Finding a 3rd

I will try and make this as short as possible although it maybe alittle winded for just a question. My wife of 10years plus has come to me about finding another partner for our relationship. We are not looking to swing or have one night stands.We are looking for something alittle more stable. We have had a relationship with a close personal friend when we were in our earlier 20s ( earlier 30s now) that ended after about a year. We talked about it alittle both very interested but really not sure on where to start . Any advice would be helpful. Also if you are interested please drop us a PM.

Are you looking for a man or a woman?

My husband and I used AdultFriendFinder a couple of years ago--and actually found a FwB relationship that lasted for a few months--but I don't necessarily recommend AFF because you have to wade through a lot of crap to find the right person, particularly if you're looking for a man and looking for something more than sex. Google Polyamory New York and similar.

The big one in my area has an active Yahoo group mailing list with various smaller meetups, and a larger meeting every other month. A good number of people travel several hours to get to these, so you may have to be willing to do that if there's nothing in Western NY specifically.
