Interesting as well is that there are actually more non-erotic than erotic poems.

yes. people cannot (or should not) take themselves too seriously when writing here....although of course, we all do at one point or another.

I like the porno aspect of this forum. As long as nobody is forcing or hurting anybody everything goes, everybody is welcome. That's nice.

For a contrast, for the several past years rec.arts.poems is as porno as Literotica except that over there sex/porno is abused, is used to put down and degrade the participants of discussions or authors of poems. Thus our forum in this respect is infinitely more healthy than for instance the present rec.arts.poems (well, I have not checked on r.a.p. in months but I don't think that it has any trend to the better).

BTW, until fall of 1991 r.a.p. was great, wonderful (not perfect but still great). I wish this forum had a similar attitude toward poetry as we had in those days.

Literotica & the world out there

While I don't actively advertise my participation on Literotica, I don't hide it either. On a bunch of occasions I actually have mentioned Literotica in the Internet world out there. I would just warn my readers that it is a porno place (that youngsters should stay away form it , and that one may run at disagreeable advertisements on Literotica. I also sometimes have mentioned that poems on Literotica are not much different (with respect to erotism & porno) from poems elsewhere.

could you tell us more about that attitude, and why you think it existed there and not here? I, too, have found great attitudes on the odd site, and think it's really down to the individuals there - you know how some just gel, spark off one another in a fabulous firework display of creativity? when you get the right mix of individuals, a site burns brightly - for a while, at least. things always change ...

That's what drew me here in the first place; that and some talented poets; took me a while to find them, however, with all the volume.

I looked at a few other sites before coming here. I'm glad I did. Some sites appeared to be too formal, and didn't seem right for me, given the state of my earlier stuff (and some might say my later too). Don't expect to go looking elsewhere soon - have other things to do with my time.
