian strapped his quiver back on his hip and placed his bow on his back. He had six arrows left, but he had seen more inside the tower. He hated using ones he had not made himself but he would make an exception in this case. First though he would have to clear an escape route for the others. If they stayed in that courtyard they would die, and if anyone on the wall realized this and tried to drop the portcullis it was all over.

Drawing his sword he slipped back into the gate house and locked the two doors quietly. Then after filling his quiver again he looked around, searching for some way to sabotage the portcullis's mechanism so that they would not be able to lower it.

GM Post after the round had finished:

GM
Mila
Time of Day: Night
Weather: Heavy Rain and Cold (not frosty)
Prominent Characters Mentioned: Emeline, Dark King Howne, and The Witch.
Player Characters Mentioned: Gillian, Jorn, Stephan, and Weyland.

1) The moment the archer chose to attack the witch was when he made his most grave mistake. After loosing his arrows, 2) he would feel a controlling power clenching his body like a giant ethereal fist. For a brief moment in time, everything stopped—the rain, the soldiers, his allies, the executioner, and the king…but Gillian could see down on the stage, the witch lowering the head of the goddess.3) She cast her white eyes up at Gillian as though she knew where he had perched all along when really he had just drawn attention to himself. Emeline’s head thunked upon the stage at her feet and she held out her hand in the elf’s direction, dark fingernails pointed like knives at him. 4) Her glistening, blood-drenched lips puckered with the most sinister smile as one of the seven arrows was sent whizzing back to pierce him just beneath his ribs. A second arrow followed to strike his shoulder, and when she sent the third arrow it missed to her surprise, whizzing passed his ear. The frozen dimension collapsed then, his other four arrows falling aimlessly to the street. The witch realized that she hadn’t absorbed quite enough power from the goddess’s fresh corpse, and glaring at the injured elf, he had only a minute to escape the rooftop before she caused it to combust into flames.

Meanwhile, the executioner hand had missed his ax by a second before it was snatched up by the warrior Weyland. The executioner seemed to slowly draw his hand back seemingly stupidly and turned to confront Stephan without his weapon. He saw the man on the ground and unconscious and eagerly trudged toward him. Stephan was quick to recover before the executioner could reach him on stiff rigor mortis legs. The bones in his legs were resounding with sickening cracks as he forced his dead limbs to work beyond their expiration. As the cleric faced the executioner with his mace charged with determination, the executioner raised a hammer-like fist and paused when a javelin ripped through his back and erupted with a spark of blood from his chest. His limp head flopped forward as he gazed down through his sack cloth mask at the tip of the spear, which had lowered his head within opportune range of Stephan’s mace. The weapon struck home, ripping his head from his rotting shoulders and sending it bouncing off the stone wall of the stage. The executioner’s raised arm went limp. The giant’s legs buckled and his mass went tumbling forward like a tree crashing against the earth.

The undead executioner had been slain, which left the king who was approaching Stephan from behind. The cleric had been too busy with the zombie to notice him whilst he worked his way to confront Ivorene. He reached out with his hand to grasp the back of the cleric’s collar and his sword was cranked back with every intention of driving him through the back and ending his life. It seemed that the longer the party lingered the more and more their lives were put at risk.

Weyland’s attempt to stall the portculiss from collapsing were successful. The beam he had procured halted the gate, which angered several guards who went charging in his direction. There were five Milian warriors seeking to knock free the post to trap the heroes within.

Strategy Update!

1. The king has entered the fight. Although he is invulnerable, he can be stunned or halted.
2. The Undead Executioner is dead again!
3. Everyone is allowed only one post per turn. A GM post will be posted to reset the turn.
4. Attack only the enemies given to you by the GM. If no enemy has been given to you directly, then you may select up to two opponents and no more.
***5. Save Stephan!
6. Mission Failure! ESCAPE OR BE KILLED/CAPTURED!

Minions Update!
The GM will send a certain amount of enemies your character’s way. Do not create your own enemies. Do not reward yourself exp for slain enemies. Only the GM does so.
Ally/Enemy Soldiers 2 xp.
Ally/Enemy Archers 2 xp.
The Undead Executioner 10 xp.
King Howne - cannot be killed at this time. Steer clear of him!
The Witch - I thought it was obvious, but don't screw with the witch!
Stephan Rescue 10 xp.

