Yes, serious corestry would call for that. the hooks in front are mainly to facilitate you getting into it. Then it needs to be tied tightly from behind, and that is most easily done by someone else although I have read instructions on how to do it by yourself. Seriously though why would you when it is so fun for someone else to do it? Of course it also depends on whether it is a serious corset or more of a lingerie/clubwear piece. Either way they're sexy.

It is a boned corset, but I wear it to feel sexy, and too constricting does not make me feel sexy. Not to mention, I have wore it many times when going out and had no one to help me into it.
