Al'ika woke up and seeing Keth was still asleep, began to dress and cook a simple meal of meat, cheese, and bread.

"Morning," Al'ika said with a smile. "I'm afraid it's not much, I need to go shopping soon. But there's enough for everyone, even Bek and Kat. Do you want to call them?" she went over to a cupboard and pulled out mugs as well as a flagon of honey mead.

Keth did as he was asked and soon everyone had eaten. It was very cramped in the small house. Keth sent his children off to do their duties and said, "What work needs done?"

Al'ika sat down with her mead and thought for a moment. "Honestly, a lot, I haven't been home in a long time," she said quietly. "The garden needs to be weeded, the fruit picked, the shopping needs to be done, I have a leak in my roof somewhere, my firewood's getting low, the basin for baths needs to be brought inside, my sword needs cleaned and sharpened. . ."

Keth said, "Keth do repairs," and set out into the forest with an axe. He cut logs and shingles, and brought back some logs to make an orc sized bed with. By midday, he had completed all of it and installed the bed.

Al'ika in the meantime, had gone out to the garden, weeded it, and picked the fruit all by midday. She was impressed with how much Keth got done. "I'm slacking," she admitted.

Keth showed her inside and showed her the new bed. "You like?" he said. "Getting mattress later."

"It looks great," Al'ika confessed, smiling. She began putting the reaps of her garden away. "I'm going to go shopping in a little bit, do you want to bring the basin inside? And is there any specific meat that you want?"

"Usually just eat what I hunt," said Keth. He dragged the basin inside. "We go to market?" he said, picking up some spare bags to carry supplies in.

"Of course. And I'd hunt, if I had the time for it," Al'ika said. "But my first stop will always be to the blacksmith." With Keth following her, she made her way to the blacksmith. "Hey! Edioz! I need you to work on my armor!" she called into the blackened forge.

Edioz left his anvil and came out to greet them. "Welcome, always good to see my favorite customer, Al'ika!" he looked up at Keth. "And you've brought another sword arm with you! What a good day. Come in, and let me know what you need." When they got in, he said, "You know I'm not one to judge, but word has got around the town and the rumors are flying. Some say you're his slave. Just thought you might want to deal with that." he began sharpening her blade. "You've seen more action than I'd like, but your blade has served you well."

Al'ika rolled her eyes. "The rumors can fly, I will deal with them if they get out of hand." She slipped out of her armor, her tunic flapping in the breeze, and put it down on a separate table. "I became friends with Ashglow's mace, sorry my sword's looking a little worse for wear. Plus, stabbing Flish didn't help matters much."

"You're lucky to be standing then, if legends about Ashglow are true." He began hammering on the dents in her breastplate. When he finished, he said "No charge today." He looked her over like a concerned uncle would. "You've grown into a strong woman, and I trust your judgement. Send him in so I can repair his gear, too." Soon Keth had his weapons and armor reforged. "Market time?" he asked.

"Of course," Al'ika replied. She kissed the blacksmith's cheek in thanks. "Thank you, Edioz," she said smiling. "When I've made some rabbit stew, I'll send some your way." And with that she and Keth headed off toward the market.

Keth got the mattress and blankets and tied them in a roll over his back, then assisted in the grocery shopping. He got pretty excited when he tried bacon. "What meat is this?" he asked.

"It comes from a pig. We take the stomach, cut it into strips and this is the result," Al'ika said with a laugh and a smile. "It's called bacon." She began selecting her cuts of rabbit, deer, pig, cow, and goat, making sure to get plenty of bacon. "It's delicious with eggs."

Keth, having not eaten too much processed meat, grinned toothily and took his share of the parcels. "We eat well tonight," he said.

"Yes, we do, and for many nights to come," Al'ika said with a smile. She went and got a few different cheeses and some milk from the local farmer, who gave her some freshly turned butter as graitude, and then she made her way to Father Hallowbrooks. Arriving at his church, she handed the basket to Keth. "Would you mind waiting outside?" she asked quietly. At his nod, she entered and slid into a pew in the back, waiting for the priest to arrive.

Al'ika sat in the chapel for a while, just relaxing, before spotting Father Hallowbrook. Nodding slightly, she knelt and meditated, waiting for the priest to come over.
