This is more of a technical question. I feel there is a better chance to find someone with the same issue as I am having on Literotica.

Ironically I am in IT but yet to figure out how to properly prevent this so bear with me on the details.

Originally I was writing stories on MS Word on my Windows computer. For reasons of my own I switched to Apple but continue to use Word and OneDrive on my Apple computer. The issue I keep having is whether I start the story on my iPhone or Mac I let it default to name Document. If there is more than one Document named that it will then be (1), (2), and you get the idea.

When the story is finally ready for publication I rename the file to its proper name. This is where the issue occurs. On my Mac only I have this problem, when I rename the file all of a sudden OneDrive thinks the link to that file is broken. I am on the internet, it is syncing but it does not like it.

If I do a Save As and make a new file with the proper name then no issue. But on Windows it is flawless. I am considering if I am to write anymore (taking a break for now), I may just use iCloud to store the story.

Thank you for reading this and hopefully someone has input on this.

Oh and I been fixing it by unlinking the account and re-establishing it but I should not have to do this all the time.

I haven’t noticed problems with renaming files. Seems weird. Are you doing it in the Finder? Which MacOS do you have?

Like you, I use Word on a Mac. I have OneDrive but only use it for business documents, never personal stuff like Lit, which lives on Dropbox.

I'm curious why people on Macs don't use Pages. I've never had any issues with it.

Never really got into Pages. I used Keynote for a few years, though.

After I submitted this I desired why not just go all in. I just tooks steps to move everything from my OneDrive to iCloud. Aside for work, I primarily now going Apple. I support and know Windows the best but I love how things are integrated between all my Apple devices which I use my iPhone heavily for personal use and some of it for business use. But I know how to keep business and personal stuff separate. Helps to do IT for a living especially in today's technology world.

Never heard of it. Even though I been in IT since 1997 my Apple knowledge is very little. I am heavily supporting Windows world and Networking. So tell me more.

Because I had been using Word for several million years before I switched to a Mac, and I still need to use Office for many of my clients.

That works for me. With iCloud, I can work on my story on my laptop, my phone and my iPad interchangeably.
To play devil's advocate you can do the same with a 365 account on Apple and Windows. But you convinced me, I already moved everything to iCloud and canceled my 365 but it has been way over 30 days since my renewal so no refund.