Reminder

Every character who joins this game will be given 5 stat points to distribute through the 5 attribute categories. All characters start at Level One, and as they earn experience, they have the ability to level up. Each time a character levels, the player will earn 5 stat. points to arrange how they like. A cleric can be customized to also pack whopping magic damage or to be as much as a tank as the knight. This game is your oyster.

Experience is awarded two ways: 1) In-game when bosses—main or minor—are defeated, and 2) by player word count. I reward literacy. The player and the GM will keep track of the experience points achieved. Every experience bar starts at 10 experience for level 1. As players level up, the experience bar will extend by 10. So for example, the experience bar of a level 2 character is 20. This means that a character must earn 20 points worth of experience in order to advance to level 3.

300 words = 1 experience point
500 words = 2 experience points
1,000 words = 3 experience points

You can keep track of your acquired experience by posting the points at the end of your post, or by writing it to your character’s character profile.

Awarded Experience

Stephan (Undead Executioner) = 10 xp

Jorn (Undead Executioner) = 10 xp

Collen (1 enemy guard) = 2 xp

My Comments

These comments correspond to the numbers and bolded statements you can find in both posts. The first set of comments is for Gillian's post, and the second written under GM post, are comments made on my post.

Gillian's Post

1) If the GM didn't specifically give you NPCs to fight, you were allowed to NPC up to two enemies that your character could have fought to compensate. Those two enemies were meant to be the lesser enemies such as the Milian soldiers that were all over the place.

2) I wanted to point this out because your ungrateful, exp-hungry ass was the one who slayed The Executioner successfully when he was alive and got experience points for it. But I guess that wasn't enough because you wanted to go ham on the undead executioner AND the goddess at the same time. Greed.

3) What I don't understand here is...if Gillian saw that attacking the witch wouldn't have been a good idea, then why do it? Just why? You screwed yourself because your character clearly knew that it would be a bad idea.

4) And yet he still plans to attack the witch, smh. I smell overconfidence.

5) Here it is. The moment we were all waiting for. This was the paragraph that did it and the main topic for our analysis. Let's read it together.

Gillian, using his elvish dexterity, sent seven arrows at the witch who was his "FIRST TARGET." He sent three aimed for her chest and four for her head. And they were all meant to strike her simultaneously.

This sentence here is where you control my character: "He is hoping to catch her off guard as she looks around for the shooter." You had planned in your mind what YOU thought would be the result of your character's actions. However, you do not control the witch. The GM does and you did not read my mind at all. Mind-reading does not work on the internet. Just saying.

6) You attacked The Executioner second. We don't need to go into detail with this one because I'm about to show you why this action became irrelevant. So let's skip on down to the GM post where I write a response to Gillian.

GM Post:

1) I reveal to you that by attacking The Witch you done jacked up.

2) The Witch just froze time, which means Gillian like everyone else is frozen. So that whole thing about, "I had Gillian shoot The Executioner after." It never happened. It never happened because after attacking the witch, which is what you had Gillian do FIRST, the witch immediately attacked in return. Because those arrows never struck her, which was what you had been hoping would happen. The fact that you left the results of your post vague told me that you didn't know what would be the consequence of your actions. Well, I am showing them to you now because you clearly did not understand that then.

3) The witch sees Gillian.

4) The witch sends the arrows back. The first arrow pierced him just beneath his ribs. The second arrow pierced his shoulder. The third missed him because by then her frozen dimension collapsed because her godly powers weren't fully developed yet.

The reason why your attacks, and I repeat this again, on The Executioner weren't mentioned was because in time, in logic, and due to Gillian attacking the witch first, his attack on the Executioner never happened. Gillian was unable to follow through with his second attack because he was caught in the frozen dimension the witch put out in response to his initial assault on her. When the dimension fell, if Gillian chose to attack The Executioner, which would be unlikely because he was wounded as a consequence for attacking a character who should have never been your target to begin with, if he had chose to stay on the roof to try through the pain of his wounds to shoot the executioner, then he would have been burned alive. Becuase she lit that rooftop on fire.

