"How do you think I learned, Slave?" he asked menacingly. He redoubled his efforts, viciously making her pay for her impertinence. When he was done, he yanked the releases, making Al'ika collapse to the floor. "So, now that you're a brilliant red color all over, what should we do next?"

Al'ika laid on the floor for a moment, letting relief that the whipping was over wash over her before propping herself up. She tossed her hair back over her shoulder and looked up at the goblin. "How about a nice warm hot bath and some soothing cream?" she asked sarcastically.

Rolling her eyes, Al'ika looked around before jerking her head to the horse. "The horse, fiend," she growled.

The orcs returned and chained Al'ika's arms over her head, hoisting her high into the air. Xur smiled a minute. "Get the pointy seat," he said. They came back with a triangular seat, with a dull point at the top. They slowly lowered her onto it, but didn't le the point pierce her, instead letting her land on the small skin between her two orifices. "If you can go an hour without letting this point fuck you, you can go back to your nice cell," Xur said, "But if you can't the boys get your ass." Goblins came in and wild betting started.

Al'ika gave a grimace of determination. "Challenge accepted," she said. Taking a deep breath, she let her mind calm down and imagined she wasn't in Ashglow's dungeons, being tortured by goblins, that she was working on something that required precise balance. Entering a state of meditation, she felt herself relax, but not so much that she couldn't keep the precarious balance.

Half an hour went by and she was jerked out of her meditative state by a loud clanging. She jumped, but didn't allow herself to be impaled. Breathing heavily, she stared at a point on the wall, waiting.

A goblin moved to poke her, but was immediately pummeled by his friends, who apparently wanted a clean bet. "Xur looked somewhat stunned that she held out after all that. "A half hour to go, I hope you are practiced back there," he said. "The troops haven't had a human ass in quite some time."

Al'ika ignored Xur's comments and kept focusing on that point on the wall, not letting her concentration break. Her body was sore and covered in welts, she felt like a tree fell on her, but for her, this wasn't a physical game. This was a mental game, and so she washed everything out and focused.

The hour passed and Xur finally ordered, "Cut her down. She won." Money was exchanged and Al'ika was let down and releashed and shackled. Xur led her back to her cell roughly. "Well, you cost me a lot of money, but As a consolation, I have you the rest of the week. I will honor the deal and put you back though." He kicked her into her cell and slammed it behind her. He threw in a highly bruised apple and some meager bread. "Eat up. I want you ready to go to play again tomorrow."

Al'ika ate some of the bread, needing the nutrients after the hell her body just went through. Curling up the best she could on the pile of straw, she began to cry softly, wishing that Ashglow was dead so she could help her friends. She imagined drawing and quartering Xur, and the thought made her smile. She fell into a light doze, warm for now from her newly bruised skin.

Halfway through the night, a loud banging came at her cell door. "Up, slave, me want you!" boomed a familiar voice. Get back now!" the door opened, revealing a very gruff Keth.

Al'ika wearily got up and went to the door, where Keth waited, snarling a little bit for show. She held out her wrists, so he could drag her along.

Keth dragged her to his room as various guards swatted at her sore body on the way. Keth let them in and locked the door before uncuffing Al'ika. "Goblin is good at job," he said, looking her over. He pulled out a jar of salve and picked up Al'ika, laying her on her front on the bed. He rubbed it into her, and the pungent smell of earthy spices washed over her. "This make you heal," he said."

Al'ika nodded and let him put the salve on. She recognized the earthy spices, having made this salve herself. She seethed and writhed a bit, the salve stinging her wounded flesh, but she didn't give Keth too much trouble. "Thank you," she whispered.

"You welcome, pretty human," Keth replied. Something was different about tonight. It wasn't often an orc seemed liked something was on his mind.

"Is there something wrong?" Al'ika asked softly. She turned her face to look at him, her voice concerned.

"Yes," he said slowly. "Bek and Kat, boy and girl. Kept so I do job." Keth sighed for a minute before rolling Al'ika over and starting on her front. "Help me, we all get out."

"How can I help you? In the dungeons, my magic is very weak," Al'ika whispered, suddenly gasping loudly as he rubbed the salve over a very sensitive area. "And I don't have my sword, or my quiver and bow. . ."

"Xur get sloppy after a few days, faster if he think he winning," Keth said. "May be unpleasant but will work."

"So you want me to. . . submit to Xur? Or go even further and beg to serve Ashglow?" Al'ika was thinking of how to help the orc who has helped her. She shivered slightly at the thought. "I'm not sure if I could do that fully, but I would do my best. He shouldn't have taken your kids. . . What about their mother?" She asked gently.

Al'ika realized that the only reason he served Ashglow was because he has the orc's kids, and she forced herself to calm down. "Knife, what knife?" she asked softly. She sat up a little bit, wincing.

"Xur carry weapons. Trick him, get weapon," he replied." he finished with the salve and put it back. "What I do for you tonight?"
