For Grammar Nazis

I am only a stickler in grammar in certain venues. Like when someone stands up in the front of a room doing a silly training seminar and doesn't use proper grammar.


"What do troubleshooter do."..............That was the first thing someone running a training class at work, that the company probably paid thousands and thousands of dollars company wide on the program, wrote on the board. I never learned a thing after that....lol

I'm amazed that nowadays I see scads of misspelled words and incorrect grammar in magazines, newspapers, and all forms of the written word. Whatever happened to real editors? Spellcheck don't cut it! ;)

I have never used spell check. If I am going to be wrong I can manage to do that myself....lol

I work in engineering and let me tell you, it's the valley of terrible grammar. I promise you, not a single person in my field has ever heard of an adverb, let alone properly used one.

"It works really good." (vomit, gag, stab self in face)

One of the easiest and most misused.

We have a professor at our University that says "I want to AX you something." How the heck did he get hired? That's something I'd like to "AX" someone.

I understand.

One that really gets my goat is when people tell me they are "fustrated", with no clue that there are actually two Rs in that sentence. And everyone who says it does so with such immense conviction that I feel bad when I laugh in their face.

If only everyone could be as perfect as we are. :)
 
I sumtymes typ like dis just cuz I can.
Grammer mistakes bother me a bit, but
it's alright as long as they can hold a decent
conversation. That's more important to me.
English was NOT my best/favorite subject.
