Favourite Negative Reviews

The one which made me scratch my head (and is no longer there as I assume someone else reported it, since I don't delete comments left on my stories) was a random slagging from an anon who wrote something akin to, "Rubbish. This belongs in the beano."

I've no idea at all what it meant. I am aware of two Beanos: the gas-reducing drops one can dribble on food, and the UK-based comic magazine. Given this was left on an I/T story, something tells me the comic mag wouldn't have published it unless "Dennis the Menace" has gotten a whole lot stranger. :)

Here it is, more than two years later, and I'm still clueless. Anybody care to venture a guess?

Based on the fact that they said "rubbish", it's likely they're British. Which probably means they were referring to the magazine, and they probably they found your story childish. Of course, I'd take any criticism from some anonymous loser who writes such vague critiques with a grain of sand.

I sometimes think there's a small but zealous group of jilted husbands who lurk on all erotic fiction websites, just waiting for loving wife stories they can rage against.

Not just wives. That faction will target any story where they see the woman as some kind of slut or even better...she is in charge and doing what and who she wants.

This was one I got on a story about a young man who finds out his friend's mother is an escort.

just a cheap nasty fuck slut whore

he had his ride time to let the slut go and go find a woman his own age who will be true to him and not fuck around....besides he does not know what STI's she will pass on to him or even give him AID's....nasty cheap slut who belongs in the gutter...

I'm curious....what's an STI? Is that like an STD?

I posted MY I REMINDS ME OF PILETTE AND TACOBELLE. I couldn't help myself.

"Sexually Transmitted Infection," but then maybe not. Maybe it's "Short Term Incentive" and he's wondering what kind of performance bonus she will give him.

I'll go with the second because as we all know most of these people spew out of anger that the story they're bashing really turned them on:D

Are you asking a legit question, or are you just being a smart-ass?
Edit: never mind, you answered that question already

STI= Sexually Transmitted Infection

The term is becoming more popular because infected persons do not always display signs and symptoms of their infection, and said infection may not result in what would be a perfect definition of a "disease." It's kind of a scare tactic to make people think more about screening and testing because the word disease lets them assume they would know whether or not they have something without being tested.

Yes Miss Ashunwhy I was being a smart ass. I'm just incorrigible like that. I like to see who runs to google to try and show the class how super smart they are.;)

That was beyond silly and NOT in a good way.

You know nothing, John Snow.

Some of us don't need Google to show off; some of us talk to other human beings every once in awhile and accumulate knowledge that way. ;)

Is that something you read, or something you wrote?:D It's doesn't seem to have your usual flair for romanticism, but then, there IS that other side of you...:cattail:

Totally made up.

Hmm. A negative comment with a bit of romanticism. That's a tough one.

How about (from a guy), "Scarlett, I read your story and frankly, my dear, I don't give damn."

Okay, totally ripping of Rhett Butler.

This one (obviously from a woman) is original. "After you're first story I was ready to have your babies. Now after your second story I realize that it would just be a pity fuck.

"Oh what they hell. Come here baby."

See, it's got the early interest and the build, then the challenge to their relationship and finally a happy ending. :)

It occurred to me that trolling pays about as well here as authoring. Maybe Lit needs a new category in the readers choice contest. "Most influential troll."

I vote for the commenter who came up with 'Eat my used condom, you cucky bitch!' He gets around and touches on so many writers works.

My story"When We Get to San Francisco" is about an abortion, so of course it's attracted it's share of haters. They're the only ones I delete - I won't have anti-choice propaganda on my pages.

One of my numerous stories about women with big bushes got a comment to the effect that my heroine probably had crabs, but that one got deleted by someone else.

Some of these are very funny. :D

I see a couple of references to comments getting "deleted by someone else." That surprises me, I didn't realize that was a thing; I though authors had sole responsibility for deleting comments or not.

If someone reports certain posters for nastiness to laurel, she will sometimes delete everything they have posted.

Well, here we are again, NW. You DO leave me speechless at times. (That female comment deserves an award actually...women can be viciously compassionate at times.) I still say it's the boots, baby. Yee-haaah! :D:kiss:

I had one that was posted against my story 'Pretty Paula's Poodle Skirts' that made me laugh, although the comment was since removed, not by me but maybe by the poster or an administrator. I committed the terrible sin of having the two characters use condoms, and it must have ruined the reader's day because from memory the comment went something like this:

'Good story - that you ruined by characters using condoms. You fool, this is storyland there is no VD and no babys (sic). He needs to stick his cock up the redhead's pussy (the titular girl in the story is a redhead) and start bare-backing her'.

Another poster once admonished me for writing about 'spoiled rotten bitches' and told me to try writing about normal women.

The poster was wrong about there being no VD, just ask any commenter from LW. It seems every cheating wife gets them there as well as AIDS, that is if they don't get murdered.

This made me smile:

heard a bit too much

Truly not an original
have read this in various versions many times over the past 50 years....ought to vote for something original...should not have even made the list.

The story had 39 comments . . . and won the 2009 winter holiday contest.
