Joach nodded, stepping back, "Yeah this is it."
He looked at the scene, it wasn't very good. A town, close to fifty people in all, including little children, all bent on one single purpose. They were going to kill him.
He could see something corrupt had happened here, something that shouldn't have. These people were somehow still being controlled. He had tore down the eye, but they were still coming after him just the same.
Ganorth must have bigger power than he first imagined. Joach searched through his memory of something to help him through this. One piece of spell, the one he had done earlier wouldn't work, it took up too much power, and it wouldn't work for everyone here.
Another spell hit him. The touch of death. A simple spell, all he had to do was touch them, and they would die. He couldn't do that, could he? Kill everyone here?
They were all being controlled, their lives were technically dead already, but to kill them just to save his own life.
Joach tried to search for another spell, but none even came close, besides he didn't know exactly how much power Ganorth had over them.
He contemplated this as he slowly moved backwards, away from the upcoming crowd. Maybe if he just killed a few of them, the others would stop advancing.
He didn't have time to think, one rugged man leaped at him. Joach held out his hands, and touched the man. He dropped in mid-air. A seconds followed, leaping at him. He did the same, one touch. He could feel his heart, his life flowing through him, and he felt it when he stopped it.
It wasn't a very pleasent feeling.
Joach waited, until the last possible minute, trying to let them think about what they were doing, but none of that happened. The townsmen simply kept coming, kept pushing, kept leaping. It hurt him when he had to take away each and ever life there, but he knew there was nothing he could do.
Then it stopped, one last girl, of no more than eight jumped in the air. He caught her, hugged her tightly, and watched the light leave her eyes.
"I'm sorry," he said, setting her down on the ground.
The sun was setting low in the east. Joach walked over to his horse, he had to make some miled before night. He let one tear go for the people, and then rode off into the forest.
