February 2016 Poll: USA President Prediction

Who do you think will win the 2016 Presidential election?

  • Total voters
    35
  • Poll closed .
The rules committee for the GOP Convention is one man and one woman from every state and territory. Considering his plunging popularity with women on the heels of his multitude of abortion comments, do you really think the women will try to make it easy for Trump if he can't win outright before the rules committee meets? Even if they're hardline pro-life, do you think They'll trust a guy who's all over the place? Today he changed his position yet again. Then his handler had to make a different statement to control the damage of that.

Denying him the nomination if he can't get the delegates may not be easy, but it's not necessarily complicated, or unprecedented. After all, party patriarch Abe Lincoln wasn't on the first ballot. Neither was Eisenhower. They gave us transcontinental railroads and the interstate highway system, possibly the greatest achievements of the GOP.

Trump says he had by far the most votes. I say for every two people who voted for Trump, 3 or 4 voted against him.

He thinks he should win because he had the most popular votes. Did he think Al Gore should have won?

Trump says he brought lots of independents and Democrats in. The convention rules say that delegates are to be assigned according to Republican votes, so some of the delegates can be challenged at the convention.

Cruz says the rules require a candidate to have won at least 8 states to be on the ballot. But that's the 2012 "keep Ron Paul out" rule, hardly a time honored tradition.

Trump was talking about an independent run in the fall again. That sort of turns the clock back to last August when there were questions as to whether he was a real Republican and not a stalking horse for Hillary.

My guess is that given the choice, the party would rather lose the Whitehouse without him, because with him, they risk losing the Whitehouse and their majorities in senators and governors. His nuclear weapons talk could turn this into the "64 landslide", and his make abortions illegal and punish the women who still get them idea is going to hurt like the rest of the ticket, because women won't trust the GOP with a majority in government any more if it doesn't put a stop to this nonsense.
