FAWC6 for Slyc

There's a few days left! When you're done, send me a PM to get the FAWC e-mail address. (Forum guidelines prohibit me from posting it here.)

So I have until midnight tomorrow, right? Or just before midnight tomorrow.

Out of the sixteen who signed up, I only have a few completed entries. If you're close to the deadline, you're fine. :)

Thanks. Yesterday, after I took a walk (well, on the Wii), I intended to write. Instead, I got a stomach virus.

Ooh, dang, I had it in my head it was the 5th by midnight, not the fourth.

Lynn, mine might be a touch late, I'm a night owl, but it will be in before I go to bed. :)

I did it. :D My first story in ages. And just about on time, too.

I have a list of the participants who turned in a story for FAWC6. I'll be checking stories (as my OCD demands, not because I'm expecting issues) and getting them submitted. When I hear from Laurel about a posting date, I'll add it to the thread.

Slyc 'invented' FAWC and was, therefore, familiar with all the workings of the challenge. If I missed anyone or anything, please let me know with a PM.

FAWC6 participants are:

PennLady
Patientlee
xelliebabex
MagicaPractica
Saxon Hart
Legerdemer
Tx Tall Tales
MSTarot
Naoko Smith

Congratulations everyone who got their story in.

I know there were a couple who went down to the wire and didn't quite make it, hope those stories do get published, though.

Thank you, Lynn, for taking on the hard work of organising the competition.

Me, me! Did you get my story, Lynn? I submitted it very late, but as promised I got it to you before I went to bed. ;)

I had the fifth in my head too. Maybe you heard it from me? (Sorry if that's the case!)

Updated congratulations!

Well done everyone, including Shea, for getting our stories in. So glad yours got in too, Shea! Well done.
:)

Looking forward to guessing who wrote which story.

Looks like the women are taking this one over! (Sorry Saxon, MST and TTT. You know I love you!)

I have absolutely no problem being surrounded by a group of beautiful women. Probably my favorite spot in the world, in fact.

Ahhhh.... One of the men who knows flattery will get you everywhere, and most things. :rose::D

Lynn, again, thank you so much for organizing this, and for being a little flexible with the deadline. My immense workload was conspiring against me, and if I had missed this opportunity to pay tribute to Slyc I would have been devastated. :rose:

Hey, I happen to be a huge fan of women!! Good luck to everyone and a big thanks to Lynn for running this circus.:heart::rose:

Don't feel bad. I think if I had not had Friday off, I wouldn't have finished. I wrote more than half of my story on Friday, but I knew Wednesday I had the day so I procrastinated a bit more than I would have.

When I came to the AH, back in Feb. 2007, slyc was one of the first authors I met. He saw something in the crap (my description, not his) I posted. Admitting I knew little about the mechanics that went with creating a story wasn't difficult. All anyone has to do is read one of those first submissions. Slyc spent hours sharing his writing knowledge with me. Without that encouragement, I wouldn't have become an author.

I wish slyc was here and doing FAWC6. The least I can do is step in and attempt to do justice to his vision.

When things like that happen, it's great. I've also learned from people here, directly and indirectly. I love exchanging ideas on writing, getting ideas on stories, and all that.

Your work here is much appreciated, and I think we all hope we're keeping the vision going.
