Finish It or Scrap It?

I would say, keep at it, but only if you want to. Sometimes struggling brings out good work, sometimes it just gives you something to edit.

On the other hand, it might be a good idea to set it aside for a while, maybe try to start again without lookin at the old material (but keep it for reference later) Maybe you did make a false start, that sometimes happend.

One time I was trying to write this paper for a class, I wrote something really long and involved and then I suddenly felt a flash of inspiration, tossed that aside and started writing what was on my mind. It was perfect! First draft too. (very short peace, I don't think you could have a perfect first draft with a novel.) There was a contest and mine was the winner:cool:

So sometimes you do have to let go of something you've worked very long and hard on in order to pour out something amazing that's just sitting there waiting for you to write it!

But as I said, keep that thing that you've been working so hard and so long on. Maybe the time will be right for that peice at another time. Maybe a fresh look at a later date will show you what you've been missing this time around.

Good luck:)

and don't dispare!:rose:

Not everything. Just ask my wife sometime. ;)

LOL,

I don't come easy either. Wish I could, but I don't. And the few times that i do, it's usually not the best!

You know... I scrapped this story almost a month ago... and I haven't really worked seriously on anything since. I think my brain got fried like an egg. But looking back... the story is not bad. It's actually pretty good

I thought you had finally gotten it to the point where it was working. And then you dumped it. :p It is a good story. Hope you resurrect it. ;)