Now let's go back to your post.

Gillian's post:

7) Yes, let me just shoot the witch and the executioner and go on my merry way as though nothing will happen to me. There aren't any consequences in this game. There isn't a GM in this game. I can make things go conveniently how I want them to go because that doesn't make the game challenging at all. It just makes it convenient and easy. (sarcasm)

I'm not even going to continue analyzing this post because after he attacked the witch, everything just changed. It all changed because this stuff didn't even happen.

But I hope you understand, and if you don't, I know everyone else will. It all makes logical sense.

Gee is that why I changed my response in my next post to represent this. No..well dah. As for controlling your character I wrote it so I didn't. Notice I wrote "He is hoping to catch her off guard as she looks around for the shooter." Not that he did. Hoping means that you have autonomy over your character. Caught would have meant that I would have controlled your character. Hell if you do not understand English how can you run a game. You even admit that I do not control your character.

"The fact that you left the results of your post vague told me that you didn't know what would be the consequence of your actions."

That is how you are supposed to play the game. Post you're side of the action and let the other person post their response. So you have just contradicted yourself. Either I controlled you and knew how the post would turn out, or I kept it vague and let you show the consequences. You can't have it both ways.

Now why I say my arrows on the executioner would have hit is that my ability allows me to fire of a significant amount of arrows at the same time. Thus all arrows would have gone out. However that is just quibbling and can be a judgement call so I will give you that.

As for your argument of why go for the witch at all and I must be XP hungry, what were the choices. Let's see, Operation save Emeline the whole point of this RP. Dead. Save Jorn, He is rushing towards the witch and king. In Gillian's mind he has two targets in that situation, a fully armored knight, or a magically (maybe) protected woman. Better the woman. Then the executioner. Well he killed him once he can do it again. You play your character not to XP standards.

Dude, this argument is over. You're just doing what I said you were going to do and argue about the consequence machine. You even said what I told a friend of mine in IM what I knew you would try and say to cover your ass, that Gillian fired his arrows at the witch and the executioner at the same time, which I said if you were going to make that claim, which you did, then you might as well leave the game because that's a level of bullshit that I'm not even going to bother with.

So if you're out of the game, then just leave and stop bitching. You're wasting your time. Not mine.

We're going to be moving on, so how about you do too.

No I think I will stick around now just to see what other bullshit I can call you on. So far you have not responded to two of my points.

Oh and as elves have the ability to put at least twice as many arrows in the air as a human (which is 3 by the way with a long bow for a reasonably long distance) I would say a regular elf could put 7 in the air no problem.

as such if you read my Char sheet.
Quick shot. Gillian has the ability to fire arrows at a rate that is double that of a normal Elf even, making him a formidable foe.

My post was entirely possible.

But as I said let's not quibble right.

You're not going to be in this game dude. You can post in it all you want, but I'm just going to report the posts and you to administration. If you're not enjoying this game and you don't agree with how I run it, then you don't need to be in it. And you're not going to be in it anymore.

That's what I thought you would say. You can't refute my points so it's "go away".

I'm reposting my GM decision now that the nonsense is over and done with. I don't want everyone to get held up because I know soda will want to have Connell make his move when Mattroy and Weyland have left the camp. Stalzyn and Rom, it's however you guys want to go about sneaking into castle. I'm waiting for a response from Kat to see if Mae is coming back, so until then, it'll just be you two and the NPCs lol.

sodalitas: Would Connell have still freed Mai even if Weyland and Mattroy were already gone? Or would he have just carried out the murder attempt?

Hey quit it you two. Come on Hot, let the dude stay if he wants, as a GM, you have the right to manage your game the way you want...and Yes if any isn't fine with your decision the person can take a hike, however, Aussie has decided to stick around following the rules so don't be so adamant that he should leave... come on we're all pals here.
By the way your final judgment was my decision anything Lol.

Hey, guys, I can't post until the rescue party leaves. So uh, I'll be waiting for that. =D

I need 3 more points and than I can level up! I guess I could make a post that doesn't do anything? Er...
