[Asa]

They are. I told them to let you all have some power. Bill and Lonnie agreed if you were in charge you would buck up like mule at our presence.

She chose to be honest too. Bill was testing him grooming him to take over Lonnie was never gonna leave his desk because he didn't want to that left Jaxon to take over.

I would have lost money had I gotten in on their thoughts. Good thing Lonnie doesn't bet.

 

[MichaelJunior]

"It wasn't the presence of your team. It was the presence of you. I reacted badly, because you stirred up old feelings in me. I know that is a lame excuse, but it is true. I still think you need a better team to have your back."

He rubbed her knee and took another big drink from his beer.

 

[Asa]

I don't think they knew how to react to this being hometown turf for me either.

She shrugged and laughed k owing well with her style of undercover she would have been dealing long ago without them. Taking another drink of her beer she sighed and looked to him.

So where does this leave us?

 

[MichaelJunior]

staring into her eyes...

"I am not sure where it leaves us Loren. I know where I wish it left us, but i don't know how it can be possible with your career."

 

[Asa]

She sighed watching him.

Holt makes it work with his family. How can we make this work?

 

[MichaelJunior]

"Loren, I want to make it work. I am open to anything. I just wish I was closer to D.C."

He looked at her. He wanted to make it work so bad.

 

[Asa]

I don't know how you would do out there it can even be insane to...

As if on cue her phone in her purse buzzed.

Bet if you pull my phone out of my.purse it will say Dep D.

 

[MichaelJunior]

He listened as she talked to him. She made it sound like he was some kind of hick that could never survive in the "real world."

Jaxon reached into her purse and looked at her phone. "You are correct Loren. Do you want to take it?"

 

[Asa]

It's insane to me too sometimes. Different area different ways of doing things.

She shook her head at how insane it could be then reaching to take the phone.

Agent Jamison... Deputy Director... Yes ma'am.... Yes ma'am. I will have in my report tomorrow... Yes ma'am I will. No... Thank you ma'am.

Hanging up the phone she sighed.

 

[MichaelJunior]

"Don't you ever get tired of all the red tape an all the administrative bullshit? She is more worried about your report than she is about your health. Does she even know what you went through? Does she even care?"

He moved over and put his arm around Loren and pulled her closer to him

 

[Asa]

Actually she does. She is a momma bear but she also has to do her job. She asked about you and me and if I was okay to conduct meetings with you today and tomorrow before my report.

She laughed.

It's alright. The team has even requested 48 hours off to wait with me till Rosen and Grey are sure everything is ok.

 

[MichaelJunior]

He turned to look at Loren.

"Meetings? Why does your director want you to conduct meetings with me? You have all of the details you need for your report. My involvement was minimal."

 

[Asa]

Jaxon... She knows I am here with you... She knows we have history... Think about it.

She smiled to him.

 

[MichaelJunior]

He smiled at her. Then he chuckled....

"Oh, she is going to let you work from here?" laughing.

 

[Asa]

Not quite but she understands reconnecting.

She smiled at him with a wink. Finishing up her beer she set the bottle aside and curled up leaning against his shoulder.

 

[MichaelJunior]

He wrapped his arms around Loren and kissed the top of her head.

"This feels so right. You belong in my arms."

 

[Asa]

She snuggled up with a smile.

I've missed this.

 

[MichaelJunior]

"So have I."

He hugged her tighter.

"So, where does this leave us Loren? I want to find a way to make it work."

 

[Asa]

Maybe we can visit each other more often. Why didn't you come with Bill when he and Harriet came to visit me three months ago?

She turned a little staring into his eyes.

 

[MichaelJunior]

"Loren, I didn't go with them, because I was not sure I was welcome. I wasn't sure that you would want to see me, and I didn't want to do or say anything that would be misconstrued as me being opposed to your career choice."

He looked into her eyes. "Do you think a long distance relationship will work?"

 

[Asa]

Somehow if it's worth it yes I do.

She smiled.

Holt manages to with all of our traveling. He does this with wife and young kids

 

[MichaelJunior]

"I want it to work. I really do."

He leaned in and kissed her lips softly.

"With Holt, the wife and kids are living with him. When your work is done, he returns to them. Are you saying you would have a home base near here?"

 

[Asa]

He communicates with them. Calls if we are not in the middle of a take down and helps tell his kids good night with a bedtime story. He takes his vacation time more than any of us. Grey keeps in contact with Parents who don't live anywhere near us.

She whimpered into the kiss. She didn't know how this would work just that she wanted it to.

 

[MichaelJunior]

"I want US to work Loren. I am willing to try anything."

He kissed her again; deeper this time.

 

[Asa]

She would have said so do I but the kiss far more important as she curled in closer against him pressing into the kiss more passionately. She had missed him more than she realized till now.
