First Album You Ever Bought

My older brother is responsible for my love of Jethro Tull. I guess we're just far enough apart in age...My sister and brother went to see them at Colt Park in Hartford, CT, which was the last rock show they allowed there...

*laughing* exact opposite here...my best friend's older sister is responsible for my intense dislike of Jethro Tull. She was an absolute Tull fanatic, she'd come home from school and it'd be All Tull, All The Time at 100 decibels for literally hours on end.

it's a toss up between devo's "freedom of choice" and supertramps "breakfast in america".

It's like that here now...Lady P hates almost all "prog rock..." I have to listen when she's not around. She's away overnight tonight...I'm making a playlist...

Just never got next to them. Had many a boyfriend who did, though.

Oh, you're missing out. ELP, in particular, is just bursting with talent and creativity.

I love the song Pirates...the musicianship is just wonderful...the intro perfectly captures the feel of long days at sea.

My parents were big into ELP. Got many a contact high watching the lazer light show (performed to the music of ELP)at the Griffith Park Observatory.

When the Works Tour came though town, I was lucky to catch ELP. Indeed a wonderful experience. The opening number included Kieth Emerson being spun around in a device while playing an organ.

At the time, you could catch The Rolling Stones or Led Zeppelin for $8.00. But for Emerson, Lake and Palmer, as well as their forty piece orchestra, tickets were a tidy sum of $12.00. Ahhh, the good ole days . . .

Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band...in mono...75 cents cheaper than stereo

My first CD was....

"Bigger, Better, Faster, More!" Four Non-Blondes (1992)

I can't remember my first cassette as it was waaaaay before that. lol

"Amazing Grace" by the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.

It has since come out on CD.

If you have never heard "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes, get it!

I'm in Heaven

Emusic now has Miles Davis classics such as Bitches Brew, Sketches of Spain, Walkin', etc.
